I think mine would be Jurassic Park. It's a film that I go back to all the time, and just reminds me of my childhood.

Moulin Rouge, I remember being stunned at how amazing it was, particularly El tango de Roxanne, how the story and music builds into a devastating climax.

Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings. All of them. Can’t get enough of middle earth.

Yes, this! I saw them all at the cinema which was incredible but to go back and see them for first time, amazing!

Rocky 4 training montage is cinematic genius. 😊

It really is. I never appreciated it when I would watch it as a child, I’d get bored and felt like it lasted forever but as I got older I saw it in a completely different way!

JP is still a winner for me, but Lord of the Rings is a very close second!

Forrest Gump. I remember walking out of the cinema and wanted to go straight back in to watch it again.

JustSetFireToIt · 04/07/2026 21:17

The girl with the dragon tattoo
The Shawshank redemption
Alien
Harry Potter & the philosopher's stone

Hard to pick one but I remember being stunned by all the above.

As soon as I saw the thread title I immediately said Jurassic Park.
I loved anything dinosaur related in films since being a child and the special effects were pretty ropey.
Seeing JP in the cinema was fantastic.

FartNRoses · 04/07/2026 21:55

The Intouchables. One of my favourite films ♥️

Rewatched that recently and I couldn't remember the plot , having probably been tired the 1st time I watched it. Brilliant!

Very much would not be made now as is dated in many ways, but still Brilliant.
