I think mine would be Jurassic Park. It's a film that I go back to all the time, and just reminds me of my childhood.

Dirty Dancing 💃 🕺

Shawshank Redemption - LOVED the twist. Which of course everyone knows now.

Closely followed by The Departed. Watched that it a packed cinema. At the unexpected bit (iykyk, if not I won’t spoil it) the whole cinema took a collective intake of breath. Incredible.

Love a good unexpected plot twist but they are never the same second time.

Oh god, yes. I still have a very special place in my heart for Jamie.

The Shawshank Redemption - such a wonderful film.
Also agree with pp who said the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The CGI was completely mind blowing at the time.

OutOfApricots · 04/07/2026 22:48

A couple more:

Monthy Python and the Holy Grail
The Dish
Love Actually <dons tin hat>😂

MMAMPWGHAP · 04/07/2026 22:49

Def Raiders of the Lost Ark. Forrest Gump a good shout too.

managingexpectations · 04/07/2026 22:53

Shawshank or green mile.
I can recite them line by line at this point.
I now cry waaaaay before the sad part because I know they’re coming up. They’re both films I watch by myself…ugly crier.

MellowZebra · 04/07/2026 22:57

Some Like it Hot
The Others
Thelma and Louise

Sixth sense. I was completely stunned at the end. No film has ever tricked me to the same extent although Shutter Island had a good try.

I was so annoyed as I worked it out about 30 minutes in and couldn't believe no one else had!

QueenStevie · 04/07/2026 23:06

Dirty Dancing

It's just on the telly now and I still love it.

Morepositivemum · 04/07/2026 23:10

CoodleMoodle
Hot Fuzz!
(I liked the other two movies in the Cornetto Trilogy as well but HF is the best by a mile. Imo it's one of the greatest films ever made.)

Last year we ‘bribed’ the teens into watching this, made it sound like a murder mystery and they didn’t particularly want to watch it so we promised cake, crisps etc. They nearly fell off their chairs when the madness started 😂😂😂

Nativetree · 04/07/2026 23:11

The English Patient

Tryingtobenormal124 · 04/07/2026 23:11

Dirty dancing 💃 🎶

SexyFrenchDepression · 04/07/2026 23:13

Primal Fear and The Sixth Sense. I'd love to bit know what happened and rewatch!

There are loads of TV series I'd love to watch again for the first time also.

CatsMagic · 04/07/2026 23:18

Once upon A Tme in Hollywood. Margot Robbie is absolutely incredible, particularly the scene where Sharon watches her movie - my heart actually broke. Not to mention the fact I never knew it had the twist ending … it blew my mind !

Also Kill Bill 1 & 2
Reservoir Dogs.

Quentin Tarentino is a genius. His writing & directing, & the actors he uses are all beautiful at storytelling.

Also Alien, Aliens , Terminator & Terminator 2 . Fabulous films.

And The Others, & Saw. I honestly never saw the twist coming !! Would love to watch them again not knowing.

Local Hero is one of my most favourite films of all time! I was just thinking about it today. I was going to watch my DVD copy but my player isn’t working properly.

Daisypod · 04/07/2026 23:22

Avengers Endgame every time for me

Some Like it Hot
The Others
Thelma and Louise

Some Like it Hot was my Dads favourite film. That always surprised me because he was so conventional. He is no longer with us, sadly. I would love to go back to when it first came on TV and watch it with him, that's for sure.

OnTheBoardwalk · 04/07/2026 23:45

The Rocky Horror Picture Show and seeing Frank come down in the lift

Ah, I was going to say Jurassic Park too! Or Jaws.

My favourites!
