I'm scared.

I fantasise about my father dying in a car/plane crash quite a lot, where he's the only person that dies.

I can’t help but find very religious people, doesn’t matter what the religion is, unintelligent.

Dogmatically following a made up book in the 21st century is completely illogical to me.

I don’t mean people who enjoy the community and comfort that their religion can bring, I can understand that. I mean people who are so deeply indoctrinated into their religion’s ideology that another perspective or way of living cannot be countenanced as acceptable. There’s plenty of them.

I concerned about the people coming over. It’s hard to not come across as racist, but many hold different views about women and I fear for the ladies in my life with undocumented people arriving daily.
The government seem to be unable to do anything and who knows who many of them are.
The streets are already a no go area and it’ll only get worse too. The UK wasn’t like this with controlled immigration historically, but this feels wrong and I can’t see the new PM getting a grip on it.

That I really wish my husband didn’t have a daughter, i.e my stepdaughter. Not because she’s abhorrent, just it’s ruined my ideology of a nuclear family.

In my area, where it also rains a lot, the problem isn’t that there is no water in lakes or reservoirs, the problem is that they can’t treat that water fast enough so during heatwaves water demand often exceeds production capacity.

That I’m very jealous of other parents with neurotypical children around my son’s age. I love my son so much. He’s a happy and loving little boy but it’s not fair that he has to struggle so much and can’t enjoy doing all the things that most children his age can do.

I really don’t like my partner’s daughter. She is a madam, rude and entitled beyond belief although she is 21. He is a lovely man and it causes a lot of stress between us but I’ve never actually said I don’t like her.

I feel exactly the same. I do everything for everyone and not a soul gives a thing back. I’d walk away and live on my own on a deserted island if I could.

Most people feel the same in real life but for some reason not on mumsnet, they love to scream the word racist at anyone who doesn't want these leeches breaking into our country. Reform is very likely to win the next election so hopefully they will do something real about it.

I think graduations are dumb. Finishing school/university is what you're supposed to do. Why are we celebrating this bare minimum achievement?

I don’t think they are necessarily stupid, some are. But I agree about the dogmatic nature of the way they see the world though.

As discussed upthread, I think it’s often a control thing when otherwise intelligent people are devout Christians. They are usually in my experience very small c conservative people who don’t like change and need structure to survive life.

They often can’t function without some sort of rulebook to guide absolutely everything in their lives, they can’t deal with spontaneity or anything unpredictable at all.

Its anecdotal but its enough of a common thread to make me think there’s something a bit pathological about them.

In fact, I rarely fele much sympathy for someone going through a similar terrible experience to one I might have been through. I just think ' well I coped , so they can too" .

I don't know where you got the evidence for 'most people ' thinking that, but I do agree that probably more people think it than say it out loud.

I secretly judge Disney Adults and think they are weird.

Like many others I think life is tedious and would rather not live.

I regret my firstborn son. He's autistic and has treatment resistant ocd which makes his life a struggle but also our life a hell. We get insulted, screamed at and are constantly monitored. We can't punish him because it's not effective and just drives him further out the edge of madness. I would like for him to be in a psychiatric hospital where there are trained staff to deal with him.

I did the same for my daughters. Funny thing is, despite them being all grown up and left home,I still sleep on a sofabed in my living room, I like being close to the kitchen to get a coffee etc. I also think i'd feel more vulnerable sleeping upstairs in one of the empty bedrooms.
