Ahh nice temp @TeaAndStrumpets Ive had to de camp from shade to sofa as too hot.

Yes Iโ€™m so wary re exercise having been stung in the past! They're just gentle stretches really but yes itโ€™s very easy to over do it! I do find getting the balance of keeping things mobile vs resting a tricky one. The box breathing was recommended by my physio to relax the shoulders so been trying that too and actually it does make you relax them a bit!

Hope you can find something to ease the IBS pain. ๐Ÿคž

Sending lots of love.and healing to all those who heed it- sounds like quite a few of us!

I'm quite pround of myself today...i walked both to/fromchurch ( just short of a mile each way) and sang in the band. This involves about 3 hours of singing, (practice and service) on and off and lots of standing. On the sofa with feet up now!

Edited

Thanks! Breathing is so basic but I'm always finding something I'm doing wrong!

Wow well done!

Excellent news @FuzzyPuffling well done ๐Ÿ‘

MewithME · 09/08/2026 16:03

Just got back from our holiday. The drive was gruelling. I know I've pushed more than I should this week and struggled packing the car this morning. DS had a bit of a meltdown when being asked to help so knew I wasn't starting from a good place.

Anyway, I've got straight into bed now the car is empty and burst into tears.

I feel so emotional I think it's the exhaustion. Feel so happy to have had such a lovely time but it always feels bittersweet. Healthy people take these things so for granted. It means such a lot when you're so restricted, to get away.

Going to watch a disgusting amount of TV on.my phone now.

@FuzzyPuffling you've done so well. How lovely.

You've done well, @MewithME . A holiday is a massive achievement. Gold star for you!

VikingNorthUtsire · 09/08/2026 17:37

Ugh. I feel awful today. Had to go shopping, forgot where I was parked in the car park then sat in the car and bawled. Been horizontal on the sofa all afternoon.

Feel like I need to not work tomorrow but it's our busiest time and there's so much to do. Think I actually probably need some more significant time off but the idea is too much to deal with right now.

Also. My period is over a week late. 99.9999% certain to be peri menopause but FFS. Just arrive please (hormones MAY explain the massive dip in energy, mood and general coping-with-life. It's a possibility).

martha79 · 09/08/2026 18:40

Well done on your outing @FuzzyPuffling and well done on your holiday @MewithME

Sorry you feel so rubbish @VikingNorthUtsire. Flipping hormones don't help with any of this.

I've done a lot of sleeping today. I usually doze off to a podcast or guided meditation but I just wanted silence most of the day.

Got a takeaway for tea. Managed just enough housework to keep on top of the general fluff and gunk, and have clean clothes for the week.

Oioiqueen · 09/08/2026 18:55

@VikingNorthUtsire you have to take care of yourself. As someone who recently got to the point of breaking down, you don't owe work anything they'll cope.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 09/08/2026 18:55

Evening all. Sounds like a few need to take it easy for the next few days. Be kind to yourselves.
I'm slowly getting over a chest infection. The coughing is exhausting but I'm feeling a lot better.
It's been cooler today, around 18. I've got a fleece on now. Wednesday will be the hottest day of the week and we are forecast 24โฐc. And that's when I have my next physio session.
Feet up ladies!

Oioiqueen · 09/08/2026 18:57

@CoffeeBeansGalore I want 24, thats where we've been on our colder days since June. Meant to be 32-34 last time I looked for here on Wednesday. Just makes me feel so lethargic and lazy

CoffeeBeansGalore · 09/08/2026 19:43

@Oioiqueen oh crumbs. With those constant high temperatures I'd be the size of half a house with the amount of ice cream I'd get through!

TodayIsabetterone · 09/08/2026 20:19

Youโ€™ve done so well @MewithME and should be so proud of yourself for creating memories for you and DS which is no mean feat with the energy vampire that is ME/CFS. Take it easy.

Be kind to yourself @VikingNorthUtsire hormones wonโ€™t be helping ๐Ÿ˜•

Fatigue has hit tonight despite a day of resting. Juat canโ€™t catch a break this week. I think my body is reacting to the heat again but looks set to be high for the week.

JewelleryCat · 09/08/2026 20:49

Everyone is so sick of the heat. I know I am and itโ€™ll apparently peak on Thursday so keep cool everyone and keep your fluids up

Can't eat it otherwise I have to share with the kids and that's rather wasteful

danglethedingle · 09/08/2026 22:06

It smells really smokey here, its blowing over from Wales apparently. There's a heathland on fire, described as significant. Its a worry as we are surrounded by woodland, not our house exactly, or our town, but our wider area is heavily forested.

Smoke is also a trigger for some of my heart and lung problems, which is also a worry.

Sometimes I have nightmares about waking up in a smoke filled room, to the extent I've shrieked in panic and woken up DH. It's the only one that always still feels real once I'm awake.

Real life fire is so scary. Hope we have some rain soon.

Swanhilde · 10/08/2026 09:08

Went to the beach yesterday. Had a lovely lunch and dip in the sea โ˜€๏ธ

Will spend today resting though, as I have been overdoing it a bit ๐Ÿ˜Š

Have a peaceful day all ๐Ÿ’•

martha79 · 10/08/2026 09:29

That is worrying @danglethedingle. We sometimes get it blowing across here from Peak District fires.

Just work and counselling for me today, still feeling quite wobbly and trying to rest as much as poss in between things.

danglethedingle · 10/08/2026 09:40

@TeaAndStrumpets Ooh that is scary, fire isn't one of my things usually, but I have had drowning and being buried nightmares. I don't really fancy any of them tbh!

Its much fresher this morning, the smoke seems to have gone. I don't think its out yet though. Optimistically put the washing out, so fingers crossed it doesn't change direction again.

I've been up since 5, awake since 3, so I'm about ready for nap! Hope everyone has a peaceful start to the week. And @MewithME take it easy, I find I need to recover mentally and physically from holidays.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 10/08/2026 09:41

@danglethedingle 2 weeks ago we had smoke from wildfires drift over from approx 50+ miles away. It looked foggy. Had to shut all the doors & windows. Only lasted a day thankfully. The wind then changed direction. It's amazing how far it travels. Never happened before.

MewithME · 10/08/2026 10:06

Thanks @danglethedingle . Certainly feeling very heavy today. I feel like I am still moving in the car. Muscles feel weak.

I am going to have an epsom salt bath and just plod today.

I never did figure out where the smoke came from on holiday. Thankfully no smell and gone the next morning. So many fires it's worrying.

TeaAndStrumpets · 10/08/2026 10:36

I see it's going to be 37ยฐ on Thursday, not happy. Our garden is just brown and dead.

I think the nearest fires to us are around Mansfield, a good 30 miles away, but Mansfield itself is barely 10 miles outside Sherwood Forest. I'm sure they will be vigilant, it covers a huge area.

Oioiqueen · 10/08/2026 10:42

@danglethedingle you mustn't be far from me as it was all over our local social media pages. I went to put the washing out and was cursing local farmers for burning their waste (quite common here). It was only when I saw posts that I realised. I guess it's similar to when we get the Sahara dust each year dumped on cars.
