Well...he was 80 too so not exactly unexpected. People born in the 1940s are quite likely to die in the 2020s. Sad for his loved ones and fans, obviously.

Bloody loved Tim Curry.

He does the voice on my kid's Minions Tonie, which I might root out for tonight.

Oh, that’s sad! I had no idea he was 80!

I first remember seeing him in a film called CLUE, based on the Cluedo board game. Saw it as a kid in the 80's and loved it and thought he was great.

Have liked him in everything he has done since then. Great actor.

Well it’s a bit sad when anyone dies but people dying in their 80’s - that’s a long life and I disagree that it means necessarily that it’s been a crap year because of that!
Plenty of other reasons, sure, but the deaths of celebrities brings out a weird side of people (not saying this is you op!!),

This is a rough celebrity news cycle. RIP :(

But they aren’t 80 in our memory. They’re still as they were at their heyday. And we don’t like remembering how long ago that was 🤣

So sad, he was such a fantastic actor with a wonderful voice.

He was indeed 80 and had been in poor health for some time, so while not unexpected exactly it's still incredibly sad. But yes, a life well lived and which touched many lives, which is all any of us can hope for really.

He was a phenomenal actor and I was utterly terrified of his Pennywise!

Home Alone 2 is going to be a weepy this Xmas 😢

He did a few episodes on Criminal Minds that were an acting masterclass.

I saw him in the original stage performance of the Rocky Horror Show in London (Royal Court, Theatre Upstairs) in the late 70s and he was mesmerising, sashaying into the audience in drag. And what a voice!
With Richard O’Brien and Little Nell too.

This is properly sad. He was tip-top.

He suffered a stroke some years ago that prevented him acting and may have put him in a wheelchair. Great actor both stage and screen. Shocked Meatloaf who got a role on Broadway in Rocky Horror when Tim walked in wearing his costume!!! Rooster in Annie, Pennywise, Pirates of Penzance. Stage and Screen, master of both

I loved him in Clue! Also for us 80s children, does anyone else remember him as the grand wizard in the Worst Witch film? (Has anyone seen my tambourine!)

What a voice - both speaking and singing. What charisma! Saw him play Macheath in The Threepenny Opera at The National Theatre. Mesmerising indeed.

Aww I had a real soft spot for him. Very talented man. I own 5 dvd's and Clue is one of them. Rip Tim
