Pyjamas during the day?

Is it acceptable to wear pyjamas at home during the day? What about answering the door for parcels? Watering the plants?

I’m talking sensible shorts and t-shirt types?

But why ? Why not just wear shorts and a T-Shirt ? To me wandering around in your PJs all day just makes me think you haven’t had a shower yet .

Of course it is. Wear what you want in your own home.

Dress up as Donald Duck if you like.

You can do what you want in your own home.

And so what? If someone is just at home, what would it matter to you or anyone else if they had showered?

I wear my PJs if I'm home ❤️😊 why not? As long as your comfy who cares 💕

Acceptable to who ? Wear what you want in your own home.
I've no problem answering the door for a delivery in my jammies.
I'm in my own home, Im comfortable. Thats all that matters

Wear what you please, it’s really not something you need to seek opinion on.

of course you can wear pjs all day if you want.

If you’re watering the plants out front, and your pajamas clearly look like PJs, then you may get neighbours judging, but so what.

It’s your home, if you want to climb into your bed at the end of the day in dirty clothes that’s up to you as well.

Do what makes you comfortable and happy. It certainly cuts down on washing.

I wouldn’t do it but you can do what you like in your own home. You may get judged if you get seen but if you don’t care about that then crack on.

It's fine, none of the people who might see you would be interested. I water the plants in the evening in my nightie, lucky neighbours if they happen to catch a glimpse of me.

Why wouldn’t it be acceptable?

Although when I read threads like this, people always cite comfort and I always wonder why people are only comfy in pyjamas. Are we all wearing the wrong clothes?!

No everyone showers in the mornings, the horror.

It's all I wear at home, comfiest things I own.

Yes of course.
If you feel the need you can change into daywear shorts and t-shirt instead of pyjama shorts and t-shirt, but there's no actual need to do that.

All these rules people have for clothes (and other things) are generated either by their upbringing or their response to something they encountered, there are no actual rules about pyjama shorts Vs day wear shorts.

Same as you could have lasagne for breakfast and cornflakes for tea.

Or you can dye your hair pink.

I wouldn’t but I was raised to get up, get dressed, and get ready for the day.

Overall, yes, you can wear and do whatever you want in your own home.
But I think it’s really good for your mental health to get up in the morning, wash and get dressed. That doesn’t mean you can’t wear comfy clothes. But it does wonders to mentally start your day.

This is my fourth day in pjs! I've had a procedure done and can't go outside so shower every night and put on clean PJ's.
I've been out in the garden, answered the door for deliveries, had non family members in the house and absolutely nothing bad has happened so I'd say it was fine to stay in PJ's all day!

I was on a FaceTime with my DSis and she asked if I had been out. I said no I hadn’t, she asked why was I dressed as if I was going out? She really didn’t understand why I would get dressed if I wasn’t going out.

I wasn’t naked, just to add!

I don’t come down stairs until I am fully dressed each day.

It would depress me to do this. I have comfortable clothes though.

Surely that isn't your or the delivery drivers business ! If im not going out I get dressed and don't always shower!

Op if you want to go about your house in pyjamas crack on, personally it makes me feel lazy so I do put clothes on.

As soon as I know I'm in for the day, jammies on.

I have super comfy home clothes “loungewear” as it’s generally called as I work from home. I think pj wearing is a bit ick. But you can find something that’s as comfortable as pjs.
