Who do you think is the most famous person in human history?

[WhiteFramesandPlanes]

Who has the most famous face? Voice? Is the most recognisable? Whether you like the person or not...

My immediate thoughts were Jesus, Hitler, Cleopatra.

Ghandi maybe?

Hitler

Jesus, Buddha and Mohammed equally

For Britain: Henry VIII, William the Conqueror or William Shakespeare

Must have some Women
...
Boudica, Anne Boleyn, Elizabeth I, Florence Nightingale, Emily Pankhurst, Queen Victoria ...

Chris Martin

Who?

Obviously those were all from my British point of view ! I'll add:

Cleopatra, Indira Ghandi , Marie Curie, Rosa Parks , Malala Yousafzai.

This has been done so many times.

There was an actual study as to who is “known” most widely across the globe and the answer is Ronaldo

😂😂

I always think that being a member of Coldplay who isn't Chris Martin would be the perfect way to be wealthy and not famous in your own right.

hitler worldwide sadly
princess Diana / queen lizzy in UK

Oddly, he wasn't hailed as wonderful for many many centuries! Although Shakespeare was . . . . (and he didn't even need to sing).

Adolf Hitler

@Vaguelyclassical Not yet but MJ was literally the most famous person on Earth. We can't even be sure Shakespeare wrote his own plays...

Napoleon is another one to throw out there.

My first thought was Hitler unfortunately

God - everyone has heard of some version of him.

I thought Jesus before I opened the thread and Shakespeare

It's interesting to see people's thoughts on this. A lot of the suggestions seem quite Eurocentric!

For historical figures, and obviously in terms of name recognition only, I would say Jesus. Christianity is widespread and he is also recognised as a prophet in Islam. Plus many non-Christians and non-Muslims will have heard of him as well.

As a pp has said, in terms of living figures, Ronaldo is supposedly the most recognised.

MJ

Jesus or Mohammed

Michael Jackson

😂😂😂😂😂😂 there are 30 million Christians in India and prob close to 40 million in China!!!

But I’d say Michael Jackson

Nelson Mandela? Gandhi?

Mao, Ghandhi, or Buddha I guess, given the populations of India and China.
