Christa Pike -where does she stand legally?

Just this really. Christ a is obviously being giving life saving treatment at hospital but where does she now stand legally. I suppose she probably has irreversible brain damage so will this not allow a second execution to take place? Is this a cruel and unusual punishment?

What a country.

Christa Pike? Why would you think she needs life saving treatment?

Christa Pike? Why would you think she needs life saving treatment?

She’s in hospital now after two doses of the lethal injection left her unconscious but alive.

Theunamedcat · 01/10/2026 06:49

I thought they stopped it with 40 minutes to go?

She confessed to the killing I really dont think there should have been any stays during the procedure unless she was innocent or there was a chance she was innocent its barbaric

SameHereSameProb · 01/10/2026 06:50

What a dreadful situation on so, so many levels.

DollopOfFun · 01/10/2026 06:50

There's obviously nothing funny about any part of this story but 'Christ A Pike' made me actually lol.

Gateappreciation · 01/10/2026 06:50

Just read an article. It implied there is no protocol for a situation like this, ie if the patient survives. That’s pretty shocking as well.

stayathomegardener · 01/10/2026 06:51

It’s a bloody mess, how incompetent do you have to be to fail in this one task.
Not that I agreed with it in the beginning.

Terrible outcome for perpetrator and victims family.

Exactly that. Tragic from the get go.

Read the news.

I wonder how much life saving treatment is given and what the thoughts of the medical staff are? They are obviously trying to save a women for what reason?

The state has suspended executions for a year so if she does survive then she gets a bit more time?

I thought this too but news update in the last 10 minutes says something very different.

This woman is evil. This is the woman that tortured and murdered a girl and then carried a piece of her skull around with her. That’s what I call cruel and unusual.

mids2019 · 01/10/2026 06:53

I don't think there was a resus team on hand strangely enough.....it's a mess and I don't know how this will knock on through the US legal landscape.

She’ll just be executed at a later date. The idea that a failed execution means no death penalty is a social media myth.

Flamingbanana214 · 01/10/2026 06:55

I read on an American page that the state can give 4 doses of the lethal injections and they gave 2.

What a mess though.

warninglivewithoutwarning · 01/10/2026 06:56

The state should be utterly ashamed. She should be released now.

You’re absolutely correct , what she did was barbaric and appalling and it is shocking but equally what has now happened to her is barbaric appalling and shocking. I think it’s justifiable to find what she did as horrific as what has now been done to her.

Cascadia · 01/10/2026 06:57

It's so bizarre the whole thing. Such a ridiculous system.

I think it's a bit late for that, she is barely alive if the American reporters are right.

I would expect she will have a brain injury if she survives so may not ever be released or put back in prison.
