No agenda and no judgement, as in the title how long would it take you to drink half a bottle of white wine? One that you like.

Half an hour.

Easily, two large glasses is 2/3 bottle.

I slow down after the first two but there would be more <waits for the MN horror>

Really?

Yes. We open a bottle of red wine at Christmas and it last until into the new year. I probably drink less than 2 bottles of wine a year myself. Never been a big drinker and these days it goes straight to my head so I rarely bother.

Boreded · 03/10/2026 20:27

Same amount of time it takes to drink half a bottle of water

choccycornflakecakes · 03/10/2026 20:27

For me, it used to he half an hour, swiftly followed by the other half.

I don't drink anymore though

We share a bottle over dinner if we date so a few hours.

Honestly I can't imagine this. It is a few mouthfuls.

When Mr MRH and I go out for dinner we have a bottle each.

CordeliaNaismithVorkosigan · 03/10/2026 20:27

One evening- I tend to get through a bottle of white each weekend.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 03/10/2026 20:28

That's two glasses, I'd say it would be gone no more than 45 mins for me.

tralalalalaaaa · 03/10/2026 20:28

Haven’t drank in a very long time and was never a huge fan of wine anyway - I’d probably nurse a medium size glass (175ml) for an hour. So I guess 2 hours?

amincharge · 03/10/2026 20:28

Last Night 30 mins, tonight one glass and not bothered about anymore . Just depends on so many different reasons.

whatsgoingonhey · 03/10/2026 20:29

2 hours

EffortlessDiscussions · 03/10/2026 20:29

Yes it's hypothetical here we don't drink wine at home because we wouldn't finish a bottle
before it went off. We both prefer red to white too but I sometimes have white on hot summer evenings in a pub garden. But more likely to drink beer.

Funnywonder · 03/10/2026 20:29

When I was younger, an hour (maybe less.) Nowadays, two hours. If I manage to stay awake.

Teenagerantruns · 03/10/2026 20:32

Probably anywhere between 30mins and an hour, but l dont measure at home, so thats what 2 glasses? I suppose it would depend on what in doing, cooking maybe longer, sitting watching tv maybe quicker...

Bjorkdidit · 03/10/2026 20:33

Depends if I'm thirsty or stringing it out, eg if I'm paying restaurant prices and don't want to spend too much. I try not to drink more than that amount of alcohol per night because it makes me feel shit and affects sleep.

Why do you ask?

MagneticSquirrel · 03/10/2026 20:33

Half an hour to an hour … could easily get through more than a bottle
between 2 in an hour while having dinner.

choccycornflakecakes · 03/10/2026 20:34

I'm wondering why you ask too, OP

LathkillDale · 03/10/2026 20:34

I don’t like white, so probably about 6 months in cooking! Red would also take 6 months, although I like it, because I rarely drink at all.

O00ps · 03/10/2026 20:38

Between 30 minutes and three days depending on the situation and day (work or weekend etc)

malloryknox123 · 03/10/2026 20:39

Two good gulps would do it

TennisLady · 03/10/2026 20:40

A Friday night probably a couple hours or less. Tonight for example it’s taken me longer than that. That’s at home alone or with DH not with friends etc which would be quicker.

SirChenjins · 03/10/2026 20:40

Weeks - I rarely drink.

Gengha · 03/10/2026 20:41

Probably about half an hour as I could have done a bottlle in an hour at my worst. This is why I havent drunk alcohol in over 5 years

21ZIGGY · 03/10/2026 20:41

TeenToTwenties · 03/10/2026 20:13

2 weeks.

🙄

canklesmctacotits · 03/10/2026 20:42

Anywhere between a month and 6 months! Alcohol does nothing for me. I mostly use it for cooking!

ArcangelaTarabotti · 03/10/2026 20:42

BlossomValley · 03/10/2026 20:11

Half an hour.
