Mine is in Titanic (1997). The immediate aftermath of the ship hitting the iceberg and the reaction to it. I have seen the
film more times than I can count but bit still takes my breath away.

The shopping scenes in Pretty Woman..

MyDeepAmberDog · 16/08/2026 17:45

The end of Sixth Sense when Cole tells his mum about grandma visiting.

CluelessAboutBiology · 16/08/2026 17:48

Near the end of The Wedding Singer, when Glenn realises that Adam Sandler’s character is on the plane with him and Julia. Glenn tries to walk down the plane aisle, only to be blocked by a trolley, and the words “No one talks to Billy Idol like that”

Quantum of Solace where Bond is at the opera taking photos on his phone of all the villains.

Renohouse · 16/08/2026 17:49

The final scene of Billy Elliot

Don't Cry Shopgirl ❤️

The end of Leon, where leon is with Gary Oldman’s character and hands him something (won’t say what as spoils the ending!) and says “this is from Matilda”.

My favourite film of all time.

Pedant61 · 16/08/2026 17:51

The end of Paddington 2 when Aunt Lucy comes to London - I cry every time.

CoffeeBotherer · 16/08/2026 17:51

The final scene in Vertigo.

Though there are many throughout the film, the fireside, the first time seeing her in the restaurant, Midge explaining the cantilever bra, and the ghostly apparition after the makeover.

The final scene of Billy Elliot

This! I rewatch it on YouTube regularly

Arlanymor · 16/08/2026 17:56

I don't know if it's my favourite, but the most emotionally impactful is the piling of the stones on Oskar Schinder's grave at Mount Zion.

PropertyD · 16/08/2026 17:57

An Affair to Remember where Cary Grant walks into the bedroom and realises why Deborah Kerr didn’t meet him at the top of the Empire State Building

BansheeOfTheSouth · 16/08/2026 17:59

Dogma - Alan Rickman's 'Behold the Metatron' speech from entrance to ordering tequila.

Desolationrower · 16/08/2026 18:01

Willow’s bare arsed dance in The Wicker Man and Dracula laughing Maniacally in Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

HappiestSleeping · 16/08/2026 18:01

Luke - I am your father!

Yorkshireteaalwayswins · 16/08/2026 18:08

The Erin Brockovich scene where she quotes the plaintiffs telephone numbers and medical situations to the snotty solicitor!

Dogma - Alan Rickman's 'Behold the Metatron' speech from entrance to ordering tequila.

Good choice, although the bit near the end where Jay confronts Alanis Morissette runs it a close second I think.

littleHen84 · 16/08/2026 18:09

The scene in This is England where Woody races out of the door to get to Lol at the hospital leaving the christmas he was having behind, so much raw feeling x

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 16/08/2026 18:13

The scene in its a wonderful life when George is reunited with his family and the bells ring on the Christmas tree.
'Every time a bell rings an angel gets his wings '

6ate9 · 16/08/2026 18:16

The Railway Children- “Daddy. my daddy!”

ginasevern · 16/08/2026 18:18

Off hand, the ending of Some Like It Hot when Osgood says "we'll work something out" after Jack Lemmon confesses to being a man.

Hamserfan · 16/08/2026 18:19

Just me that is shallow enough to love the cheesy scene where Keanu Reeves’ arms wrap around Sandra Bullock as they leave the bus on the board in Speed?! 🤣🤣

IdaGlossop · 16/08/2026 18:19

The seduction scene in The Piano.

HoldingOntoMySanity · 16/08/2026 18:19

I like the scene in The Remains of The Day where Emma Thompson is trying to prise the book out of Anthony Hopkins hand. He's just looking at her with such a gentle, hopeless longing.

ElizabethVonArnim · 16/08/2026 18:21

The scene behind the waterfall in Last of the Mohicans where Daniel Day Lewis does the ‘Stay alive, no matter what occurs. I will find you,’ speech and jumps into the waterfall.
