I think mine would be Jurassic Park. It's a film that I go back to all the time, and just reminds me of my childhood.

Meet Joe Black. I love that film.

The scene with the peanut butter!

Koyaanisqatsi - I was stunned to my core!

I wonder about Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, would they feel lame and contrived now? The dialogue, we used to quote it so much. 'World's smallest 🎻

Back to the Future. Went to see it in London at a special pre-release screening. Such a good film and the beginning was so loud. Just reminds me so much of living in London in the 80s and the great times.

I was so annoyed as I worked it out about 30 minutes in and couldn't believe no one else had!

Did you watch it when it came out or later? I think the reason it stunned me was because I was around 18 and never seen a film like it

UniquePinkSwan · 05/07/2026 08:26

Goodfellas. My all time favourite film

Megsdaughter · 05/07/2026 08:37

Brokeback Mountain. Such a love story and just to watch the brilliant and beautiful Heath Ledger again.

Groundhog Day and Shakespeare in Love. I’ve never felt more in love with the world than after seeing those films, but it’s a one-time thing, the pink cloud doesn’t return in the same way.

This one for me too … but without my housemate at university spoiling the twist 🤬

I am that person who spoiled this for everyone watching it with me, it just seemed really obvious to me what was going on. I assumed everyone had guessed, how wrong I was.

The Usual Suspects , kept me guessing right to the end, I love to watch it.
also love The Tamarind Seed , I haven't seen that one for years, must try and find it.
Not sure if anyone has seen or heard of this one ... a sweet little film called Friends about a British boy who meets and falls in love with a French girl & the follow up film was called Paul & Michelle . I recently found the first one on Paramount & was delighted to see it again but can't find the follow up anywhere sadly.

Boo for ruining it like that for other people. I was totally immersed in that film and the twist hit me like a sledgehammer. The magic would’ve been completely ruined if some smart arse had ruined it like they did when I went to the see ‘The Crying Game’ - although that was a shit film so no real loss, but still irritating to not let people find out for themselves.

Local Hero is one of my most favourite films of all time! I was just thinking about it today. I was going to watch my DVD copy but my player isn’t working properly.

That film is the reason DH and I got together. We knew each other as part of a friendship group, and on one occasion we were all talking about our favourite films. Both of us said Local Hero, and that's how I knew he was the one for me.🙂

The Beach and Romeo and Juliet.

Both packed a very visual punch and very visual films.

Leo was so beautiful and is a brilliant actor.

muddyford · 05/07/2026 10:07

Singleton's Pluck. It's about a farmer who drives a flock of geese from the north of England to London. One of the few films we ate supper on trays for, rather than miss a second.

TheWitchwithNoName · 05/07/2026 10:39

Pans labyrinth, beautiful film with a bittersweet ending

Jasmin71 · 05/07/2026 10:46
