Who has the most famous face? Voice? Is the most recognisable? Whether you like the person or not...

Most famous, Jesus.

Face, Buddha.

Voice I don't know. Maybe Elvis?

Would Jesus be known in Asia - in India and China?

There are tens of millions of Christians in India and there have been Christian communities there since the first century.

Surely Sir Cliff Richard.

believeinbelieve · 28/09/2026 21:43

Unfortunately Hitler was the first to spring to mind - in terms of being instantly recognisable. We don't know what Jesus actually looked like, after all.

Also Elvis, the late Queen, possibly Michael Jackson.

Princess Diana

Honestly, most teens of today outside of the UK wouldn't know or recognise her. This thread is very English - the Queen and Princess Diana are not the most famous people of all time worldwide.

I don't even know if teens would necessarily recognise her in the UK these days. Some would, but I suspect she would be an irrelevance for many.

I agree, in spite of folks raking it all up for money.

Yes, absolutely. There are lots of Christians in India and some in China but I'm pretty sure he would be known among non Christians as well.

I think it changes over time. Ignoring religious figures, currently Ronaldo, 50 years ago probably Hitler, 150 years ago possibly someone like Queen Victoria given all the Empire stuff and the intermarriages all over Europe.

In no particular order

Christiano Ronaldo
Messi
Donald stupid Trump.
Elon musk
Mr beast
Princess di
Michael Jackson
Elvis presley
Taylor Swift
Awful sabrina carpenter
The whole 6 from friends
A guy from YouTube dont know his name but hes black and popular world wide not I show speed but another one and I think hes a judge on Britain's got talent..

Theres probably a few other youtubers that are just as or slightly popular/well liked and recognised globally but I know mr beast is the top of the chain to a lot of people...

It’s not about individuals though.

And it’s not Jesus or bloody Trump either.

The study accessed some of the world’s most remote tribes and communities, they hadn’t heard of the Queen, why would they? Although they often worshipped a god or a figure, they didn’t recognise Jesus. However, they did know Ronaldo, and Coca Cola!

Quite a lot of remote tribes and communities live in countries which are in the Commonwealth, so they are more likely to have heard of the Queen than remote peoples from other countries.

I reckon in a hundred years' time, more people in the world would recognise a picture of the Queen than one of Ronaldo.

Thats exactly what I was thinking when I said the Queen would be more recognised than Michael Jackson.

The Commonwealth (inc stamps) and access to western media.

Totally ageee on the Queen vs Ronaldo, how many people could pick Maradona or Pele out in a line up,
Where there are photos of the Queen at every stage in life.

XelaM · 30/09/2026 12:40

What's with this stamps nonsense? Why would people around the world look at English stamps for any length of time when they have their own monarchs/politicians on their stamps and no one has penpals nowadays. I bet most Americans (outside of the educated classes) wouldn't recognise the Queen and certainly wouldn't think she was the most famous person of all time. Why not Churchill? Or George Washington? If you're going down the famous politician routes. I still stand by Michael Jackson eclipsing the Queen in fame many times over.

Well most of the Commonwealth use the Queen on stamps do they not?

Would you not look closely if you came across an unusual stamp or money

Yes I agree because he was real and totally the most evil person that ever lived.
Also I think Elvis but for very different reasons.

Most evil that ever lived!!!
I think him and Ben netanyahu are both evil on par with one another.

Yes good point, all the Muslims who have ever lived have heard of Jesus too as he's a prophet in the Quran.

In islam,

You have you to believe in jesus, his mother mary and the miracle birth, the miracles he performed through the will/permission from God and that he is the messiah that will return at the end of days.
There is a chapter in the quran dedicated to Mary.

No, im talking about Sabrina who is permanently horny when making music videos, even horny when signing autographs and taking insta pics, signing songs and doing doggy style position on the stage when in live concert, that trollop.

Lookinhin · 30/09/2026 14:58

There is no proof Jesus existed. Maybe he did, but not sure why so many people are presenting it as fact.

Jesus!, I knew he was mentioned, only because I asked a guy at work if he celebrated Christmas. He said Jesus was like a prophet in the Koran.
It has never occurred to me that Mary gets a mention too.

Well if he did or didn't there is a heck of a lot of people believe in him.

If religion gives people moral guidance, and brings people faith, love and hope then its worth something.

Not just that, but there are many millions of people all over the world who collect stamps, coins and banknotes. The Queen has been on a lot more of them than Michael Jackson (or Ronaldo).😂
