Tice now saying that Reform's security team told him not to go to the count. So three different stories.

I hope the police follow up on this.

They really should it’s not acceptable.

dontcallmelen · Today 09:40

I hope the police have kept a record of communications with Reform, they’d be pretty stupid if they didn’t.

MP Farage and his cronies will use the shocking murder of Ann Widdecombe as a lever to avoid scrutiny. I'll wager that he'll never turn up for the interviews in person to the Parliamentary Standards commission, because his private security team will deem it unsafe.

Farage was always going to win, but I hoped at least fewer people would vote for him. He will win again if there is another by-election. Unless all the parties except the Tories stand down.

It is very depressing. How can people be so fooled by him?

I think there may have been a small number of voters who have voted for him so that he would have to face the parliamentary enquiry.

BIWI · Today 10:10

But I thought he had £5m to pay for his security?

Edited

I’m not Machiavellian enough to have thought of that but it’s plausible.

They’re on the ball, aren’t they?

Agree - that was posted at 9.30 am - Guardian said yesterday this would happen today

Met and HMRC investigations also ongoing

cardibach · Today 11:21

The arrogance of the man. He says he ‘beat the establishment candidate’ because canvassers from the ‘uniparty’ (ie everyone else) were out for Binface. He says ‘nobody cares’ about the £5mill and they’d be stupid to call another by election in Clacton. What. A. Twat.

It's the second time this week that we've heard the phrase 'credible threat' too. How Odd.

Well I find it entirely credible that Nigel Farage is a criminally motivated grifter who is selling his country by the craptodollar the Russians.

Good.

Maybe Nige will resign again?

Wouldn’t put it past the grifting steaming pile of shite.

placemats · Today 12:33

He's absolutely within his rights as an MP to resign again.

The Lib Dems want to stop it. I agree it shouldn't happen.

dapsnotplimsolls · Today 12:36

I saw a clip of him being interviewed by GB News - he said something about 'a piece of paper I didn't sign' or something similar. I'm assuming this will be the new party line - persecution due to a piece of paper.

Notonthestairs · Today 12:37

If they are following the Johnson playbook we will now get multiple interviews from supporters that the Standards Committee is a kangaroo court and they will start raking through the backgrounds of those on the committee (nevermind that the Committee is both cross-party and half of the Committee are lay members elected because of their expertise).

Seem to remember that Dorries did all this before so she can just wheel out the same commentary.

placemats · Today 12:40

It's already happening as 30p Lee is moaning about not being included in cross party committees.

Today Radio 4 interview this morning starting at approx 8.10am. If you can stomach it.
