That has nothing to do with Sikhs and everything to do with police incompetence and systemic failure.

Nothing to do with Sikhs especially, but everything to do with 2 tier policing directed by the government.

All the governments seem to have caused this situation in one way and another and Tony Blair definitely started it

i wish some of them would return home, why anyone thought it was a good idea to allow so much immigration is beyond me.

No, you have to go back to the 50s to see mass non white immigration... funnily enough under the Tories - see Enoch Powell's speech.

When in the EU (ie under Blair, as you mention him) the uk had very strict criteria on non EU migration, hence one argument by the Brexitiers that being in the EU was racist..... well we got what we asked for.

@5MinuteArgument The Boris wave and then followed up by Sunak, was over 4m, NOT 1m.

What evidence do you have of any new Labour Govt directives on 2 tier policing?

This is the problem with this debate, too many seek to make it about their political views.

2 tier policing was never mentioned prior to July 2024, yet it became a common slur just days after Labour got into power.... i wonder why?

Now used extensively over the actions of the incompetent actions of Hampshire police.

No such language used with the Police's treatment of women who have been raped, of ethnic minorities, over the numerous and very recent inquiries into UK Policing, esp in the Met.

It gets worse the times has reported that the police wanted to publish a statement making out Henry was the racially abusive aggressor until the family outrage stopped them. Then they wanted to intervene during the the case and the CPS had to stop them

We do need a full investigation into the police action in this case. Including this intended statement.
Come on, they ban public discussion of cases to avoid issues with trials and then this lot wants to release an official statement ahead of the verdict? At every step is becoming more apparent that it is the whole police force having serious problems with their policies. And it needs to be tackled ASAP.

Beyond belief. Working class white girls. Raped sexually abused and groomed. For years. By Pakistani - British Pakistani men. Ignored by the police, the government, the establishment. Why?

That’s awful and wrong. The opposite of the Welsh choir boy media narrative. To make out Henry was the aggressor.

'What evidence do you have of any new Labour Govt directives on 2 tier policing?'

See below @Alexandra2001 . Labour were in Government in 2025 weren't they?

'The guidance was introduced in 2025 in response to the 2022 policing race action plan published by the National Police Chiefs' Council and
College of Policing to enhance trust in police, particularly among black communities.'

Personally, as an atheist, I am fed up with these grievances and beliefs from hundreds of years ago being used as an excuse to harm or oppress people. Nobody cares if I am offended by their stupid and backward beliefs and I am offended all the time by the stupidity and ignorance. 1, 2, 3 deleted by mumsnet mods. Cause you can't criticise religion on here.

This! Well said

Leaving aside the disgusting murderer and his family, the complete capitulation to equality training by the police who attended has to be seen to be believed. If we were not shown the body camera evidence we would just think Henry was being aggressive to the police rather than just dying at their feet. Common sense would tell you that someone lying down and saying he was stabbed did not present a danger to the police so why the eagerness to cuff him. But it has been drummed into the police that if anyone implies there has been racism, critical thinking, humanity and common sense go out the window. They were literally following orders from above. If I were a serving police officer I would be looking to leave. Surely this two tier approach to crime cannot sit well with them. It makes them look so dumb. In this instance the cheery, “I don’t think you are mate”, or the “No, but we have to look don’t we” is so craven and embarrassing and frightening. We all pay our taxes for public service - we all deserve equality of that service.

The CEO of Iceland has said there is definitely two tier policing going on. He cites an incident where a black man was tampering with the milk in one of his stores. The sales assistant, an Asian man, asked him to stop. The black guy called the police and told them he was being racially abused and the police were there in minutes - they cuffed the assistant and took him away. It took a few hours before he was released and then the black guy was charged. But he then says that the police are not bothered or do not attend for the growing violence on their staff, or the massive amount of shoplifting. Maybe they need to say the magic word to get the police to attend. Maybe we all should. Then we may, as tax payers, get the service we pay for.

Spot on @Northermcharn The police covered up the grooming/rape gangs.
The police did not believe them or their families as white working class, they turned a blind eye and some…
It stinks to high heaven. Rupert Lowe has had an investigation and still is …other parties refused to investigate.
The details are horrifying and not for anyone to read who doesn’t have a strong stomach. It’s truly barbaric.

The more that comes out about Henry is sickening how the police tried to change the narrative as he’s white. I’d be suing them if I was his parents …I don’t know as I’m not on X but I believe Elon Musk has said he’d a fund a prosecution against the police for the parents.
It needs a total overhaul.
It’s different treatment for different ethnicities.
I’m disgusted by the police utterly disgusted am do not trust them.
