What colour is my hair (photo)

I was platinum blonde as a young child darkening to a lightish honey blonde as a teen. Nowadays I'd probably consider myself mousy, albeit on the lighter end of mouse. I don't think I'm quite dark enough to be brown haired. Three times this weekend I've been referred to as a redhead/strawberry blonde. This has surprised me, as I've never thought of my hair as red at all!

I'm in my 50s my hair is completely natural and I have a small amount of grey, but not much. My hair is probably a bit lighter than usual as I do get natural blonde highlights in the sun, which there's been plenty of this year. There's quite a mix of colours in my hair, it's never been one uniform shade because it lightens so easily in the sun.

So what colour would you describe my hair as?

I used to work with a lovely lady who was nearing retirement. She had a great head of pure white hair. However, in conversation, she would refer to her blonde hair. At first I thought I had misheard, but she definitely thought of herself as blonde, which she probably was in her younger days. I do think blonde and grey/white hair looks completely different in different light.

This. ^ As has been said, when someone was originally blonde, (as a child/teen/very young person,) they find it hard to let go of that 'blonde' identity.

A woman I know on Facebook is always posting pics with taglines like 'Blondes Have More Fun' and 'Hot Blonde Wednesday!' Her hair is this colour... I feel like saying 'dude, you're not blonde!' 😆

I kind of get that. I mean I say I’m a redhead, I have the gene, the anaesthetic issues, I was born with red hair and was up until late 30s but it’s faded so much. Am I still a redhead or is that like the blonde thing?!

I'd say strawberry blond.

Sorry OP but if you think your hair is mousey then you’re colourblind. Mousey hair is cool toned and yours is very clearly warm. I would say strawberry blonde

Wow OP how are you so angry about a hair colour. It looks brown with a tint of red on my screen also. Maybe it looks lighter on others phones. No need to be so angry you haven't been told it's the colour you want it to be.

Ask yout friends or hairdresser they can tell you what they think it is in real life.

You're the only one acting as if it's an insult.

The highlights you are seeing are white hair coming through, white hair is what people refer to as gre. Grey hair is a fallacy, it’s white hairs mixed with other coloured hair.

Brown

Ypu defo have the red head gene if you are hardly grey in your 50s. I have it too and can get a lot of natural highlights in summer. In winter I can look dark donkey brown/grey.

Definitely looks blonde to me. Can’t see any grey or brown 🤔
