Graduation Jellycat Bunny Emergency

I don't have TikTok, I don't know anything about the importance of Jellycats - I am out of the loop on these sorts of trends and think all a bit sillly and a con but DS has just told me that all DDs friends will have the new Graduaction Jellycat Bunny and DD (who loves stuff like this) will be really sad if she doesn't.

So putting aside my thoughts on the matter I have been trying to find one and they are sold out everywhere. The ones on Ebay are cheaper than the real thing so clearly fake. Can anyone help me? To be fair, DD doesn't ask for much and there is no big 'gift' coming her way so I'd really like to find one if there is any chance.

ANY ideas, suggestions, links really welcome. She graduates on Friday..... yikes.

Glad you got it OP. Your daughter sounds great! And well done to her little bro for flagging it up, albeit a week or two later than would have been really helpful!

Please can you ask him what I should get for ds (23) when he graduates this autumn?? I could give him flowers - want to have something for him there on the day - but he'd probably give the flowers back to me to enjoy. He doesn't like champagne. And a can of cider or new pair of trainers just doesn't seem the same as a fluffy bunny!

How about a nice pen?

Cross do some lovely ones.

ETA: My parents bought me a nice leather briefcase when I graduated.

Thanks. Thought of that - but unless it works on a computer keypad, he's really not going to use a pen.

A watch? Accurist has some lovely classic designs. I know the yoof look at the time on their phones, as do I, but I think a watch is much more useful because a) You don't have to dig through your clothes or bag to get it and b) telling the time isn't dependent on your phone battery not running out!

If pens, watches, and briefcases are out these days, you could just give him money so he can get what he wants.

They were popular when my 14 year old was a baby, every toddler seemed to have a jellycat bunny as their favourite toy back then.

@Watchoutfortheslowaraf Gosh really? I am not alarmed. Not remotely. She doesn't need to 'clutch it on stage'. It is not a service animal or an emotional support dog, it's something that my soft-hearted dd felt sentimental about and wanted.

I am alarmed by knife crime and worry every time my 19 year old son is out in his Uni city of Nottingham. I am alarmed by the cost of living crisis. I am alarmed by the rise in far right and far left rhetoric. I am actually alarmed by lots of things, but luckily for me, not this. If this truly alarms you, I envy your blessed existence.

Actually, I think those sorts of nasty attitudes don't come from a blessed existence at all.

I have been getting quite "alarmed" of late at the vitriol evident in the attitudes of so many posters at the slightest provication. I think there is really a lot of stress and anger causing a lot of hitting out over not much these days.

Nothing wrong with a Jellycat bunny!

What about the Jellycat Egg Graduate?

Slightly more quirky than a fluffy bunny?

@Nocameltoeleggingsplease Congratulations to your DD on her graduation and her thoughtful BF. It was DS who flagged it to me so brownie points for him.

We have got some her some flowers and are going out for dinner. I've heard of some ridiculously extravagant gifts being presented (Louboutins anyone?) but DD neither wants or expects anything beyond the bloody rabbit who is so soft that I might have fallen a bit in love

Thank you again to all the lovely people who helped and sort of understood that it doesn't make DD a TikTok Obsessed Needy Twat.

I’d literally never heard of Jellycat - no kids in my life, no TikTok etc. I found a soft toy out of place in a shop and picked it up to pop it back on the stand. Oh my. The JOY that soft little thing gave me. Absolutely fell in love. It had no price tag on but I thought I AM HAVING THIS BUNNY and marched off to the till.

£25. Of course it’s a sodding Jellycat. I am 54 and the proud owner of a Jellycat Smudge. I may never put him down.

Thanks for the ideas. Will definitely give him cash afterwards, but have got ideas now for presents on the day . . . getting an artist friend to design him a personalized poster/painting to give him on the day.
