@MrsSPenguinz, heated car seats are standard here, but our winters in NY and New England tend to be colder than yours, thanks to the Gulf Stream. Your spa sounds lovely. I don't think we have anything comparable in my area.
@sproutsandparsnips, I do love the wildlife in my area. It keeps things interesting and was very educational for the kids growing up. ABBA sounds like great fun.
Math, we are overrun with raccoons here too. We can't put the bins out the night before pickup because of them. They are absolutely brilliant at breaking into things.
DS is in Boston this weekend volunteering at the Head of the Charles (River) Regatta, so it's just DH and I at home. I'm doing some interior painting to spruce things up before Thanksgiving. I painted the ceiling in the dining area and family room yesterday. It took just under a gallon of paint, which is handy, and it looks like one coat will do it. I have a bit of touch-up to do today, as I'm waiting on some spackle to arrive from Amazon. If I decide to do the walls in there, it will be a bigger job and require two coats of paint, as the walls are a warm sand color and I'd redo them in off-white to match the kitchen and hallway.
DH and I are thinking about trading in my 2020 Subaru Forester for a 2027 hybrid model. The 2020 has about 68k miles on it and is running fine, but the gas mileage is much lower than the hybrid, and it's getting a bit dated. It's also still worth quite a bit as a trade-in. And to be honest, I'd just like a new car with more up-to-date technology and safety features. The one drawback is that the hybrid Forester doesn't come with a spare tire, as they use that space under the cargo area for the battery. You can, however, buy a spare tire with the tire-changing tools in a carry case and take it on road trips, which is probably what we'd do.
The fall colors have started to arrive here, but I don't think they'll peak for another week or two.
