Terrifying to think he has young dc. If this is a mental health episode he could have harmed them too. Did anyone see the livestream?

If you think he was trying to commit suicide then you clearly havent watched the video.
Licking a breadknife while making sexual groaning noises and rubbing blood all over yourself isnt a suicide attempt.
Neither is dragging a breadknife across your belly, chest, lower back and shoulders while saying "yah! Im committing suicideeee" at the people asking him what he was doing - one of which was drinking a massive soda while watching the stream completely unperturbed.

Now tell me again I havent seen the video.
Screen recordings are all over Facebook.

Yes this is what I meant by dancing around with the knife.

Very shock factor but not Im about to off myself stuff.

Exactly.
No denying that he's unwell but it was utterly performative.

Another who hasn’t seen it. The man was brutally slicing himself and mutiliating himself, his wrists, his neck, his face, his body. There was no dancing about or anything performative

and shame on you rushing to judge when you’ve no idea.

@verv really shouldn't have posted a screenshot.....

Anyway, at what point would it have been acceptable enough for you to think it looked like suicide?

In any case, if you'd watched it all, you'd have heard him say he wanted the police to come and shoot him.

Do you think he hasn't hurt himself and it was all fake? Or that he was hamming it up while slicing his skin open, and groaning while he sliced it?
I've nicked myself with a bread knife twice, and I yelled out as it was so bloody sore. There is zero way I could consciously/knowingly do it if I was in an OK state of mind.

I genuinely don't understand what you believe actually happened?

There aren't a lot of people I would judge

Perez Hilton is practically first on the list.

I didn't realise there was any element of it possibly being a publicity stunt.

That wouldn't surprise me

If it's something else like Lady Macbeth, he will not be able to wash the guilt off his hands

I feel sorry for the children. I didn't realise there was no mother involved.

Verv · 05/08/2026 17:54

No, I probably shouldn’t have but I’m not keen on being told that I’m lying because I didn’t interpret something in the same way as another poster.
Sure it’ll be taken down but I would assume point made.

As I said initially, clearly having an episode, and certainly self harming but I don’t think it was a suicide attempt.

I hope they ban you and take that down, I’ve reported you.

what you’re posting is utterly heinous. Beyond distasteful, you clearly haven’t seen the video, and have rushed to judge in the sickest way possible

He’s a man who gleefully mercilessly hounded Britney Spears when she was mid MH crisis and sold “Why couldn’t it be Britney” T-Shirts when heath ledger died.

Chickens do tend to come home to roost when you dedicate your career to monetising misery.

I mean she has clearly seen it she has the video loaded up on the screenshot on her post.

Just because you’ve interpreted one way and other people have a different way.

Lots of speculation online about how the knife wasn’t actually cutting as no new fresh wounds were being made and that he was licking the knife.

So first you were cross because I hadn’t seen the video.

Now you’re very very cross and banging the report button because I have indeed seen it, and evidenced it, without posting a link and using an image that is no worse than the ones all over the news.

That is completely unhinged but oddly unsurprising.

I also reported the screenshot i don't know why the poster thought it was in anyway appropriate and I don't know why mumsnet approved it !

I remember when Heath Ledger died, and Perez started selling 'Why couldn't it be Britney?' t-shirts on his website.
This was when Britney Spears was in the midst of her mental health crisis (shaving her head etc...). He has done some truly reprehensible things, but I hope he makes a full recovery and people are kinder to him than he was to some celebs.

The very worst thing he ever did (to my knowledge) was when he posted an upskirt photo of a 17-year-old Miley Cyrus. Despicable, and makes me feel torn on this situation.

Oh, he has done some dreadful things. Absolutely.
However I personally cannot find any joy or comfort in him suffering so horribly and publicly. Even if he physically and mentally recovers, he'll never ever be allowed or able to move on

What he’s going through is undoubtedly beyond horrific and unfathomable, but it’s crazy to me that he never received legal consequences for that picture of Miley as a minor.

Verv · 05/08/2026 18:36

I haven’t seen anybody celebrating it or being joyous

I know. Madness.

Still can't get on board with this being karma or whatever.
It was so distressing to see.
Was like he was possessed

But people wouldn't know his kids weren't there would they? Even if he said that, you couldn't fully believe him in that moment. That's what I'm talking about!

It was confirmed by officials pretty quickly that the kids were not in the home at the time of the incident.

The video is horrendous - and I hope he gets the support he clearly needs.

As much as I wish this would drive a change for better digital safeguarding, I highly doubt it will - however after the initial live tiktok and Reddit mods were very quick at removing reposts of content which is something (the same can't be said for X but let's be honest musk doesn't give a shit if it means more traffic)

Lexingtonavenueandme · 05/08/2026 19:03

Poppycorn123 · 05/08/2026 14:24

This isn't just self harming though, it's psychosis. He is capable of anything in that state of mind. It's pure luck that his kids werent there for this episode. (Or maybe the signs were there and they have been removed from his care, who knows)

I think you either need to seek help or get a life. Your posts are reading as positively salivating over this horror show. His children were not at his home at the time . He deserves the same access to acute mental health support as anyone else. Step away from it and stop exciting yourself over it … it’s really rather gross you’ve excited yourself so much.

ItsPickleRick · 05/08/2026 19:16

Rumpledandcrumpled · 05/08/2026 16:52

I don’t think you’ve seen the video at all, no one who has would say clearly having an episode when they’d just witnessed someone brutally try to commit suicide in the most horrific way whilst in the midst of a severe mental health crisis, it would be utterly bizzare to do so, it is the under statement of the century,

and i don’t think anyone would be all over it if a woman did it, inc him, Britney didn’t even come close, I don’t know anyone who has done anything remotely close to the utter horror and brutality on that video, and to call it an episode?

did you just want to have a go at him ans wanted to give yourself credibility as you did the opposite,

You’ve described how brutal, horrific and traumatising the video was more than once. Why did you watch it?

Newsenmum · 05/08/2026 19:30

JacknDiane · 05/08/2026 08:44

He sliced himself up live??

What on earth do you mean.

Exactly that.

JasmineMac · 05/08/2026 19:32

I honestly can't fathom why any of you have chosen to watch the footage. Arguing about who has 'understood' it the most; it's sickening. There's no place on the moral high ground for any of you.

I see his family have released a statement, asking for his privacy to be respected. Not even a small acknowledgement in the statement of the trauma/harm inflicted on people who unwittingly scrolled and were presented with his live. It mustn't be normalised, approached as just another instance of someone famous enduring a public mental health meltdown. This was on a different level, and I hope once he has received treatment he opts to live his life out of the public eye.

Very much, those comments.

Alarming that the utterly distressing visual circumstance is so readily accepted, and that we should strive to 'understand'. No one besides for Hilton himself needs to strive to understand.
