Im sure they'll be lots of judgement on here as always but here we go

I really wish I hadn't married my 1st husband. He was a loser and still is.
I find 99% of kids so dull

I'm not nice.
I would never be actively unkind but I never really want to put myself out for someone else. That includes loved ones.
I pretend to be nice and I do do things for other people but deep down it's a chore and I'd rather not.

Same

That Glaswegians are not actually that friendly. The ‘banter’ is just a persona that they love about themselves - see tartan army etc.
Generally very very parochial too.

I have to disagree with this one. Okay, I'm just outside Glasgow but I think most people are friendly, I generally will have a few words with at least one stranger every time I'm in the city centre, not to mention where I Iive. I also don't see any difference in parochial thinking than anywhere else. Not really fair to generalise just because you've made assumptions about a few Glaswegians you know.

Although I guess that's the whole point of this thread - things you don't feel you can say outloud or you'd have reactions like mine 😅

I am ready for the flaming but here goes:

I have no time for people who have mental health issues who don't at least try and help themselves and take some personal responsibility for their health.

Eg. Someone is very anxious and can't cope. They are professionally advised to get more sleep than the current 5 hours a night they get and get outside more/get off their devices. They ignore this advice and instead prefer to take medication. They don't magically feel better and can't understand it.

I have trouble sympathising because they could help themselves feel better in a way say a type 1 diabetic will never be able to because no amount of possitive attitude is going to regrow beta cells.

Pisses me right off and yes, I am thinking of someone I know.

I'm one of the people that you talk about and I agree with you 10000%. I annoy me.

CoffeeCantata · Yesterday 18:51

Oh - I can't stand fish. I was a veggie for many years and now eat a very small amount of meat. But my dear friend thinks fish is the answer for someone who was a veggie. I hate it. It manages both to stink and yet somehow have no flavour - no umami. Salmon (which I always get) is the worst with its sickly sweetness and horrible colour.

She always cooks it and the time to break this news to her has passed, so I'll just have to keep chewing.

That children with step parents should be put on a safe guarding register with their school and multiple partner changes should be flagged as a welfare concern.

So many shit parents out there putting their kids at risk and making their lives a misery because 'they have a right to be happy". Selfish behaviour that creates generational misery.

And yes, we see the effects in the school playground. Fed up of seeing poor miserable faces because mum's new boyfriend shouted at them or dad's new girlfriend was bitching about mummy.

You're screwing your kids lives up.

I think most people are stupid.

Totally agree - absolute idiots.

I really dislike stupid kids too - not talking the ones who are a bit daft but the genuinely weird ones that behave in ways that can only be because they are stupid.

Guess those stupid adults have to come from somewhere!

As a person with horrendous mental health issues I agree. There comes a point when you have to do some
of the work yourself. I work extremely hard to maintain my sanity! Medication is part of it but not the be all
and end all. I will say… if you are deep in the throes of an episode it really isn’t just as easy as picking yourself up. Sometimes it’s just too hard and it just doesn’t happen.

Thirded. I resent the fuck out of people who aren't like that (looking at you, bone idle, selfish SIL) because they don't care as much about what people think of them and I wish I was like that. In my nastier moments, though, I comfort myself with the fact that I'm a 9-10 and she's about a 5. It all evens out

What about friendships? Have you made genuine ones through your volunteering etc?

I have made friends but they are superficial, partly because those people are busy with the things I don’t have.Their Family, partner, etc.

When I dish up dinner for me, DH and the kids I give my self the best bit.. crispy roast potatoes in the tray go on my plate, lasagna abit crap around the edge, kids can have that bit.

Perks of the chef, imo.

Thank you, and I'm so sorry your DD is that way. It must be infuritating. In my defense, I do try not to let my bad moods affect others too much, but if I'm honest I probably don't do quite as good a job of that as I'd like to think.

CatLandOffTheA3 · Yesterday 18:57

I regret buying my ex out of this house when he buggered off with the OW. I wish I had let him have it because I hate the locals, they are appalling grabby, skanks but my ND neighbour is the worst. If I could get away with it, I would strap on my steel toe cap boots and I would go around there and kick him until he was dead but he's not worth it.

He has spent the last twenty years trying to make my life difficult. I never rise to it because it would give him pleasure so I just let it all wash over me and pretend I don't notice. He then escalates and I just laugh but I can't live like this forever. I will sell to Hells Angels if I can.

I dislike a close friend’s young daughter. Feels very mean to feel that way about a child but there it is.

@GenEx Hard disagree. I’m sure there are wrong’uns in Glasgow, just like anywhere, but I’ve been many, many times and it’s one of the friendliest cities I’ve ever visited

Secretsquirrel2 · Yesterday 19:00

That I'm fucking ecstatic that after 8 long years my daughter's dropped the transman persona. No more James, no more compression vests.

I bought her new underwear and I could do a dance around the house.
The pain and heartbreak has been hell.

ComtesseDeSpair
When I ride my bicycle, I like to pretend I’m riding a horse. I have a whole cross country course on my commute to work with different speed bumps as jumps and sometimes I score myself for the approach. As I run through the Greenwich Foot Tunnel pushing the bicycle, I’m competing in the in-hand section of the gaited pony show.
It passes the time.

I do that on the train sometimes, as we pass hedges I pretend I’m jumping them!

OMG I do this too ❤️🤣

Neuronimo · Yesterday 19:02

That when I lose weight the girl that said that my head is too big for my body, repeatedly at school was correct. That was the one compensation about getting wider!😅
