Can anyone identify my lost cat pendant necklace - gift from my child from a charity shop?

I am hoping Mumsnet can work its magic in finding this exact model of necklace I have lost, which was a present from my son. He bought it for me in a charity shop in NE England and to make matters worse, he has sweetly said he plans to write to the tooth fairy asking her to “find” it for me instead of her giving him money for his next tooth! Aside from that being a bit heartbreaking, I fear his belief in the tooth fairy may be under threat if she doesn’t deliver!

• Approximately 2cm wide
• Dark silver/pewter-coloured metal; the coating was coming off a bit and it was more of a copper colour
• Openwork design: only the outline of a cat's head, not a solid face. Textured outline a bit like thin rope
• upright, pointed ears
• Two large, wide almond-shaped enamel eyes
• Eyes were a very bright lime/chartreuse green with black slit pupils
• Small metal triangular nose inside
• Pendant hung from a loop at the top centre
• the chin was rounded, not pointy
• Back was plain with no maker's mark that I can remember
• It may be vintage – I thought perhaps early noughties, but no idea really.

I only have a partial photo which I’m attaching. The overall look was minimalist and slightly gothic-inspired.

Does anyone recognize the maker, brand, or exact pendant? Hoping for a miracle against the odds!! I’ve scoured Etsy and eBay and Vinted, and tried reverse image search and AI search, as well as posting on a Reddit site for finding items (not much response).

Thank you so much.

Etsy has stuff along those lines. I searched 'wire cat face pendant'

Thank you; I appreciate your response. I found this one too. He’d know it was different, but it’s a good backup. I’m still holding out for an exact replica for now!

There are a few Etsy sellers who do custom “cat outline” pendants. They might be able to copy it?

I tried a reverse image search for you. Sadly didn't find anything similar, so I'm suspecting it may have been a one off. The Esty idea @GooseCreekandtheRiver mentioned is a good one though.

Dinutaseat · 04/06/2026 18:41

Yes, I agree getting it copied might be your best approach - it might be a one-of-a-kind item. I suppose you've exhausted efforts to find yours?

I think it's this one!

Dinutaseat · 04/06/2026 18:50

Oooh, @CatFairy @BloodandGlitter might have found the actual one! Looks identical!

TheFormidableMrsC · 04/06/2026 18:52

Have a search on Vinted. I found a specific pendant on there for a friend’s mum who was very distressed at losing hers due to Alzheimer’s. It’s definitely worth a shot. Good luck!

paintedpanda · 04/06/2026 18:54

Ooh yes that one looks like the one! But it’s in $. I hope they ship to the OP.

JohnnyFedora · 04/06/2026 18:58

I need to know 😂

Edited

It does say the seller will ship to the UK.

It looks like the one… If I were OP I’d go for it.

Oh my goodness you utter genius! They don’t ship to the UK but I will write to ask. I also do have family in America. Thank you so, so much

It’s a little mysterious; seller address is listed as UK, but the seller name has “USA” in it, and this specific item is listed as being in New Mexico. When I try to check out it says it won’t ship to my country. Still, I’ve written asking about postage, and hope for the best. At the very least, I have a full clear set of images that could be sent to someone to copy it thanks to the suggestions of asking Etsy jewellery makers. And as for @BloodandGlitter I can’t thank you enough - don’t know how you found it!

Sorry I just saw this message too. I think it may have been in the pocket of my scrubs at work/ended up coming undone in my scrubs when I got changed, as the clasp wasn’t great…either way, since lost in the bowels of the hospital laundry department. Not hopeless, but near enough.

Thank you all SO much

You don't work in theatres, do you?
Might it have fallen into a patient's abdominal/ chest cavity?

HedgehogsOnTheWall · 04/06/2026 20:51

😭 at early noughties being described as "vintage".

My dd did the 90’s for a HISTORY topic when she was in year four.

To make it worse that was eight years ago.

Yikes! I do occasionally, but it’s in exactly the context of getting changed into and out of theatre scrubs that I might have lost it (like putting it in the pocket of non-theatre scrubs before changing into theatre ones, so there’d be no risk of it falling off my neck into a patient!)

What a kind thought. The seller has replied! Hopefully, it’s just an eBay glitch. They are happy to post to me so with luck the technicalities can be sorted!

Like @JaneJeffer, I also found this post inappropriately hilarious!!! Poor cat necklace!!

I shouldn’t actually have described it as such in my post! For the record, I consider the nineties to be more or less present day!
