Terrifying to think he has young dc. If this is a mental health episode he could have harmed them too. Did anyone see the livestream?

Rumpledandcrumpled · 05/08/2026 12:31

There is potential young people saw it yes but it wasn’t quite as simple as people make out.

it did last 30 odd mins, but when the self harm began Tik tok took it down within mins, he was clearly very manic to start with and not in a rational state, saying he didn’t want to live , everyone wanted him dead etc, and then his distress escalated, and it began and he couldn’t feel it and didn’t understand why it wasn’t working, why he wasn’t dead. When it escalated people started reporting it.

tik tok are under fire as it should have been stopped when his distress started escalating, not because the self harm was shown as such. More it should never have got to that stage, although I don’t think anyone could have predicted whay was about to happen,

even some of the people on line with him clearly can’t understand what’s happening and are asking what are you doing, are you ok , Perez stop, it’s like their brains couldn’t compute what they were seeing as it must have been incredibly shocking for them. I mean I knew what I was about to witness roughly and even I was shocked for a moment like my brain froze.

then people started to report, as they realised what was happening and gather their wits, and call the Emergancy services. It is not 30modd mins of self harm.

Totallybannanas · 05/08/2026 12:48

I came across this video and thought it was a sick joke. How absolutely awful, whether you like him or not seeing someone self distruct and publically mutalate themselves during a metal health crisis is absolutely heartbreaking breaking. It was very disturbing to watch. I know he had a near death experience and a brain injury that really affected him. He also seemed to become a born again Christian following his near death experience. It's all very sad. I hope he finds the help he needs.

Poppycorn123 · 05/08/2026 08:43

How do you know he wasn't a threat to them? He sliced himself up live to millions. That is extremely psychotic behaviour. Look at all the awful murder suicide stories at the moment. Even if not deliberate, had the children been there he could easily have cut them too.

There is a big difference between self harm and harming others.

TutTutTutSigh · 05/08/2026 13:00

I haven't seen the video thankfully but it sounds like the emergency services got to him in time. Psychosis is horrifying.

I remember his website in the 00's, whether he's a bad guy or not what he's done and live streaming it is horrific and tragic for his loved ones.

Tableforjoan · 05/08/2026 13:28

First thing that came up on my Facebook this morning was the video.

It was just all so strange obviously he had hurt himself badly in places but then other parts he clearly wasn’t actually doing it iykwim more dancing with it almost.

Hopefully he gets the help he needs these are his demons coming back to haunt him.

NooNakedJacuzziness · 05/08/2026 13:53

He’s become the news he used to report on

JasmineMac · 05/08/2026 13:58

The moral of this story is that social media needs to be regulated better. There is far too much easily accessible horror online. Not even just 'accessible' because in this case it was presented to entirely unsuspecting tiktok users.

My heart goes out to every person who unknowingly witnessed even a second of that.

I've saw way too many comments from people who have chosen to watch it, or continued viewing the live; I just can't fathom the psyche of these people.

ikeepdancingonmy · 05/08/2026 13:59

This poor man is going through religious psychosis.

ForDisplayPurposesOnly · 05/08/2026 14:02

seawitchandgarden2 · 05/08/2026 08:56

Your thread really is in poor taste OP.

No one with a basic amount of decency should seek and watch a video of that live stream if it is still available.

The poor man is obviously in a very distressed mental state and is now under medical care and no member of his family, or anyone else, were harmed during the incident.

Have a bit of respect.

In the past he would have been loving gossiping about another celeb who had done this. Look up some of the things he has done. The man is fucking awful,

He loved other celebs downfalls and hard times.

xabimunich3 · 05/08/2026 14:16

I remember when Heath Ledger died, and Perez started selling 'Why couldn't it be Britney?' t-shirts on his website.
This was when Britney Spears was in the midst of her mental health crisis (shaving her head etc...). He has done some truly reprehensible things, but I hope he makes a full recovery and people are kinder to him than he was to some celebs.

Rumpledandcrumpled · 05/08/2026 10:19

No one is blaming the op for the actions of a man. What’s being said is there is no Indication the man was a risk to his children, what happened was extremely distressing and in his own words it was suicide. He was not murderous and his children were not even in the property, so escalating it as a potential threat to his kids, with no evidence of such, is unacceptable.

Somebody killing themselves in the presence of their children is actively harming their children though, whether or not they want to harm them (not saying his children were there). It would be 100% the correct thing to do in either circumstance, children or not, for people to phone the police. Additionally, how many people kill their children and then kill themselves/other family members. Perfectly resonable to be concerned, not just for him but for others who may have been in the house.

This isn't just self harming though, it's psychosis. He is capable of anything in that state of mind. It's pure luck that his kids werent there for this episode. (Or maybe the signs were there and they have been removed from his care, who knows)

Thanks for the clarification @Rumpledandcrumpled I haven't seen the video (only a couple of stills which were horrifying enough) but from the descriptions I had read, I thought that the self harm/ cutting took place during the majority of the livestream and that TikTok let that roll for 30 mins. Even so, I can only imagine how traumatising it must have been to anyone watching that unfold live - as mentioned, the couple of stills I have seen are absolutely shocking as it is.

ForDisplayPurposesOnly · 05/08/2026 14:03

I know - he was genuinely awful to Britney Spears, when she was experiencing her own mental health crisis. I hope people treat him better than he has treated others.

EmeraldRoulette · 05/08/2026 15:10

I remember him from about 20 years ago because I was trying to do some campaigning about privacy

He was absolutely poisonous

And then became famous… and then I don’t really know because I wasn’t paying attention.

I can’t say I feel sorry for him

Him and his ilk have spread so much poison into the world and I don’t know how we’ll ever get rid of it. I don’t think we will.

I can’t even be bothered to say I feel sorry for him. He was absolutely vicious about Britney Spears when she was having her breakdown, which felt very frightening to me because I was also having a breakdown at the time.

To quote the 1975 song - Jesus save us - modernity has failed us.

I don’t even believe in god, but I’ve been going to church. I do it periodically because it gives me a sense of normality.

If only he hadn’t been pure poison in the first place. Maybe they were even more people around who are poisonous and I just didn’t realise when I was working very long hours?!

EmeraldRoulette · 05/08/2026 15:11

PS I should probably add I haven’t seen the video

It sounds like something that nobody should watch, but I’m not on TikTok anyway.

When did he have a brain injury? I can't find anything.

if you said it was before he launched a career decimating the mental health of others, that would be interesting.

tbh it pisses me off that him and his ilk are STILL making money from
this decades later but they were lauded and this poison became the internet and a lucrative career.

Verv · 05/08/2026 16:28

Saw the video - clearly having an episode.
That said, if a female celebrity did the same thing, he would be all over it like a fly around shit so my sympathy is limited.

GingerBeverage · 05/08/2026 16:45

A reminder that his 3 children were purchased via surrogate. No mother to look after them.

What on earth are you talking about, no one said calling rhe police was wrong and his kids were not there,

I don’t think you’ve seen the video at all, no one who has would say clearly having an episode when they’d just witnessed someone brutally try to commit suicide in the most horrific way whilst in the midst of a severe mental health crisis, it would be utterly bizzare to do so, it is the under statement of the century,

and i don’t think anyone would be all over it if a woman did it, inc him, Britney didn’t even come close, I don’t know anyone who has done anything remotely close to the utter horror and brutality on that video, and to call it an episode?

did you just want to have a go at him ans wanted to give yourself credibility as you did the opposite,

But people wouldn't know his kids weren't there would they? Even if he said that, you couldn't fully believe him in that moment. That's what I'm talking about!

I really don’t think anyone was thinking about rhe kids, they called rhe police due to what was occurring. Confused

If you think he was trying to commit suicide then you clearly havent watched the video.
Licking a breadknife while making sexual groaning noises and rubbing blood all over yourself isnt a suicide attempt.
Neither is dragging a breadknife across your belly, chest, lower back and shoulders while saying "yah! Im committing suicideeee" at the people asking him what he was doing - one of which was drinking a massive soda while watching the stream completely unperturbed.

Now tell me again I havent seen the video.
Screen recordings are all over Facebook.
