Im sure they'll be lots of judgement on here as always but here we go

I really wish I hadn't married my 1st husband. He was a loser and still is.
I find 99% of kids so dull

OP posts:

Still blows my mind that we all exist but nobody had any control over being here at all and only because two people decided to have sex ( majority of the time , I know it’s not like that for every child born with IVF and so on) and how one may be born to extreme wealth and others so poor. Just how many sperm the average man has and we were all once a sperm and an egg.
Sorry if none of that makes sense .

OMG you beat me to it lol.

I've been using MN for 15 years and wouldn't tell a soul.

Same! My guilty secret.

When people talk about losing seven plus stones, I am genuinely shocked. How could they have put on the weight of an entire adult human in the first place.

the80sweregreat · Yesterday 03:57

I am two stone overweight and trying to lose it.,
ds2 is very overweight and he can’t seem to motivate himself to lose it and I feel he should. He put it on at Uni and I hate seeing him so big . He knows what to do.
I feel sad there isn’t more I can do to help him ( doesn’t live with me)
I feel bad for judging him , but I know other people do too.

That I really dislike my life. I don’t even know what it is about it but if I could rewind and start again I’d make so many different choices.

Me too ! Hard to live with regrets isnt it .

Augustus40 · Yesterday 04:17

It is easier dead than alive. I am not at all suicidal though. We come from the source and we go back to the source after each incarnation. I strongly believe in karma reincarnation and past lives. Life gets harder and harder after each lifetime. Our close relatives and friends that have passed on are all waiting to greet us on the astral plane. As are our deceased pets. The celestial sphere is joyful and living on the earthly plane is challenging.
Wow sorry I did not mean to type so much!

the80sweregreat · Yesterday 04:20

Gosh, not looking forwards to life being harder in the next life then Augustus 40 ! Or does it depend on what we are doing in tne current life that determines what happens next ?

Ilovr · Yesterday 05:07

That I use mumsnet

I regret my field of study, it's completely useless and now it's too late.

I absolutely love my husband and kids but I'm such an unhappy person deep down inside, one would never say.. They don't know. I just feel so empty.. So sad.

I talk to myself in the mirror and create scenarios in my head, act out scripts, sometimes imagine worst case scenarios and even cry ( is this normal)? Cringe *

I will play also a song, imagine myself living a good life, being the boss, being admired and inspiring.. Cringe.. I just feel I'm a yearner at heart.

I would never get married without being financially stable again and independent. Ever

My nipples are no longer as sensetive as before I had my kids and I miss that, I love having them suckd and pinchd during sex but the feeling is no longer as intense

My SIL ( married to husbands brother) irritates me so much, she's a people pleaser, perfect suzie, find her low key competitive. Always talking about how perfect her marriage and husband is. Is in MILs ass all the time.Seeking non stop validation from her. She's also very judgemental and holier then though . She drains me..

Work colleague calls her 11 year old son her daughter. I think she's brain washed him. He is a wreck who won't go to school. He's sure he's a girl. The Girl Guides thing broke his heart, he was 'so longing for Brownie adventures.'

I knew she'd do this to him. I knew years ago. He was 5 or 6 when she first started suggesting 'what if he's not actually a little boy..?' She's always been an absolute bore about her own sexuality. She just about threw herself a 'I'm coming out as bi' party.

I think teenage years will finish him.

Absolutely tragic. That’s child abuse. The poor boy.

GetAbsOrDieTrying · Yesterday 05:34

That having a man besotted with you is quite enjoyable. Should have married the one who couldn’t keep his hands off me. I thought passion was overrated and stability was more important, now I’m not so sure.

DriveMeCrazy1974 · Yesterday 05:37

When I'm a passenger in a car, or, on the rare occasions I use public transport, I sometimes imagine I'm in a music video from the 1980s. I might put the air conditioning on and pretend I'm in some video where the wind machine is making my hair look fabulous while I'm singing some power ballad or other. Or, on other days, I might be on a bus, looking out wistfully as life goes by.
I'd never admit that to anybody I know, they'd think I was bonkers!

I literally said this to my therapist today.

What did she say?
sometimes I crave when I’m unwell to be looked after. Just for a few hours.

That I cannot stand most of the other people in my department at work and often feel like I'm from another planet when I have to interact with them. I've had great colleagues in other workplaces but this one is just awful.

And that there are many times I want to run away from my domestic caring responsibilities but can't as they rely on me.

OhFFS26 · Yesterday 05:54

I agree with you. People like Phillip Schofield who people say are terribly brave I think are just selfish fuckers. I was delighted when his career went down the toilet. His poor wife.

This. I cannot believe the sheer bloody effrontery of him, standing there admitting he stole this woman's life and youth and saying oh but poor poor me. Bastard.

RiceBubbless · Yesterday 05:56

OhFFS26 · 11/08/2026 23:23

How odd that you are so low in empathy and yet love kids. I have kids and adore them, they were my total life for their whole young lives and are still massively important in my life as young adults.

But I am capable of theory of mind and have empathy and therefore able to see other people's point of view.

It's good you generally keep this to yourself, it does make you sound really weird.

Why the pile on? This thread is to say opinions you would not out loud and a previous comment re being widowed was rightly called out. I actually think the same as the op but for good reasons don't say it out loud.

@ComtesseDeSpair I do this too! And also wouldn't admit it in real life.

Sometimes, on a long cycle, I pretend I'm competing in the Tour de France.

ComtesseDeSpair

I also do this.

Sometimes when I’m driving alone, I pretend I’m driving a horse and carriage.
I use all the commands.

Me too

I wouldn’t either but my kid has seen me a couple of times and announced it in front of a lot of people 🤷🏻‍♀️
Once I saw my mother from the perspective of us being equal (eg adults, with own family etc) I realized if we weren’t related I wouldn’t want to do anything with her.
i also don’t like staying overnight at peoples houses - hotels are different. Especially if I don’t have an ensuite bathroom.

They would not be okay with it so that’s why I don’t say it out loud!

Ah, OK. Glad you're having a great time, though! Is it possible to say how you met him?

Namechangeeeee1 · Yesterday 06:02

Apart from my DD, if I could re live my life I'd have different family. Siblings, parents, other relatives. The lot. I've never felt truly loved by my family. Always felt like my existence was a sore point for them. They always found something negative in anything I do or don't do. My DD is the only family member who I feel truly loved by.

I am a single parent, and one reason why I haven't settled down yet is because I am embarrassed by my family. I'll probably meet the one later on in life. At the moment I'm just telling everyone I'm happier single.

I've become actively suicidal in the last year.

I've had many depressive times in my life, I've had suicidal ideation since I was a young child, but it was always the passive belief I'd heard others tell me - that they would be happier if I was gone, that it would be a relief for others not to be burdened by me - along with the passing thoughts around what could kill me.

About a year ago, I started having ideas about death as relief for me rather than others for the first time. Some days, it's only been reminding myself of the things I've not yet done, usually for/with my kids and husband, that keeps me back. Some days I swing between existential dread of not having enough time for all I want to do and thinking it sounds nice, peaceful, that peaceful is all I want. Never had either before about a year ago.

I haven't even brought myself to be able to tell the new AI chatbots my local services use for mental health care, as I fear the consequences of admitting it to anyone or anything with official capacity or to my loved ones.

The only thing that's really changed is the new job I started about 18 months ago, a job where 95% of people are fine, work goes well most of the time, but that 5% of colleagues do seem to wear me down a lot more than they really should, it feels like constant mental gymnastics trying to work with them. I've become concerned I'm going to get my death wish from the stress of that 5%.

I'll also admit that a colleague made me cry this week. I'm in my 40s, over sensitive, and crying in the work toilet this week because a manager had asked me help a new colleague as the person who was with her was busy with a member of the public, and while I was helping, busy person stormed up, snatched the paper out of my hand and snapped at me as she continued to storm past, a colleague who otherwise ignores me and has made it clear since well before I got the promotion over her mentee (who tried to wing the interview) that she wants nothing to do with me and that I don't belong here. I don't like that it impacted me that much, I seem to have lost the ability to let it wash over me all that in the last year. I can grey rock/blank it for a moment, then once I can leave, I'm falling apart. I want to stop caring about the 5%'s rudeness and enjoy the rest, I just can't seem to get my brain to go with that anymore. This incident was reported by the first manager who saw it and that I left upset to my manager, but when my manager asks if I'm okay/if there is anything she can do, I've no idea what to say so I just smile and say I'm okay now. No point adding to her workload for what feels like school bullshit.

@TiredShadows

Im sorry you are feeling like this. I can totally understand but sadly have no advice of how to not feel like it. (Well the only thing that’s worked for me is a high dose of anti depressants.)

That I wish I never had kids. I absolutely gave everything to them - far more than I should have done. They are adults and are really quite shitty to me. Im quite ashamed of how thoughtless and unkind they are. My nieces, and stepchildren treat me way better. They all forgot my birthday, and when I told them I was upset they just dont care.

I secretly wish sometimes that I never had them, but also that I was less of a 'good' mother - and just was a bit more selfish - because where did it get me?

Im having a hard few days tbh. I know this feeling will pass. But yeh, i cant admit this feeling out loud.

”How sharper than a serpent’s tooth it is to have a thankless child”

This quote springs to mind several times a day.

Unfortunately King Lear and I have a lot in common. I never imagined we would have when I was studying all those years ago!

Pinkgorilla101 · Yesterday 06:20

I absolutely detest the way everyone is on a “journey”.
”Oh my weight loss journey is going so well”. “No love - you’re on a diet”.
”We are just started our pregnancy journey” “FFS you’re pregnant, you’re gonna get fat and then go through a lot of pain to push it out - it’s how we all got here”

Secretsquirrel2 · Yesterday 06:27

That I never want to work again. I want to watch countdown, sit on my arse, eat crisps and cheese and shag my husband daily (he's lovely, rare I know). I've done my bit. I've worked since I was 12 as I had hand me downs as a child and a bullying family.

I have three millionaire friends who are as tight as a ducks arse. Two I'm dropping because they're fucking smug selfish arseholes. I don't like their husbands or politics ( which I suspect are the husband's).

I'd also like to drink champagne but as someone who has overcome an alcohol dependency I can't tell anyone that I think about booze every day. I'm not cured and it helped me through two house repossessions (due to serious illness and no financial help) and CSA.

I'd like to live in a two bed cottage by the seaside and my extended family can do one. I don't want space for others or to cook for them.
No one bar my niece helped me when I was given two years to live and I'm not giving them a penny when I sell my company shares.
