Mine is in Titanic (1997). The immediate aftermath of the ship hitting the iceberg and the reaction to it. I have seen the
film more times than I can count but bit still takes my breath away.

The kissing couples at the end of Cinema Paradiso.

When the animals all run down the field home in The Incredible Journey.

The cave scene in The English Patient 😢

The scene in This is England where Woody races out of the door to get to Lol at the hospital leaving the christmas he was having behind, so much raw feeling x

I don’t think that’s a film, that’s the series

Oh, I’ve just thought of another, and it’s bloody Richard Curtis again!

The “stop all the clocks” scene in 4 weddings.

Funeral Blues, great poem.

Emma Thompson bedroom, smoothing the bed down. Love Actually

I’m a bit of a film buff and generally hate Love Actually but this scene is outstanding. There’s something that she captures that resonates with all of us. It pulls the heart strings like no other scene I can think of in any movie.

I also love the later scene after the nativity where she has just confronted Alan Rickman, then turns around and snaps back into Mum Mode and hugs the children saying "darlings! You were wonderful!"

Mariel walking down the aisle to I Do, I Do, I Do by Abba in Muriel's Wedding.

Because of the sheer ridiculousness of it and how it just all of a sudden blasted out from speakers in the church startling everyone!

The English Patient is so sad! “I promise I’ll never leave you.”

Several scenes in the fugitive...

When Abileen stands up to hilly Holbrook in THE HELP

The Emma Thompson scene in LOVE ACTUALLY in the bedroom crying and smoothing the bed whilst playing JONI MITCHELL. What a pig Snape is!

The final scene in the way we were.

VisitingInkMonitor · 16/08/2026 20:58

Helena Bonham Carter kissing Julian Sands in a field of wheat in a Room with a View while Puccini plays over the scene. My God every time I watch that film I long to be a Victorian teenager in Florence. If you’ve not watched it you are missing an absolute treat.

SpottyAlpaca · 16/08/2026 20:59

The cooking scene in The Godfather when Clemenza teaches Michael how to make spaghetti with tomato sauce, meatballs & sausage because “you might have to cook for 20 guys one day”.

Beaniebabe1 · 16/08/2026 21:01

The funeral scene in Steel Magnolias. Sally Field is incredible and I cry every time

the80sweregreat · 16/08/2026 21:06

The ending of La La land. It’s not a great film, but the ending is so un Hollywood and poignant.

Sidge · 16/08/2026 21:07

In Monsters Inc when Sully says goodbye to Boo.

Lovely film, it was set in the Edwardian era. The book was written in 1908.

The aria in Philadelphia, so moving

LuckyHazelFox · 16/08/2026 21:10

Agree with Schindler's List and a Few Good Men

The Rock - the shower room scene

Bridges of Madison County - "this kind of certainly only comes around but once" (Clint Eastwood to Meryl Streep)

Zulu - When Michael Caine and Stanley Baker talk about who took their commission first.

Eyesopenwideawake · 16/08/2026 21:12

Oh. The end of Dead Poets Society;

"Oh Captain, my Captain."

"Thank you, boys. Thank you"

Just me that is shallow enough to love the cheesy scene where Keanu Reeves’ arms wrap around Sandra Bullock as they leave the bus on the board in Speed?! 🤣🤣

Love this! One of my fave films 🎥 🚌

For me - Notting Hill - the press conf and then the very end scene the garden

Lifecouldbeadreamsweetheart · 16/08/2026 21:13

Forrest Gump, where Jenny wades across the reflecting pool having seen Forrest make the speech. Or later on when she comes back to his house as he is mowing the grass. 'Then... One day... She was there.' Makes me go every single time.
