i sort of regret not staying up now but I have loads to do today so being sleep deprived wouldn’t have worked!! Checked the score about 5.30 and now very excited for Saturday night - am thinking now we could actually win the whole fucking thing 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

DH went to the pub to watch and rolled in at 4.30!! Work will be interesting today (luckily he is his own boss!).

I went to bed after Brazil v Norway, having set the alarm for 00:45. When the alarm went off, I really didn't feel like getting up so was glad DH said it was delayed.

Reset alarm for 1.45 and felt much more awake then. What a game!

Haven't been able to get back to sleep since. Thankfully don't have to work today.

So quite surprised to find how pleased I am by the result - might even watch if they get through to the semis.

Went to bed at my normal time, my husband stayed downstairs and watched. I was convinced that he wouldn't manage to get through the match without waking me up but he actually did! I have been really struggling with my sleep recently and have an important day at work today so I am so pleased I got to sleep. Husband is rather tired now though, after insisting he would not be!

Well done England. Beat Mexico 3:2! Despite all the odds stacked against them, the weather, the altitude, the Mexican fans trying to psyche them out, and keep them awake, by setting off fireworks outside their hotel, and screaming and shouting outside the hotel.

It all put more fire in their belly! If they can beat an almost unbeaten team in a place that was as difficult for them as Mexico City (nearly 8000 feet altitude,) with all the Mexican fans booing and chanting insults against them, they could make the final. Maybe even win! 👀

Here's my old lady story. Didn't stay up, never watch in event where I have an interest, I went to the loo at 3.30 and thought It's finished, sqinted at my phone, 1 - 2, they've not lost badly, then realised it was only 60 minutes in. Woke up again at 5.30 and looked again, 2 - 3, not a bad loss. Looked at the BBC site to see all the celebrations, why were they not in alphabetical order, England - Mexico!

I saw that @JudgeJ Mexico first, so Mexico 2: England 3, and the first place my head went to was Mexico has won, just for 2 seconds. Then it hit me.

I couldn't face staying up so have just watched the 'no spoilers' rerun that started at 07.10. We had to have a complete news blackout so no phones, no radio and wow, what a game ! Come on England !!

My DH has been doing that and I’ve had the occasional watch too. He’s a football fan but couldn’t face staying up!

They were truly brilliant and I kept saying ,if we loose ,we couldn't have done more so a good loss!

Same, keep forgetting things while I'm doing them due to tiredness, just wandered off for a coffee break while in the middle of a task because I forgot I was doing it 😂

I went to bed at 5, woke up at 8 and couldn’t get back to sleep! Now I’m wandering around my house like a zombie. 4 coffees down already
