DP wants to go and see her and I am not keen. She always strikes me as a posh fat elderly lady who likes to get laughs by saying shocking things interspersed with lots of swearing.

But am I wrong? Is her show cleverer than my impression of her?

MM has done some amazing work over the years. If you can only see that she's overweight and has an accent you dislike, then DH had better go to the book event on his own.

I went to her book tour last year, it was awful. Same tired old anecdotes you’ve heard before, that weren’t even that funny the first time! It was like a lecture from an patronising self obsessed elderly aunt with dementia.

Sov wanking three men in a public park anecdote?

Her surname is Margolyes, not Margoyles.

She is an attention seeker who thrives on shocking her audience. Then again, isn’t everyone in the performing arts basically an attention seeker? MM does have a sharp intellect and verbal wit and can be very amusing, not really my taste though. Lesbians love her however.

Not sure what she’s like as an actress, I’ve only ever known her as the large pudding sat on Graham Norton’s sofa throwing off ‘hilarious’ anecdotes. I know she constantly markets herself to the younger generation for the world she played in Harry Potter.
I do like her views on Israel and Palestine.

Yes and every other thing you’ve heard on Graham Norton, plus Anita Rani fawning over her, it was an absolute cringe-fest!
