I care nowt about Reform.

Efacsen · 30/07/2026 09:00

Manchester mayoralty election today

DuncinToffee · 30/07/2026 09:34

There has hardly been any coverage about it.

It’s not really surprising. Between the first days of a new PM and Farage’s long running tantrum there isn’t much bandwidth left. The little coverage there has been indicates a comfortable win for Bev Craig. I don’t envy her with those shoes to fill.

Not many MNetters in Manchester.

BIossomtoes · 30/07/2026 09:47

I’m not Josh Halliday, honestly!

Not many MNetters in Manchester.

Did they all move after the Gorton and Denton and Makerfield elections?

I am sure some were observing the voters 🤔

How things change. At one time, Reform were going to throw all their resources into winning the Manchester Mayoralty. Now they’re no longer interested, since Farage’s tantrum.

DuncinToffee · 30/07/2026 09:52

Reform (Jenrick) are holding a press conference about Polanski not being investigated by the MET.

Two tier bingo?

Press should have a field day with their questions.

OP posts:
BIossomtoes · 30/07/2026 09:56

I thought he had been investigated and no crime had been found to have been committed.

Notonthestairs · 30/07/2026 09:56

Well Farage can’t hold a press conference because of the questions and neither can Tice.

Notonthestairs · 30/07/2026 10:08

The Metropolitan Police have announced they're taking no further action against Zack Polanski over the Nigel Farage guillotine t-shirt Instagram post, although the man who wore it has been referred to Avon and Somerset Police

Key points from their statement 🧵

What Polanski did was utterly stupid and he should apologise, but Reform are making themselves look ludicrous. Tweeting an incitement to burn people alive = OK, in fact the tweeter is now a national heroine. Sharing a photo of a dodgy t-shirt = go directly to jail.

SerendipityJane · 30/07/2026 10:15

I wonder what a tax of 1p per retweet might raise ? Indeed 1p per social message posting ?

Bit of blue sky thinking there. You don't get that in Reform press conferences.

Avon and Somerset police rule out action over Farage guillotine T-shirt because 'threshold for offence' not reached

Agreed, yes he is only succeeding in making himself and Reform look ludicrous.

DuncinToffee · 30/07/2026 10:35

It's just an attack on the social care plans

DuncinToffee · 30/07/2026 10:46

Avon & Somerset police have released a statement that the satirical T-shirt was not an offence and they won't take further action.

As usual he is blaming foreigners for everything. Accusing Burnham of "pandering" to "islamists". And of course refusing to answer questions about donations.

placemats · 30/07/2026 10:57

It's the usual from Reform. We won't tax anyone, we will stop the small boats arrangement with France and look for reparations (ha! good luck with that), not cancel Planatir, use British workers only for care work and increase their wages, death tax, explained in mawkish language, Cottrell is irrelevant, football is for the fans, etc. Many mentions of the word honest and the 30 councils Reform run.

I do wonder why this press conference is allowed on an election day.

Efacsen · 30/07/2026 10:58

'Two tier policing' - took him a while to get there but doesn't fail to get it in

dapsnotplimsolls · 30/07/2026 11:02

The Reformistas must be gutted they can't use 'Two Tier Keir' any longer.
