A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Ive just been reading that words mother and father have been banned at the green conferences and women talking about pelvis issues have been stormed by trans activists ( top table with Zac ) whilst they were trying to discuss how sanitary wear and plastics can't be recycled !
The innocence of these women discussing female issues and how they can impact the environment and trying to defend the link to the "green party ".
Oh how far the green party has come.

The NSDAP, 2026 style.

Lammy. Never has a Foreign Secretary or a Justice Secretary been so unmemorable.

I suppose we should be thankful that he’s passed into obscurity without trace, given the fiascos that could have happened on that twit’s watch.

I would disagree with you.

He is memorable, just not the the right reasons.

Hedgerowmanager · 04/10/2026 18:30

strawberrybubblegum · 04/10/2026 16:43

Does he even realise what he's done?

Good news that this has opened your DC's eyes @Nuthatch26 . A lot of their policies are surface-level appealing in a left-wjng way until you actually think about the consequences - so I can understand young people being drawn to it.

But this policy is so horrific. The fact they didn't even put in amendments allowing Jewish people to attend synagogues without censure makes my blood run cold.

How can this have passed, in a party which a few months ago polled at 20% ? I desperately hope the current slide continues.

I ache to tell British Jews that most of us don't think this way.

He’ll be gone soon.

The Revolution eats its children in action.

Scary times.

Yes its a relief. I don't try to influence my dc in their politically preferences, just encourage them to do their research before they vote. I've been biting my tongue to the extreme with my Green dc. 😬 "You were right Mum" was music to my ears!

I really hope this marks the beginning of the end for ZP, but I fear what comes next will be even worse.

At least this might kill the idea of a Labour/Green coalition?

Yes, I hope so. I want to see Burnham come out quickly and rule out any coalition with the Green Party. Is he brave enough?

Bloody hell, I hope so.

All the party leaders need to immediately condemn this motion and also condemn the Green Party for passing it.

Although with Labour recognising Palestine, Ed's handshake with Iran's foreign minister and Labour's sanctions against Israel... I'm very afraid that isn't the direction this is going to go.

Is Burnham willing to brave conflict by going against anyone's opinion? Directly to them, I mean - rather than when speaking to the person with the opposite opinion.

Hmm...

That is a very good point.

As with the mainstream parties’ shunning of AfD in Germany, you’d like to think that Labour would shun the Greens. I have grave doubts about their willingness to do that though.

I’m not sure about that. He’s terrified of the many antisemites in his own party and of losing seats to ‘Gaza independents’.

Binnyforthewin · 04/10/2026 20:49

I wonder what the Tory Conference version of the country pubs are right wing statement will be? There is bound to be some oddball who says something mental to get a few minutes in the spotlight.

I think Burnham has filed it under I’ve dealt with that by doing these things. I can’t see him revisiting anything by commenting on the Greens. But maybe he will.

Bridget Philipson has issued a statement. I'm not convinced by it. She wants Polanski to "make it clear that this will not be the party's position moving forward".

Apparently there are 700 migrants arriving, or have arrived, in Gosport this evening. Coaches have been parked up in nearby Fareham ready to transport them, guarded by police, and a fleet of ambulances are standing by (for what, I have no idea, but maybe to treat any unwell migrants as they come ashore or perhaps to treat casualties from the anticipated protests). Reports are saying hundreds of people have gathered in the area.

If this carries on, Labour might literally have blood on their hands.

How can Polanski do that when it have just been determined that it is their policy moving forward?

Thanks I missed that. The thing with the Greens is the members determine policy. It’s such a hostage to fortune as it means extreme positions are adopted.

Well I for one will enjoy the upcoming show at the Chickens for KFC party as more and more radical leftists come to realise they cannot bully or accuse the muslim membership of an '-ism' to get their way on Trans and LGBT issues.
