i personally just switched to iPhone! Still getting used to the feel of things.

OP posts:

We’re an apple family. When smart phones first came out I got a Samsung galaxy on contract, I hated it it was so slow. I switched to apple and never looked back. If you handed me anything other than an iPhone I wouldn’t know what the hell to do with it.

HEADS UP PEOPLE

The OP doesn't really care about you and your thoughts about your phone. He is just doing his research to decide which platform/operating software would be best/preferred to use for the app that he's developing.

(Only his thread trying to conduct his research on developing said app, on Mumsnet, has been deleted).

wanker

@Doryeagle not you @BIWI

I'm rarely lovely, and they couldn't pay me enough to get an iPhone.

I’m sure all the Lovely Ladies have pink, sparkly phones hun.

I need the laugh emoji back.

scoopsahoooy · 18/09/2026 15:46

I was Android only for years but my work phone has always been an iPhone and I'll be honest I just prefer them generally, so last time I got a new phone I got an iPhone. If Huawei hadn't got in trouble I'd have stuck with them forever - that was the best phone I ever had.

purplecorkheart · 18/09/2026 17:06

Android namely Samsung. Really like it. Had an iPhone at some stage and did not like it despite having an iPad. I am not the most logical person!

browneyes77 · 18/09/2026 20:33

I have an iPhone.

I used to be a BlackBerry girl years ago, but switched to iPhone and stuck with it

I think Android do some great handsets, but the operating system is what stops me having one.

My folks both have androids and I HATE the operating software. Just navigating around it drives me mad. It feels so clunky and disorganised compared to my iPhone.

Although I do miss my Hot Pink Motorola Razr 😂

agree - my S25 Ultra is on an easy par with iphone

iphone 17 pro max was USD1199 in March and the samsung S26 ultra was USD1299
(https://www.tomsguide.com/phones/galaxy-s26-ultra-vs-iphone-17-pro-max)

expensive for a Supermarket own brand

My Xaomi A2 lite was just over £100 and it was brilliant. My current Motorola cost a little bit more - I got it just because I fancied a slightly bigger screen. The Xaomi is still fine.

@Nutmuncherwhat feeling would you get if, heaven forbid, you ever had to handle an android?

If I saw you with your precious iPhone should I feel envious, unworthy.....
I'm very concerned about the harm I might be causing by using this appalling device.

I honestly would struggle to touch one. I’d fear it would drain me of my aspirations 🪫 🤭

My sons android is worth about 3k, but yes. Cheap. Ffs.

But the software works and looks like it cost 10p to code, truly abysmal compared to iOS regardless of whatever overpriced gimmicky handsets they try to convince people otherwise with. There’s no cachet with android, my iPhone 17 cost a third of your sons device and yet has ten times the street cred, it’s a fact

💅🏼

Street cred? Do the young'uns still say that?

No. DS laughed at the idea.

RampantIvy · 19/09/2026 00:18

Sorry, but you are wrong. Sheeplike People who believe that only Apple products give you street cred are laughed at.

From a technical point of view both Samsung and Apple make great phones. Android hold a larger market share than iOS, with Android commanding nearly 70% of the worldwide market. It is preferred by techy people because it is highly customisable whereas iOS is a closed operating system. iOS is popular in the US and Europe, but not so much elsewhere.

Clearly Apple doesn't hold much street cred outside of Europe and the US 😁

Android. Google Phone.

Same here

Sesma · 19/09/2026 08:41

Samsungs are a similar price to Apple, DH got an S25 and it wasn't that cheap similar to the normal iPhone, he had a Motorola phone before that and that was cheap but the Samsung wasn't

sanityisamyth · 19/09/2026 08:51

iPhone. I refuse to use Android.

MyGallbladderIsAFucker · 19/09/2026 09:00

Nutmuncher is surely taking the piss.
I won't answer I'm not lovely.

After a google search the only 3k android phone is that samsung triple fold.
Assuming that, it's definitely not gimmicky. I use the normal samsung fold 7 and a lot of people comment how they like it. I'm sure a triple fold has a lot more so called street cred than a normal iphone...

It is indeed a triple fold! It's bloody amazing. (He didn't buy it, he was a product tester for Samsung, lucky so and so)

RampantIvy · 19/09/2026 18:20

Either @Nutmuncher is a word beginning with T, they work for Apple or they really are a gullible sheep.

I have Android because that is what I am used to, but I am adult enough to acknowledge that Apple make good kit that is on an equal par technically with Samsung. It just isn't for me.

Don’t want the choice. Just want the superb tech that I get with Apple. We have everything Apple. Even watches. Love them.

Spot the person who works for Apple🤣

DoNoTakeNo · 19/09/2026 18:22

I’m female but definitely not lovely. Hence I will not answer.

Sesma · 19/09/2026 18:25

I have everything Apple but I don't work for them, do people that have all Samsung work for Samsung
