Mine is in Titanic (1997). The immediate aftermath of the ship hitting the iceberg and the reaction to it. I have seen the
film more times than I can count but bit still takes my breath away.

The funeral scene in Steel Magnolias. Sally Field is incredible and I cry every time

Oh my god, Steel Magnolias!! So many amazing scenes! I’m in floods every time I watch it!

The English Patient is so sad! “I promise I’ll never leave you.”

I know! I’ve watched it about 10 times and never find it less moving. And this bit:

Almasy - You're wearing the thimble.
Katherine - Of course, you idiot. I always wear it; I've always worn it; I've always loved you.

But when she’s in the cave and the light goes…

The final scene in the way we were.

Oh yes!!! I saw it at the pictures and cried all the way home in the bus and to this day the song makes me cry in the first few bars.

"How long is a day in the dark? Or a week? The fire is gone now, and I'm horribly cold... The lamp has gone out, and I'm writing in the darkness."

Never Been Kissed - When they meet at the baseball field.

I know. I know all the words to that song! Robert Redford was so handsome in that.

Has anyone seen It Ends With Us?

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 16/08/2026 21:23

The Stars scene in Jack and Sarah.

leavesinthebreeze · 16/08/2026 21:23

I haven’t seen a lot of these but am now going to google and watch them

hereismydog · 16/08/2026 21:23

The bit in Matilda where Mr Wormwood gets the hat stuck to his head. I laugh like an idiot every time!

Also that bit in LOTR: The Two Towers where Aragorn opens the doors to Helm’s Deep 😮‍💨

Dogma - Alan Rickman's 'Behold the Metatron' speech from entrance to ordering tequila.

I’m like a Ken doll down here! Love Dogma

I love the end of Pride - always makes me cry

and Grail shaped lanterns with Michael Palin looking beautiful!

Digerydont · 16/08/2026 21:24

Back in the day, I had a bit of work as an extra. I have not done anything since about 1990 when I got into IT. Problem is to name a film could be outing.

Was joining to say this. I adore this film from to start to finish.

And Field of dreams, again the whole film but I grin like a cheshire cat at James Earl Jones laughing as he enters the wheat field at the end.

And obviously not as high brow as most on here, but Avengers Endgame, "on your left"

Probably hundreds more but these are the ones that stand out.

LiveLuvLaugh · 16/08/2026 21:26

The final scene of Pride when the miners turn up to support the Pride March.

Mumteedum · 16/08/2026 21:27

I still absolutely love The Matrix. The beginning with Trinity being chased across the rooftops and the end when Neo finally knows he is The One in the subway. 😊

HOW COULD I HAVE FORGOTTEN ‘ON YOUR LEFT’ 😅

Goosebumps every single time.

'PUUTTIIING ON THE RIIIIIITZ!!!!'

And also the scene with the blind hermit in the cottage - the comic timing in that scene is 😙👌...

(I speak, of course, of the whole film-length comedy masterclass that is Young Frankenstein...).

"Super Duper"

Off hand, the ending of Some Like It Hot when Osgood says "we'll work something out" after Jack Lemmon confesses to being a man.

“ Nobody’s perfect “

I like the scene where Alice choses death on the mountain cliff. Jodhi May is beautiful in it!

Edited

This. I like the following scene where if is Hawkeye’s adoptive father that takes down the baddie rather than DDL himself as you would expect as he is the “hero”.
Obviously that entire sequence and music is fantastic.

Eukanuba · 16/08/2026 21:28

The kitchen table scene in Moonstruck where the family are waiting for Johnnie Camareri ( Cher's fiancé.) It's a masterclass in acting from Olympia Dukakis and Vincent Gardenia .

Goosebumps every single time.

And before that when Thor’s hammer moves and you just know it’s going to Cap.

MyWildOliveGoose · 16/08/2026 21:29

Practical Magic, Sals letter to Gilly.. “there is no man Gilly, only that moon.” 🌙 🥺

worldshottestmom · 16/08/2026 21:30

Not a film (soz) but I loveeee the shoot out scene in Peaky Blinders season 6 episode 6, as well as the michael/tommy finale in the same episode.

Also the end of the Blair Witch Project where he's just stood facing the wall in the corner of the room. No mainstream cinematic jump scare trash, just eery, creepy and somehow realistic.

Siriusmuggle · 16/08/2026 21:30

Twin town. At the end when there’s a huge male voice choir singing on mumbles pier “he wanted to be buried at sea you see”.

Me again…
Silver Linings Playbook: ‘read between the lines…’

My Cousin Vinny: Marisa Tomei as the expert witness ‘The defence is wrong’….her NYC accent is brilliant

Good Will Hunting: ‘it’s not your fault….’ has me in tears every time

Good Will Hunting - the best scene for me is Robin Williams pinning Matt Damon to the wall for disrespecting his wife. Fantastic acting.
