JoanChitty · 25/08/2026 19:07

Amazing woman. I’ve never heard anyone say anything nasty about her. May she rest in peace.

TheBewleySisters · 25/08/2026 19:08

I loved her. And remember - she wrote I Will Always Love You AND Jolene on the same day!

GeorgeMichaelsCat · 25/08/2026 19:08

How sad😧

NoEligibilityRequirementsApply · 25/08/2026 19:08

Aah how sad. I loved her.

My favourite quote of hers 'People think I'm just a dumb blonde. I know I'm not dumb. I also know I'm not blonde'.

Her husband died not long ago didn’t he?
She did loads for charity and kids.

Enko · 25/08/2026 19:09

Amazing singer songwriter and woman. So sad to see this

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 25/08/2026 19:10

She was a fantastic businesswoman too. Wouldn't sign away her rights to I Will Always Love You to Elvis and employed a lot of her family and extended family. She started her musical career learning to play the guitar at the age of 3. She wrote I Will Always Love You and Jolene on the same day.

AcquadiP · 25/08/2026 19:10

Sad news. A fantastic singer, song-writer and woman. RIP Dolly.

Raptors · 25/08/2026 19:10

Never knew she wrote both those songs on the same day - that’s amazing!

I had just read that he died in March 2025.

The world has lost a true icon.

BEAchDays2 · 25/08/2026 19:11

A complete queen. The devastation is real.

AlwaysSometimesNever · 25/08/2026 19:11

devildeepbluesea · 25/08/2026 19:13

I’m genuinely gutted to hear this. An amazing woman and talent, the world is now a poorer place.

12234m · 25/08/2026 19:13

My 21 year old just came and told me, shocked. We used to listen to her on the school run so he likes her music too.
