What age did you decide to embrace your grey ?

Keep seeping so many grey blending videos and can’t tell if that’s just my algorithm or it’s actaully getting more popular

In my fifties as it was so expensive to colour and the condition was awful. I now have what lots of people describe as silver hair and it is very soft. We have grown together.

I was 49, kickstarted by lengthening grey roots over Covid.

Another one who was forced into it by Covid! I was 48 . I’m past caring now.

35 - never looked back

Right from the start - I think the first grey hairs started appearing in my 30s. I never wanted to get trapped into the cycle of dyeing it every month.

I went from red to completely white

I'm 59. I've never dyed my hair to hide the grey.

Just over 50 I think. I had it cropped very short into a pixie cut and just stopped dying it. I used to be dark haired and I was starting to feel a bit 'Dot Cotton'.

I'm now 61 and have pure white hair, which I get a lot of compliments on.

44. I will never. I think it looks dreadful

40! It wasn’t as bad as I thought and now at 42 often get compliments. The first few months are the worst but so glad I persevered through it. I love the fact I don’t have to think about colouring and topping up my roots every three weeks.

I tried a box dye at DD’s insistence a couple of times when I was in my early 40s. It was more depressing seeing the greys coming back through after a couple of weeks! Then she left to go to uni and I never bothered again.
Get compliments as my regular colour is almost black- it looks like I have intentional highlights framing my face. No regrets.

Same here except I started to go grey in my first pregnancy in my mid-twenties. I'm early 30s now and have shiny grey/white highlights.

40 the growing out was rough but as soon as they grey had grown past my ears I had it cut short and it just looked really good. I get a lot of compliments now.

I was have reactions to the dye and the roots were appearing within a couple of days so no regrets.

Never dyed it so didn’t have to grow a dye out. But I have been going steadily grey since late 30s and love it.

Though my grey is actually white and very soft.

Tried it once in my 40’s….not for me ! 50’s now and have my hair coloured and foils every 4-5 weeks.

Braved the Shave for my 50th Birthday - raised £1500 for Macmillan - and fully embraced my grey from then on.

I’ve never coloured my hair , I was a light blonde and started to get grey hairs in my 40s . I’m almost 60 and it’s now a silvery grey blonde and ironically it is now that people ask me what colour it is / where I have it done .

I'm approaching mid-60's and no idea if I have any grey hair. I've always been blond but now am helped to stay so by my wonderful hairdresser. He is a brilliant colourist.

I'm 70 and still haven't embraced the grey. 😁

Over 20 years ago my hairdresser made a mistake with my colour and I ended up looking like a witch for an important business conference. After this I decided to teach myself to colour and started off slowly with semi permanent so I could wash out easily if it went wrong.

I now consider myself a bit of an expert - even my now hairdresser comments positively about my colour - and will hopefully live to a 100 and still be a brunette. 😂

I’m growing mine now because I think long grey hair looks fabulous.

I’m 50. I only started getting grey hairs a couple of years ago and I don’t have many, but I do cover them now.

My mum has no plans ever to ‘embrace the grey’. She’s 82.

49 but I really regret it and wish I’d never stopped dying it 😢

Stopped during covid. I get so many compliments about the colour of my hair, whitey blond, but lots of different colours really. It was boring mouse before unless I had highlights.

Go back to the dye. It's your hair, do what pleases you

I'm 61 and have dyed my hair since I was 14, always a dark brown, sometimes with red or purple tones. Nothing too outlandish but I've alwayd seen myself as a brunette.
I knew there was a lot of grey. However its a bit of a shocker to see that having lost my hair to chemotherapy, its growing back pure white ! There isn't enough yet to see how its going to really look but it doesn't feel like 'me'.
