Im sure they'll be lots of judgement on here as always but here we go

I really wish I hadn't married my 1st husband. He was a loser and still is.
I find 99% of kids so dull

I really dislike babies and children, and breastfeeding is just yuck.

TroysMammy · 11/08/2026 19:43

I wish I didn't lose touch with my male friend/occasional fwb who would have talked sense into me when I met my partner. Twelve years down the line I wouldn't be in the sorry mess I am now as looking back he would have given me the confidence to say "this isn't working out" early on and to have the confidence that, like him, being single is the way to go.

I'm back in touch with my friend, 20 years later and I could never say to him I missed you because I enjoyed the laughs and fun we had and wish we could pick up where we left off but I can't because my life is really complicated now.

I wish I'd been sluttier when I was young..

Me too

I truly can't believe this post. My husband died four years ago, and I miss him every day. No amount of freedom makes up for his loss.
I hope you never say that out loud, especially to a widow.

I agree. I'm a widow and the loss is truly unbearable. I would give up every bit of my freedom to have my husband back.

I find men carrying cloth bags totally embarrassing, not that they ‘need to be attractive’ but I could never fancy a bloke who walked about carrying one.
I wouldn’t say it out loud because technically they are doing a good thing saving the planet by reusing a bag and not using plastic but it’s such a cringeworthy sight.

Did you mention this recently on another thread or are you a different person?

NetZeroZealot · 11/08/2026 19:47

mrlistersgelfbride · 11/08/2026 19:35

I don’t really enjoy anyone’s company.
I would be fine if i never saw most of my friendship circle again.

I feel like this too. There is only one friend whose company I really genuinely enjoy. I guess that makes us misanthropes.

OotontheRandan · 11/08/2026 19:47

I wish I hadn't changed my surname when I got married - i thought I didn't like it but it definitely is more me than DH's surname.

Also that inhave a huge, ingrained feeling of utter embarrassment of being alive. I can't shift the feeling that I must just embarrass everyone who knows me just because I am embarrassing. I couldn't point out what it is that is embarrassing about me, just the notion that my very being is embarrassing. Sometimes I go with it, and it means nothing can really embarrass me more than I already am so it doesn't hold me back. Other times I cringe almighty for the way I said a word in front of another human.

Openmouthinsertfood · 11/08/2026 19:47

I think I'm psychic. Not in the 'I'll tell you your fourtune' kind of way, but in that I've experienced a lot of wierd stuff in my life, and seem to attract wierd happenings.

MaggieBsBoat · 11/08/2026 19:47

I cheated on my ex husband with 9 different men, because he beat me and raped me and I wanted to feel loved. One of those men helped me escape and I don’t doubt that he saved my life.

poweredbyteaandtoast · 11/08/2026 19:48

I really really regret adopting our DC. They have multiple ND’s as well as other issues & feel they have ruined our life.
Could never say this out loud though!

WhyCantISayFork · 11/08/2026 19:48

Indianajet · 11/08/2026 19:29

I didn't tell her off as such - I said I can't believe anyone would think that about someone they loved.
And that is something I would say out loud!

Can you really not believe other people have different feelings from you? It’s actually fairly common in caring spouses, and nothing to be ashamed of.

I inherited my late mother’s anxious dog and I am SO resentful about the responsibility.

I hate having to plan my whole life around where dogs are and aren’t allowed to go, and I hate bringing dog poo bags everywhere, and the sheer ball ache of trying to plan a day out let alone a holiday, and the faff and expense of dogsitters, and having to get her groomed, and having to have her anal glands expressed because otherwise she scoots bum gunk everywhere, and having to wash her all the time because she rolls in goose shit, and just basically having this creature following me everywhere, just watching me with guilt-making eyes.

I do love dogs, I just always knew I didn’t want the responsibility of having one of my own to look after. And I don’t feel I can abandon an already stressed and bereaved animal. I just wish she were a cat and not so fucking needy and smelly.

Give it away. Don’t feel guilty, you’ve tried, the dog sounds like a total dickhead and adds nothing to your life except guilt.

I would judge you for being such a martyr and keeping it

I'd say this out loud, with caveats... it can't buy everything, you can be rich and struck by tragedy, but there are few situations it can't improve in any way at all. It buys some degree of happiness, although not everything. But I do think that once you reach a certain point of wealth, more money doesn't make you happier.

I'd say it can't buy happiness but it can avert a great deal of unhappiness.

My "I wouldn't say this out loud" is that the love of my life is married to one of my closest friends.

Brous · 11/08/2026 19:49

I married my husband after basically stalking him online for over a year and engineering a meeting. He’s famous in some circles (professional sportsman). He shared he would be attending an event on his friend’s instagram post and I took my chance to “bump” into him. I think I’m relatively of sound mind but I can get hyper fixated on some things. I was certainly obsessed with my husband. I faked liking a lot of things I knew he was into when we dated.

Absolutely this. I think too many people have seen Rain Man and believe that autism actually makes a person more intelligent rather than less. It's maybe a bit of Just World Fallacy. Also, a lot of people who claim to be Autistic are nothing of the sort, they are just self absorbed and want an excuse that lets them off the hook for being anti social.

I think the harsh truth a lot of SEN parents don't want to accept is that the most genuinely clever ND kids don't get diagnosed in school. They manage to slide through the gaps by using their brain and learn to compensate in many areas despite having to put in more effort. Many may never get diagnosed at all and therefore they don't view their neurodivergence as a disability.

Any child that already has a ND diagnosis from a young age is very unlikely to achieve the same level of academic and social success regardless of how much support they receive. There's the "burnt out gifted child" trope that many adults fall back on and believe they could have been the next Elon Musk if they managed their ND better or had more support. When in reality, very very few people are capable of achieving success at all, and being ND doesn't play as much of role as many think.

I don't normally condone cheating at all, but in your case you were amply justified and I'm so glad that you got away.

LemonCustardPie · 11/08/2026 19:52

Easy. Wish I'd never dated my first husband.

I am having an affair with an ex, who I should have married. I'm single. He's married.

I am richer than anyone knows.

She’s entitled to feel how she likes (it sounds incredibly hard.) She’s not admitting it in real life.

Bridesmaidorexfriend · 11/08/2026 19:52

I’m in my late 30’s and planning my 40th birthday in the next year or so, but I still feel like I’m not quite an adult. I get shocked when I see people my age on TV and I categorise them as ‘adult/not young/old’ and then realise I’m a similar age to them. I have a good job and I’m married but I feel like my interests and personality are still immature

Musk only was successful because he was born very wealthy. If he hadn't been, nobody would have heard of him. He isn't intelligent.

@ComtesseDeSpair I do this too! And also wouldn't admit it in real life.

Sometimes, on a long cycle, I pretend I'm competing in the Tour de France.

Yous are so funny. I pretend I'm driving a bus and dropping people off at various stops 😂😂😂 sometimes, it's a flying car, like in Back to the Future.

It wouldn’t bother me if I was dying. I don’t want to top myself or anything. Just a bit bored and disillusioned with life in general . I’m 60

I feel like that too, I just feel as if I am going through the motions or acting in a play, I know what to say, how to look, how to respond but I find it all so tedious and repetitive. I am not suicidal, i have been in the past and it wasn't like this. It is ennui, a sort of washed-out weariness

Kevinbaconsrealwife · 11/08/2026 19:55

That after caring for my lovely dad in his home for two years with very little help , and seeing him decline quickly , I have a stash of sleeping pills just waiting for if the day comes that I start to get like him….i will never have my husband or girls look after me like I was expected to…..
