Im sure they'll be lots of judgement on here as always but here we go

I really wish I hadn't married my 1st husband. He was a loser and still is.
I find 99% of kids so dull

The death penalty should be brought back for some cases

I've been feeling that way too about certain cases. Morally and intellectually I loathe the death penalty, but some cases are so heinous I wish they'd let a group of women spend ten minutes alone with the perps and finish them off.

TellySavalashairbrush · 11/08/2026 23:39

That I sometimes long to have something like a mild stroke or heart attack just to get the chance to rest properly . I work full time, regularly babysit my young grandchildren and have a very lazy husband who has never contributed to household chores.I feel like I will never get the opportunity just to rest, be looked after by someone for a little while and think about myself just for once.

I used to wish this sometimes when my kids were young (lazy ex husband absolutely everything left to me) - but not a stroke or a heart attack, jeez that could ruin your life.

I used to wish I could have a car accident though, just be banged up enough to be in hospital for a month. I think that's actually a really common fantasy for overworked mums unfortunately :(

OneLimeDuck · 11/08/2026 23:43

That if our daughters had to lose a parent at such a young age it would have been better if it had been me and not their mother.

I do this in the car! And I also have a horse and occasionally, after a bad day with her, long for the drive home in my Jill's Gymkhana world!

Jill’s Gymkhana! I loved that book so much

So childless people are self-indulgent and empty? That's very honest of you!
There's many reasons why people don't or can't have children and I honestly feel sorry for you that you think the only worthwhile purpose in life is to breed.

Indeed, and they'd best hope their own kids don't leave the country, cut contact or simply not choose to have kids of their own. They'd also better hope that they're actually allowed to babysit their grandchildren assuming they have some- because otherwise, according to their own beliefs, they will have no purpose in life. What a strange, empty way to look at existence (spoken as a mother who adores her grown up kids and found raising them mainly very fulfilling).

That I hate to see babies and toddlers with pierced ears, I think it looks so chavvy. Just as bad are the stupid big bows on headbands that mums put on newborns

Couldn’t agree more.

Liftamon · 11/08/2026 23:50

My mum collected waifs and strays all her life and opened her arms to anyone in need. She is an amazing woman and our whole community views her quite rightly as a saint. But it was, and still is, incredibly hard to be her actual child.

When I ride my bicycle, I like to pretend I’m riding a horse. I have a whole cross country course on my commute to work with different speed bumps as jumps and sometimes I score myself for the approach. As I run through the Greenwich Foot Tunnel pushing the bicycle, I’m competing in the in-hand section of the gaited pony show.

It passes the time.

Edited

I sometimes do this in my car but it’s showjumping. I count my strides down to jumping to fence (hitting a shadow).

That I have a favourite child.

Thanks for admitting it. One of the last taboos. I think most women have a favourite child. My mother does and it's caused me no end of heartache. I wish she could just be honest.

blinkisbirthday · 11/08/2026 23:56

@hesgettingtheegg what number is your favourite? I have a theory its never the middle

I am definitely in favour of the death penalty for child rapists, anyone found with child rape material etc. What I generally don't say out loud is that if you say you're not, I assume you're either a monster or covering for one.

I absolutely believe, 100%, that the only correct, human response to finding out someone is a child rapist is wanting them dead. If you don't instantly feel that, I don't trust you at all and people who claim that's inhuman have something really wrong with them.

And people who pretend killing a monster is the same as being a monster are to be avoided generally as they lack compassion and empathy and humanity. The human, kind, compassionate and empathetic thing is to remove the beasts from the flock, they should be exterminated just like we would a rabid dog in a flock of sheep.

Those two gay men who purchased a child and raped the poor wee innocent to death - no way should they still be allowed to steal money from taxpayers or breath in and out.

I finally realised a few years ago that people really do show you who they are all the time and there's only one reason anyone argues against the death penalty for child rapists and that's that they think they might be capable of monstrous things, or already have done monstrous things, or they're covering for someone who does.

Or they just don't care, at all, about the victims. No shred of compassion at all.

Here come the "but wadabout de innocents condemend to defffff!!!" claims. There are almost none. Nearly every person in prison is there for a reason, and people are not jailed for horrific crimes based on no evidence - no matter what Hollywood and your FB group has taught you. Millions, however, are harmed and murdered by child rapists. So it's a simple equation, putting down the rabid monsters saves far, far, far more people than it ever harms, and that's that.

I wouldn't say that out loud though because I wouldn't want to draw the attention of the sort of person who'd argue with my points. Those people really, really creep me out.

I think you and I are on the same page, and thinking about the same case. (Baby Preston?) Reading about what that poor wee soul went through is going to haunt me for the rest of my life, and the utter hatred and anger I have towards those two men, well, it's a good thing they're in prison, although one of them won't be at some point in the future, and I would very much like to kill that bastard. I don't think I'd have it in me, unless someone hurt my child like that, and then I might.
There's been other cases recently of children being murdered, and I loathe Isabelle Welsh's mum for allowing her boyfriend to sexually and physically abuse her daughter. My DS is the same age as she was when she died, and I cannot comprehend putting a man above my child.

I'm not in favour of it because it feels like the easy way out for them. I'm also not in favour of it because death row and the lengthy appeals that come with it are also incredibly expensive to taxpayers, more so than throwing them in prison for the rest of their lives.

To me, the state having a legal right to kill someone is a slippery slope. Would i actually care if a child rapist was killed? No, of course not but history shows us that it would likely never end just there and eventually, the death penalty would just be the norm like it is in some states in the US and I don't want to live in a place like that.

Many moons ago I worked in the press and was handed a list of registered sex offenders against children, It was handed into the newspaper, I presume from a naughty policeman or something of the like.

This was a list several pages long, about 20 sheets, line after line of sex offenders. Just for one town. A well off but small town in SE. it was. It was something that will stay with me - the sheer number of men in just one town and I presumed repeated up and down the country, with a record for sexual harm against minors. These are the ones who have been caught and prosecuted to, how many more go unpunished? Far more common than most people realise and I think what you say is true, far too many people wouldn't like the death penalty because it could be them.

I worry that I'll never recover when my parents die. I had a very normal 1970s childhood, my parents never had much money but my siblings and I all agree that we had a wonderful childhood. We all felt completely loved and accepted just as we were, and we still do! I'm married with my own children now but I still feel so loved by my parents and I can't imagine my life without them

I envy you

Work colleague calls her 11 year old son her daughter. I think she's brain washed him. He is a wreck who won't go to school. He's sure he's a girl. The Girl Guides thing broke his heart, he was 'so longing for Brownie adventures.'

I knew she'd do this to him. I knew years ago. He was 5 or 6 when she first started suggesting 'what if he's not actually a little boy..?' She's always been an absolute bore about her own sexuality. She just about threw herself a 'I'm coming out as bi' party.

I think teenage years will finish him.

That I dislike seeing tattoos on anyone, but especially on nurses and other medical staff, and people working with food. Makes them seem unhygienic. Which I know is irrational, but the impression remains.

I assume most women do this to some extent.

I think you’ve assumed wrongly. I literally couldn’t give a flying fig about what other women look like or what they may think I look like - I only dress to please myself. Someone can look conventionally “beautiful” but be an ugly person inside.

I wish I could be the priority for a while, with everyone nurturing me.

Oh yes, that would be great. I wish there was a club for people like us and we could take turns being looked after for just a couple of days. It would be lovely.

I’m the opposite, I’d bloody love to have sex but there’s no one to have sex with and I can’t be bothered with all the dating nonsense. Plus anyone I fancy would never fancy me.

Frightening but sadly true how much of his out there. I truly believe the only way to fight it is just death, death to all of them.

Mother of 3 but when alone at home I love to dance. Not cool dancing more jumping around and pretending I got cool moves. The crazy and intense type and I’m exhausted afterwards. At the same time as dancing I’m day dreaming of the best case scenario for things to come… meeting friends, looking good at an event, or somewhat proving to be the best version of myself. Feels so cringe writing this 🤪🥴🫣

And these stories and the trauma they cause women is then actually made worse by the himpathy directed at the man who lied, cheated and hid his true nature to steal a woman's fertility and best years. And then everyone also has to endure lectures from women (who either dumb as a bag of hammers or just total misogynists) who pretend to believe he just didn't know what he was doing, poor man.

I give zero fucks if they are gay, I give a lot of fucks they lied about it, and I give zero fucks about the happiness or lives of the men who do this. They use the women they latch onto, they are parasites and they deserve nothing but contempt

I agree with you. People like Phillip Schofield who people say are terribly brave I think are just selfish fuckers. I was delighted when his career went down the toilet. His poor wife.
