What wouldn't you admit out loud ?

Im sure they'll be lots of judgement on here as always but here we go

I really wish I hadn't married my 1st husband. He was a loser and still is.
I find 99% of kids so dull

OP posts:

I daydream a lot and always have done, particularly if I'm doing something like running, cleaning, walking the dog.

I have a list of clutter I'd throw away if my DH died or left me. I crave a clutter-free life, DH struggles to get rid of things that have been replaced/broken/worn out.

I wouldn't like my MIL if she were a colleague or I knew her casually. I'd actively avoid her.

This is me too. Though my DH has cancer, incurable, so one day it will actually come true. People keep asking me how I am and I can tell they don't really believe me when I say I'm fine, but the truth is that part of me is happy that I'll be on my own at some point in the future. No more compromises and being responsible for helping someone else all the time.
I will if course be very upset, don't get me wrong, he is the love of my life, but it will be tempered by the joy of finally being fully in control of my own life again.

I truly can't believe this post. My husband died four years ago, and I miss him every day. No amount of freedom makes up for his loss.
I hope you never say that out loud, especially to a widow.

Piglet89 · Yesterday 19:16

I think of children as trainee adults - and I have a nearly 7 year old.

Icepop79 · Yesterday 19:16

I interview myself a lot. When I’m on my own, I pretend I’m famous and on the Graham Norton show. I’m a very entertaining guest..!

I'm sorry for your loss, but this thread is for the purpose of saying things that aren't really acceptable to say out loud, so it isn't real fair of you to tell off that poster.

Oh - I can't stand fish. I was a veggie for many years and now eat a very small amount of meat. But my dear friend thinks fish is the answer for someone who was a veggie. I hate it. It manages both to stink and yet somehow have no flavour - no umami. Salmon (which I always get) is the worst with its sickly sweetness and horrible colour.

She always cooks it and the time to break this news to her has passed, so I'll just have to keep chewing.

Can’t you just say in conversation “do you know what, I’ve been going off salmon recently. I had some (whatever you would prefer) though and I really like that now! Isn’t it funny after being veggie!” Surely there’s no reason to torture yourself.

That I'm a Zionist. Although I've been getting braver about saying that these days, as a lot of the omnicausers have got bored and actually a lot of people are Zionists. I think that the watermelon brigade are the ones who should be embarrased, not us.

The right of Israel to exist shouldn't be controversial. Doesn't excuse what is going on in Palestine at all though, which is essentially bombing and starvation trying to get them to go somewhere else. Notable that the Egyptians don't want them either though, presumably having learned the lessons from Jordan and Lebanon...

People who vote Reform/Restore etc, despite potentially having a genuine claim to being disenfranchised and from poverty stricken areas that have been ignored by successive governments of every stripe, are usually also, quite simply, thick racists.

Despite being a 'massive lefty' (not my description) and working for a local foodbank and signposting service, and largely being in favour of the welfare system, there are still huge amounts of people who manage to scrounge the system, in the most appalling way, and totally get away with it. And they will, eventually, ruin it for everyone genuinely in need.

And finally, a big one because I cannot say this anywhere else...
Despite ostensibly supporting her, (it's not her fault, after all) I think my friend's son probably is guilty of the things he has been accused of regarding stalking an ex......

Yes the thread is things you wouldn’t admit and so she’s not going to say that is she, but also if she did she’d be talking about her own feelings about her own relationship - it doesn’t take anything away from anyone else.

LePetiteMissi · Yesterday 19:21

Im name changing after this

I fantasise about being a member of the royal family. Probably married to harry when he was fun and a bit wild and we could be fun wild second in commands to W and K 😅

I also would never admit that I hate the golden handcuffs of corporate life. Ive risen really high up the ranks of my organisation and sit just below the exec group and everyone looks at me as this high flyer thats achieved alot of great things but the reality is every time i got a promotion i had terrible "lifestyle creep" and i needed the next promotion to catch up again with my lifestyle. I have no savings.

I like watching the ai generated vertical miniseries on TikTok- the stories are shit, half the time they don’t make sense, the ai changes accents, faces, clothes, wound sites within frames - bloody hilarious, I’ve watched fruit people, animal people, currently it’s throwing omegaverse bl at me. It’s chaotic!

I also like watching Chinese vertical mini dramas with real live humans, also hilarious!
I also love a crap hallmark movie., so predictable!

I agree with that, and I don't think that many people agree with how violent Israel has been. However, the period immediately after October 7th was really a bit of an eye opener. There were protest marches before Israel had launched a single missile. These performative protesters have no knowledge of the history of the region and no historical or sociological imagination.

I know it's terrible, but I play 'spot the ugly' when I am travelling about. I study people surreptitiously to understand why they are so unpleasant to look at. It may be the shape of their nose, or their horrid small or too-bulgy eyes. It could be a jowly face or lips too small/big. Sometimes it's just the whole face. I've never told anyone else I do this....😆but the 'good genes' pool is spread very thin.

Others might do the same when they see you!

Well yeah that’s the whole point of the thread… things you’d never admit out loud.

Oh me too. I'm on the Graham Norton show a lot. In my head. Usually talking about my latest book or the film I've just directed.

When I ride my bicycle, I like to pretend I’m riding a horse. I have a whole cross country course on my commute to work with different speed bumps as jumps and sometimes I score myself for the approach. As I run through the Greenwich Foot Tunnel pushing the bicycle, I’m competing in the in-hand section of the gaited pony show.

It passes the time.

Edited

When I was doing my Couch to 5k training, as I got to the end of the however many minutes running, I'd think "And it's Weary heading to the tape to win a gold for Scotland!" and then speed up (so much as is possible for a woman of my advanced age).

Gooseling · Yesterday 19:27

That most men are gay. They fantasise about other men and only care about other men’s opinions. They hate women.

The amount of “straight” married men with children who cheat on their wives with Grindr/FabSwingers hookups is WILD!

And that is the reason why so many straight men treat women like shit. It’s because they’re closeted angry insecure gays with raging internalised homophobia.
