Im sure they'll be lots of judgement on here as always but here we go

I really wish I hadn't married my 1st husband. He was a loser and still is.
I find 99% of kids so dull

Can’t you just say in conversation “do you know what, I’ve been going off salmon recently. I had some (whatever you would prefer) though and I really like that now! Isn’t it funny after being veggie!” Surely there’s no reason to torture yourself.

Personally I always think salmon is hugely overrated.

I am ready for the flaming but here goes:

I have no time for people who have mental health issues who don't at least try and help themselves and take some personal responsibility for their health.

Eg. Someone is very anxious and can't cope. They are professionally advised to get more sleep than the current 5 hours a night they get and get outside more/get off their devices. They ignore this advice and instead prefer to take medication. They don't magically feel better and can't understand it.

I have trouble sympathising because they could help themselves feel better in a way say a type 1 diabetic will never be able to because no amount of possitive attitude is going to regrow beta cells.

Pisses me right off and yes, I am thinking of someone I know.

Absolutely this. So tired of being expected to be endlessly supportive to people who are aren't willing to do much for themselves.

@sluggishI agree and often find the media picks out very odd examples to froth about. I always wonder who is behind it trying to derail the current govt. Like another poster on here I think we should be using prisoners for more hard labour - clearing the dumping sites and fixibg leaks in water pipes - effectively learning skills we need in the country that make it better.

PineappleCandy · Today 08:25

I'm 40 and have never been in a relationship or had sex.

I spent most of my 20-30s caring for my mum who was unwell and it just never happened. My siblings managed to escape but as the oldest it fell to me to do all of the appointments, emergency hospital visits, and organize everything. Having to be home overnight in case she had a flare or a fall, and dealing with that.

I had no choice because there was no one else to do it and she would have died if I hadn't taken care of her but now she's passed I'm realizing just how much of my life I lost. I resent it, and my siblings for letting me carry it all by myself. I'm probably never going to have children of my own and it makes me incredibly sad at times.

Dontcallmescarface · Today 08:27

I'm very happy that DD has chosen not to have children as I never wanted grandchildren.

Mistachio · Today 08:29

I have a tendency to daydream ridiculously implausible scenarios. Beat these 😳

I can communicate with animals.

Im a vampire in the manner of the Twilight Universe and have tracked down Hannibal Lecter and told him I know who he is. He naturally attacks me and of course I easily overpower him. He’s pretty surprised.

I can see and communicate with spirits (I am a hard line skeptic and have no time for any claims of woo nature).

Probably loads more.

I realise that my daydreams revolve around having some sort of special power. Probably because I’ve always lacked self esteem.

Oh and I always used to imagine I was on a horse when I rode my bike even as an adult. And when travelling as a passenger regardless of the mode of transport I’m galloping across the fields and jumping all the hedges.

I struggled to congratulate a colleague who announced her first pregnancy, knowing the appalling state of maternity care in UK, I of course did not mention that I had PTSD after birth of my only child, I find it hard to understand why you would go through labour more than once and If I had have got pregnant again I would definitely have terminated.

GinaOaktree · Today 08:31

So many things…. I’ve had sex with 2 of my friends partners, both before they were together, still see and socialise with them now.
I prefer my daughter to my son, she’s an absolute ray of light, he is often very hard work, complains a lot and I suspect slightly ND. I try to treat them the same and hope no one would ever notice. I love him but often don’t like him.

I don’t necessarily believe in monogamy and see so many men having affairs and their partners are oblivious ( I work in a very male dominated industry)

BountifulPantry · Today 08:32

@Mistachio i think loads of people walk around with stories and daydreams constantly in their heads. Authors, film directors etc must do this in order to come up with their ideas.

Also life can be pretty dull can’t it?

ThatCyanCat · Today 08:34

BountifulPantry · Today 08:22

I’m really embarrassed by my book choices. I basically only read romantacy smut. The more unhinged the male romantic lead the better. love a literary red flag man.

Meanwhile in real life I have a lovely bf who spends his evenings tinkering with computers. Defo not a red flag.

That's why you fantasise about the walking liability. We don't fantasise about stuff that's really happening - that's what makes it fantasy.

If you wanted that in reality, you'd pursue it. Fantasies aren't reality, they are totally safe and you can withdraw at any time. You are actually in control the entire time. People fantasise about stuff they'd never want to happen in reality, but it's just fiction, safe, not real.

Agree. I think we’ve gone from MH being a stigma to now everyone endlessly talking about it. Talking and taking no action!

People wear their diagnoses like it’s their whole personality.

CoffeeAndACroissant · Today 08:35

Your dog doesn't have separation anxiety. You've just failed to train it properly and are using it as an emotional crutch.

Reform / Restore voters are all as thick as pigshit. No exceptions.

Most of the costs associated with Adult Social Care could have been avoided if people had lived healthier lifestyles and taken more responsibility for their health and wellbeing.

Amberlynnswashcloth · Today 08:36

CoffeeCantata · Yesterday 18:47

I could have written that!

I was a teacher - and a good one - honestly. But I don't love children as a species. Some I like, and some I don't - just as I would with adults. They are individuals. I have a particular aversion to little girls in KS2...I'm shuddering just thinking about them. They are desperate to be teenagers and their aping of teenage fashion/interests/activities strikes me as very, very irritating. There are always exceptions - some girls don't follow the crowd.

Yes - I'm watering a tree in my garden too. I've seen so many dead and dying ones on my travels this week and we can't afford to lose trees. I'd rather have a 'wartime bath' and use the water someone might have in a 15 minute shower to keep it alive.

I'd go further to add that little girls especially at this stage can be very nasty to their peers and manipulative with adults. Some know how to put on the tears in order to get away with murder. The one who comes crying first is not necessarily the victim.

RuinartRuination · Today 08:38

Happyjoe · Yesterday 23:19

Not too sure what you mean by we pander to it though?

For example, do you recall that teacher up in Bayley Grammar school who is now in hiding for his life? That should have been clamped down on, but the guy has broadly been left to fend for himself.

The fact that the rape/grooming gang scandal was brushed under the carpet for so many years due to successive governments and public bodies paralysed by fear of seeming racist or Islamophobic.

Even the fact that they adhere to Ramadan in prisons in what is a secular country. You should lose those types of privileges in prison. I guess that’s because 18% of the prison population in England and Wales is Muslim vs 6% of the population.

DD10 has been subjected to some awful behaviour by one girl in her class who has amazed me (not in a good way) with her manipulative behaviour. Never realised before this year that 10 year olds could be that nasty in a clever way!

I can’t STAND my SIL’s dogs. I see them more than I’d like as SIL lives with the PIL’s. But God they are the loudest, whining wee bastards I’ve ever met. Jumping up at me when I arrive. Scrabbling all over me when I sit down. Barking at every shadow or movement. It is hell on earth being anywhere near them. I fully appreciate that this is not the dogs’ fault and that they should be trained. But the worst part is having to plaster a smile on and pretend I’m ok with it all because they already think I’m a weirdo for waiting until they calm down to pet them. Apparently I should pet them to get them to shut up help them calm down. But my ears are ringing and my nervous system is overloaded.

Aaaah, that’s better😆

Omg that sounds horrific. I cannot stand owners of badly trained dogs, especially when they make ridiculous excuses you for their dog's behaviour...

Aww, don't worry, she's friendly, as she wipes her mucky paws all over your clean clothes.

Aww, she's growling because she doesn't like your hat.

Aww, that's not nipping, that's just his way of saying hello.

Aww, she only bit you because you weren't quick enough to move away.

Aww, he's only barking because he doesn't like what you had for breakfast.

AND,

You're right, you should not pet a dog that's jumping up at you, it's only going to encourage it to do it more.

No, you have to request them formally via medical records like anybody else would. Usually you’d be given a printout of a scan at the time so would have a paper copy, I don’t know why but I wasn’t given anything to take home and I just desperately wanted to see it and if it gave any hope at all I wasn’t miscarrying. But the disproportionate anxiety I’ve felt since then has been much worse.

I don’t know for sure but given how quickly it was publicised last week that people had viewed Minnie Merriman’s notes (the wee girl found dead in Scotland) I’d hope after this length of time you would be ok. You only saw what you were entitled to even though you bypassed official routes. It’s not like you looked at someone else’s

When people talk about losing seven plus stones, I am genuinely shocked. How could they have put on the weight of an entire adult human in the first place.

I spent half of my adult life comfort eating to cope with the unbearable stress and anxiety I was going through.

I am worried about what will happen to me when i am old and frail. I dont want dd to have to look after me and I dont want to waste her inheritance on my care. I am a single parent and am lucky to own our home but with the prices going up she will have to pay IHT on it (I never married and her dad is no contact and never paid naintebance, so the limit lower than most families). It depresses me I am happy to commit suicide when I get too frail to simplify things but that that will probably mean she has to sell the home she grew up in. It feels like a first world problem which is weird.

You won't necessarily have to pay for care, the majority of elderly people live independently at home all their lives. Stop fretting!

I used to wish this sometimes when my kids were young (lazy ex husband absolutely everything left to me) - but not a stroke or a heart attack, jeez that could ruin your life.

I used to wish I could have a car accident though, just be banged up enough to be in hospital for a month. I think that's actually a really common fantasy for overworked mums unfortunately :(

In a similar vein I wouldn’t mind a bereavement so I could get some time off work. Not anyone I actually care about, but my FIL would be quite convenient, he’s an old wanker anyway

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · Today 08:45

I am generally very laid back and 'live and let live', unbothered by how other people do things and live their lives.

But whenever I hear my neighbour spending half an hour persuading her (NT) DD to get into the car to go wherever neighbour needs to go, when her DD wants to sit at home and watch TV (DD is 10), I grit my teeth and internally scream "shove her in the car and drive away!" The negotiations, the blackmail, the bribery that I have to listen to brings out the 'slap her legs and lock her in the house!' in me. Naturally I don't advise doing that, but listening to the way her DD rules the roost and makes her mum suffer just for daring to take her out makes me want to.

Secretsquirrel2 · Today 08:46

@PineappleCandy I understand.
I was a carer too.
I put on 8 stone.
I ate everything to hand and nearly drank myself to death. My siblings did fuck all.

You've done so well already to lose four stone.
You're only 40!
Fwiw I've lost six stone. It's taken three years but I know I won't put it back on because I can now look at myself in the mirror.

Getting married is a big regret of my life.

Having a child is THE big regret of my life.

Everyone says it gets better but he’s four now and I still hate basically every single day of motherhood. Even when it’s good, it’s not as good as feeling free.

Very honest 💕 😘
