What have you been enjoying lately?

OP posts:

Being able to walk without a zimmer frame after a hideous back issue. Waking up in the middle of the night for a wee, no problem!

CapitanSandy · 20/08/2026 11:11

Being part of a book club. It’s been lovely reading again and meeting new people too.

MJEBinAthens · 20/08/2026 11:55

Making these out of broken necklaces and old beads left from other craft projects!

My new cycle route for the days I go into the office. It’s the one I used to do in a previous job, before I changed jobs and ended up with a much less enjoyable cycle, but am now back to my previous location. It sets me up in the morning, and I arrive smiling.

These are fab! Excellent for an autumnal / Halloween craft sale, if you were thinking of selling.

Binfire · 20/08/2026 12:59

Ive been painting for the first time in months after a paint and sip evening reignited by interest in it. I’m no Picasso but it’s lovely to be in a flow state and forget about the world for an hour or two!

NovemberMorn · 20/08/2026 12:59

The sun.
Being able to eat breakfast on the patio every morning, hearing the birds, watching the horses in the fields, smelling the flowers. Living in the NW of England, it's been a heavenly change.

They are beautiful. x

Myfridgeiscool · 20/08/2026 13:01

The cooler weather. Morning dog walks are back to being a relaxed affair rather than a race against the heat.

irfgy · 20/08/2026 13:13

wearing my hair down for the first days in weeks because it’s finally feeling cool enough today

JacknDiane · 20/08/2026 13:16

Ive been off work sick and ive been enjoying a daily walk with a takeaway coffee. Just feeling the cool breeze on my skin and appreciating the trees and green grass has just been good for my soul.

BunnyOnTheOnion · 20/08/2026 13:16

Being home from holiday and the cooler weather, it means my cats are pleased to see me and I'm not melting when they are sat on me/ cuddled up in bed ❤️

Mycatisreal · 20/08/2026 13:18

Waking up to a breeze.

Reading books again. A good friend recommended the Cazalet Chronicles and I absolutely binged them this summer. There’s nothing better than that feeling of being utterly absorbed in a fictional world, and for me these days it’s all the better when it’s a female author writing insightful and meaningful books about women’s lives.

Having the confidence to ride my horse in the menage. It feels really good when you make progress.

AmberSpy · 20/08/2026 13:31

Learning karate! Something I've wanted to do for ages but have finally got round to it. It's fun and really nice to do something that is physically challenging, as opposed to intellectually demanding.

These are beautiful! Is there a tutorial? I have many, many, beads.

My own is gardening - I've really enjoyed the few edible plants I've grown this year, stripping weedy patches, planning next year...and, of course, garden centre cafes 🤣.

What have you been enjoying lately?

Floral perfumes.
Bagels cut in half and toasted, with herby cream cheese and smoked salmon.
My haircare routine.
Sleeping.
Not working.

springyla · 20/08/2026 14:16

Slow walks along the back lanes picking blackberries, so peaceful

I’m not actually scared of spiders, but those are like the stuff of nightmares. So creepy!

6ate9 · 20/08/2026 19:45

I’ve recently discovered the Latin poet Catullus. He wrote some beautiful poetry (and some vulgar poems!)

Godlike the man who
sits at her side, who
watches and catches
that laughter
which (softly) tears me
to tatters: nothing is
left of me, each time
I see her...

It would be if they made themselves at night out of op bead box

But they don't🕷️🕷️🕸️🕸️🕷️

Pet sitting my sisters animals. The dog means I have to get out every day (and take the little 2 with me, 3 and 1) so we all get a good walk and fresh air every day. The cat is very pleasing to cuddle up with at the end of the day.

The chicken nuggets I bought from Costco recently.

ETA - Kathy Burkes autobiography, an interesting read and I didn’t realise how many more serious things she had done before Kevin and Perry and Linda La Hughes.
