DH has had a proper sleep & I’ve had a bit of one but think I may well crash & burn before kick off! Hope I can stay awake though ⚽️🇬🇧⚽️🇬🇧

I'm going to bed around 10 to get up at 12.55....

HappiestSleeping · 05/07/2026 20:48

I thought about it. Football isn't really my game, wrong shaped ball and all that, but I feel I should watch it.

I am already struggling to stay awake though.

Sanch1 · 05/07/2026 20:48

We are going to bed in a bit then getting up at 1245. If it’s rain delayed i will reset alarm and go back to sleep for a bit! Will try and go back to bed after but not sure I’ll be able to sleep so might just have to get through the day on cafeine

I will stay up until half time but not sure if I can cope beyond that. Problem is, if it's exciting and we are winning I'll want to see it all. If we're losing I'll want to stay up in the hope of seeing turn around.

Definitely the wrong shaped ball and I am also not English so no skin the game… that said I usually wake up about three times in the middle of the night, thanks to perimenopause, so I imagine I probably will see a bit of it!

Weirdwonderfully · 05/07/2026 20:50

I literally probably could stay awake go
to sleep and wake up about 8 am and be okay but I’m choosing to not try to 😂 I’m happy to just see the result in the morning! I think my partner is staying up though.

ExitPursuedByABare · 05/07/2026 20:50

Nope. But I don’t sleep well so will probably check on the score during my wakeful night. I usually put R4 on about 4am.

DameOfThrones · 05/07/2026 20:52

Yes, none of us are working tomorrow which has happened by chance ⚽️

MrsBennetsPoorNervesAreBack · 05/07/2026 20:53

No. I might have stayed up but I'm sick so going to bed now!!

That's my plan too.

Then back to bed for a few hours after the game then up and out for work.
Well that's the plan ....🤔

UseItOrLoseIt1984 · 05/07/2026 20:54

Nah, I'm not that fussed. I think if they win this the next one is Saturday at 10pm so I'll definitely watch that one

WhatAMarvelousTune · 05/07/2026 20:55

Absolutely not. But my DH is already asleep in the guest room with an alarm set for about 12:55 to wake up and watch it.
He’s not actually great at waking up though, so I’ll find out in the morning whether he managed it.

patooties · 05/07/2026 20:56

Yes - I’m having a fucking house party to watch it. And need to be on a train to london for meetings at 630 😬🥲

tillyandmilly · 05/07/2026 20:57

Nope!

Femalefootyfan1 · 05/07/2026 20:58

Me, extremely unlikely as I’ve had two late nights this weekend and I can’t cope with three but DH is planning to stay up but we’re retired so he’ll have a lie in tomorrow

Didimum · 05/07/2026 20:58

I would like to, but I know I won’t be able to hack it. I even fell asleep during the Panama match!

I plan to get up and watch it at 6am with my 8yr old, without looking at spoilers. Saying that, I live in a main road in town so I think I will hear if they’ve won by the sounds of people walking home!

YorkieTheRabbit · 05/07/2026 21:00

Nope, wrong shaped ball for our house too😁

TheChosenTwo · 05/07/2026 21:02

Hahah good luck @patooties - please come back and update us as to how you’re doing tomorrow lunchtime 😂😂 sounds fun though! Well, until the going to work bit…

i’m not a football fan so not watching although I’ll be awake as it kicks off, I usually fall asleep between 1-2am.
dh and ds are going to bed at normal times and have set an alarm to wake up and watch. I have generously offered to sleep on the sofa so they can stay and watch it in our bed, then if they fall asleep at least they’ll be comfy! Dh also has a bit of a dodgy ankle/knee situation so stair use is being limited to essential use, would be crap for him to get downstairs only to discover it was delayed/rained off to have to come back up again! I would have just gone in the spare room but it’s having a bit of reno work done and the bed is out of use 🫠
anyway, I’m a bit of a hero here this evening 😂

FindingMeno · 05/07/2026 21:02

No because
a) I don't care, and
b) I have work in the morning.

ImpatientlyWaitingForSummer · 05/07/2026 21:04

We have made the ridiculously stupid decision to set an alarm to wake up and watch it, we currently have a one year old and a two year old and said one year old is currently not sleeping remotely soundly in the night. Tomorrow will not be fun!

TokyoSushi · 05/07/2026 21:05

I’m watching as much of Norway v. Brazil as I need to now, then I’ll go to bed for a bit, and then get back up. If we’re getting battered 3-0 or whatever then I’ll probably go back to bed, but if not I’ll stay up. Small business so we’re opening at lunchtime tomorrow.

Seawolves · 05/07/2026 21:08

I've been in bed since 8.30 and will be up at midnight but I will not be watching the football.

HelpMeGetThrough · 05/07/2026 21:09

Not a chance. I don’t care if we win or lose. Going to bed shortly for a proper sleep.

WimbyAce · 05/07/2026 21:13

I'm not. Partner will watch it and daughter wants waking up for it. Tbf I have barely watched the ones on at normal time so no way am I messing about in the middle of the night!

JudgeJ · 05/07/2026 21:14

tillyandmilly · 05/07/2026 20:57

Nope!

Me neither, my whatsapp is full of demands that I don't watch as I'm the kiss of death, I got shouted at for watching the last bit of the GP this afternoon though I did have the pleasure of watching Mad Max go into the gravel as I switched over! In '66 Germany equalised as I went to watch the end of 90 minutes.
