What is your favourite season order?

Absolute favourite is Autumn. It's cooler, the cozy dark nights are all coming back to us. Crunchy leaves, candles, all the beautiful colours, excited little children running around trick or treating, crispy mornings, cold fresh air, hot chocolate, bubble baths, big coats, pretty fireworks and sparklers.

Winter. Most of the above but all white and wellies!

Spring. A bit of warmth finally returns and we can enjoy early morning walks again. The little ducklings on the canal. Bank Holidays. That's about it.

Summer. Shit. Hay fever, stifling heat, fluffy lank hair and looking like a sweaty miserable RAT.

Winter, Spring, Autumn, Summer

Autism is definitely my favourite for the same reasons as you OP.

Then Spring. My favourite weather is sunny, but with a nip in the air and after Autumn, Spring is the season where you're most likely to get this weather. In an ideal world I'd be wearing boots, jeans and a jumper and be the perfect temperature. I don't want it to be cold enough for a coat/hat/scarf or hot enough that I've got to look into T-shirts and sandals.

Then Winter. If pushed I'd rather layer up in a coat than get involved with sun cream etc.

Summer is my least favourite. Although I don't mind the mild summer days. I'd be happy if the temperature peaked at about 20 though.

I do enjoy the seasons though. I like a change! It would be boring if it was the same all year round. It's nice to switch between moaning about the cold, the rain and the heat 😂

Autumn!!! Not Autism!

SometimesTheIntrusiveThoughtsWin · 26/06/2026 16:54

Autumn, Spring, Summer, Winter

Same. Winter lasts way too long, after a few weeks the dark mornings and evenings really get me down.

Autumn, Winter, Spring if I could remove summer I would 🤣

littlesnatchabook · 26/06/2026 17:00

Spring, autumn, winter, summer. Weather wise, winter would definitely be last but I love Christmas so it gets points for that.

TheGirlWhoLived · 26/06/2026 17:01

In order Spring, Autumn, Christmas, Summer, Winter

Christmas season and Winter in January is different

NorthernStarlight · 26/06/2026 17:03

Summer, spring, autumn and then winter.

PintofFizz · 26/06/2026 17:04

I'm exactly the same as you OP for pretty much all the same reasons.

I like the quiet, emptiness of winter and being able to see the bones of the countryside. Spring is lovely for the daffs and other bulbs and the evenings getting a bit lighter.

VaxMerstappen · 26/06/2026 17:04

Spring (temperature tends to be just right, lighter evenings and so much new life and colour everywhere after a long winter)
Summer (long and sunny days, but sometimes a bit too hot - like now!)
Autumn (early Autumn - September to early October - is nice with the colours etc. But after the clocks change and we go back to dark nights and all the leaves fall, it's just miserable)
Winter (endless mentions of Christmas, everything looks dead, and feels like it goes on for about 6 months. We hardly ever get any nice pretty snow days any more either)

PissedOffAndHot · 26/06/2026 17:05

Spring, Autumn, can do without Winter unless it snows, summer...nah not this type of summer

TheChosenTwo · 26/06/2026 17:06

If I could guarantee summer was this nice consistently it would go at the top of my list but it’s usually shit and grey and wet so it’s not.
Spring, autumn, summer, winter.
I like all the seasons but often feel we have 11 months of grey wet cold and only the briefest glimpse of summer!

Autumn, winter, spring then summer way down on the list. I’m so much happier in winter!

PintofFizz · 26/06/2026 17:10

On reflection my ideal year would be
4 months of autumn
3 months of winter
4 months of spring
1 months of summer but never about 24 degrees.

JenniferandJuniper · 26/06/2026 17:16

Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter

Lelophants · 26/06/2026 17:16

I always think I love winter but mostly because of Christmas and tbh that’s the start of winter, so it’s not really winter after all. And I think because people are miserable about it I find it better than people think, whereas summer feels like so much pressure and gives me anxiety and fomo. I find most people who love summer are slim and childfree and actually do things to enjoy it.

So I guess overall my order is:
spring
autumn
winter/summer only tied last because I dont actually love Jan and Feb that much.

Lelophants · 26/06/2026 17:21

Thinking about it all Ive realised I like all seasons but I like it predictable! I hate the chop and changing constantly 4 seasons in a day.
Like if June and August was early 20s and just July was heatwaves, I reckon I could do all July because we’d have air con and a pool and prepare proper tropical timings. And that would then be it for the year.
Same as winter snow. week over Christmas and fun week in Feb, that’s it.
