I genuinely just had to go check that wasn't more satire.

Do you think Hegseth has penis insecurities? He's a bit obsessed with testosterone

Much more likely a MAGArat has a company in testosterone testing (try saying that fast) and by happnestance another company that "does" military testosterone.

Although there is joke about a load of bollocks that I really can't be bothered to finesse.

PerkingFaintly · 15/07/2026 19:07

They're definitely into "last days of the apartheid government" territory.

Pieter-Dirk Uys used to say he didn't have to think up material for his comedy shows: the South African government would do it for him.

A military made more 'usefully' aggressive with testosterone enhancements is so dystopian it makes me wince in anticipation of how horribly that could play out.

Oops, I mentioned a sort of drug by name. I'd just say that US pilots were given "go pills" until early this century, to increase their alertness and aggression, and give a link, but unfortunately the link title mentions the same drug, bother it. Um. Well, it's been replaced anyway; there's a new one called modafinil. I wonder if that is hidden as it is on its way up....

Canned heat had a song about the one I am not supposed to mention:

JFC!

Hegseth announced they're gonna start screening for T and administering testosterone treatment for warriors found wanting.

testing mandatory, treatment voluntary (allegedly)

Just when I think it can't get any weirder... and what about that 'my body my choice' thing? JFC is right.

Unearth? Don't you mean invent?

I read something today about finding someone who would state they had firsthand knowledge that Venezuela interfered. But he doesn't stick to scripts so will most likely implicate himself.

I also saw a hilarious clip of him calling in to Fox and being asked about Graham's death and he went on a rant about election interference. The host tried about 4 times to interrupt him before they cut the mike.

Justsaynonow · 16/07/2026 02:27

Also read something about the widow of the man killed during one of the 'assassination' attempts demanding answers... but then I read an article about it 🙄
She can't believe that Trump would have set it up. She refused a call from Biden. And...

"Comperatore, a devoted supporter of Trump, still harbors a baseless conspiracy theory of her own: she believes, even though no evidence has shown it, that President Joe Biden was somehow behind the 20-year-old gunman in Butler."

The widow of the firefighter slain by a would-be assassin speaks out

Helen Comperatore has heard the conspiracy theories about the assassination attempt on Donald Trump that killed her husband. She has her own theory.

So this Qatar Jumbo. It looks to be true then that it is not fit for purpose/does not meet the specs needed.

" A White House official said: “Leaks that jeopardize the safety of the President, his staff, and the traveling press pool are dangerous and a threat to national security. The White House takes these leaks seriously and will do everything legally to ensure the individual or individuals are caught and it does not happen again.”"

After all, if the info was leak, and not "fake news", then logically it is true.

Exclusive: Officials asked to turn over phones at the White House as Wiles, Patel lead intensifying leak probe | CNN Politics

If I was a MAGA I would be demanding a full investigation into who authorized the use of this jet to carry the precious POTUS. Whoever approved it should be named, sacked, and prosecuted for putting dear leader into such unnecessary danger.

Thankfully the free press told the story and exposed this massive security lapse. Whoever said the Qatari jet is ok to use is likely an Iranian agent I reckon. Needs rooting out.

And on top of that, whoever approved the jet's use forced dear POTUS to lie. Forced him to put out that cock and bull about Mildenhall.

Trumpy Bingo attached.

My guess is it's about Maduro. He has spilled the beans.

Remember, the story was that he tampered with the voting machines. And I think that is why he was kidnapped, and why the charges against him are so weak. He done a plea deal, and gave a written statement that the dems bribed him to "fix" all the machines.

Trump is desperate to stop the Mid Terms. I think your Venezuela theory is a distinct possibility.

With or without enough testosterone, some "warriors" were asked to press a little button to launch missiles against an unarmed commercial vessel, manned by civilians, carrying crude.... and.... they did it! US has used missiles against an oil tanker.
This is the dystopian future so many times described on Apocalyptic films. We made it there, a while back. We are gonna need Mad Max, the Mocking Jay, Terminator, Judge Dredd, Neo and company. Please report for duty.

Thanks for the new Bingo Card @RedTagAlan. I have no idea how many I would have gotten right as the weather is great so I went for a walk at the beach, then read Ulysses (one of these may not be true), rather than listen to Trump's rifts on truth.
Today at 09:00 UK time, Sky News is showing a documentary on the attack on the primary school in Iran that Trump denies came from the US. I'll make time for that.

Did he say that the crew of the oil tanker were loonies from a mental assylum and criminal allien drug dealers?

In other words the Irish were treated precisely as the English of the same class were, only without the option of going to work in a factory for a very low wage.

Discussed this on another thread about the Scottish but, not really. The Scottish and the English working class and rural workers suffered due to what, if you are a lefty, you would term class warfare. In the case of the Highland clearances this wasn't much different to actual warfare in terms of a large civilian population displaced and homes/property burnt. Likewise the enclosures in England. It was very grim (and ironically funded to an extent by the money that some of the wealthy landowners made through colonial enterprises/slavery.)

Ireland suffered as a result of wealthy landowners and class disparity. It ALSO suffered as a result of colonialism. Likewise India had a rigid caste system many lower caste people suffered under but they also suffered as a result of colonialism. You can see the difference in how the potatoes famine in Scotland was treated versus Ireland. So Ireland got a double dose of oppression in simplistic terms

The English/Scottish can talk about things like the Highland clearances etc, being really bad without saying "this means we suffered just as much as the countries we colonised, we're the real victims".

The BBC report on Kegsbreath's call for testosterone testing for military 'warriors' included this bit.

Asked whether both male and female troops would be tested, and if female troops would be able to be evaluated for oestrogen-based therapy as they enter perimenopause, the Pentagon said it had no comment to add to Hegseth and Parnell's statements.

I think everyone here can answer that one.

I think re the US, and Irish immigrants (and Scottish Highlanders), there was an added thing of anti catholic. I remember reading that was a big thing back in the days of the foundong fathers. I recall that Catholics were banned from having guns in the US then, for example.

logicisall · 16/07/2026 11:26

There wasn't anything on BBC news, so I will have to check BBC Verity. The ad mentioned a military whistleblower saying that Trump, doubling down on his assertion that the US was not responsible for bombing the Minab school was hampering investigations.

The Epstein Files aren't going away. Todd Blanche's AG confirmation vote isn't a shoo in. Questions about conflict of interest in his role as Trump's personal lawyer and weaponisation of DoJ against Trump opponents are being asked, but all Democrats must vote against for it to be declined.

Yes, so the experience in the US was similar (though I think also sometimes Irish people would pretend to be Scottish to get round "no Irish" employers etc). And Catholic people (English, Irish and Scottish) faced discrimination in the UK too.
I just feel sometimes some Americans do this thing where everyone has a back story of oppression/colonisation, noones the oppressor ever. And of course even things like the Highland Clearances get recast as a story about colonialism because that's more comfortable than talking about class for Americans. I think in the long run it leads to the rise of groups like MAGA. History is complicated but it's not endlessly pliable.

And that is what led to the Boston Irish opposition to the freeing of black slaves; the black slaves might take their jobs.

Or the argument sometimes pushed (though it seems less popular now) that actually white people were working the fields as indentured servants in the early days of America and that was just like slavery or something. When even early on, black slaves were treated differently and had a different legal status to white indentured servants.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 16/07/2026 11:50

I have heard the first people landing in America may have been white indentured servants sent over a year earlier than the rest to get places ready for their ... masters? Owners? Employers seems the wrong word ... to live in. No idea of the truth or otherwise of that one.

I am not sure this is the right thread for this discussion, though.

Slaves are property. And property has no rights.

You can still see bills of sale in US museums, recording the sale of slaves.

It would be incendiary to suggest the reason these have not been erased by the current administration is they will need to have a starting point for their next bigly project.

And it's a very real question in 2026. I mean how much are you worth ? And are you worth more whole, or could we sell off bits of you to gain a better profit ?
