Does anyone believe Nicola Sturgeon?

As per title, does anyone actually believe NS with her claims she had no idea her husband stole £400k, didn't notice the MANY luxury items just appearing around her home, and is a victim in his deceit?

His salary was between £70 and £80k apart from one year a decade ago when it was £107k. In other words, most years he was taking home about £57k post tax.

I stand corrected.

She said she didn’t recollect seeing it at all

👀

She must have visited MIL with hubby. Are we supposed to believe that MIL never once mentioned the motor home parked outside her house by her son? Like “ooh when are you going on holiday in your new van?” “How do you like your new holiday home Nicola?” “When are you going to shift your van off my frontage?” I can’t believe that huge vehicle can be parked outside and never brought up in conversation!!

Renphoaddict · 31/05/2026 23:36

I think she knew but hid it so that her political career was not impacted - I don't think it was about personal finances I think she was trying to reduce personal damage to her reputation.

soundsys · 31/05/2026 23:53

I actually do. I mean, there’s a separate issue about a lack of judgement keeping him as Chief Exec when she became FM, but I do believe they were living pretty separate lives and she didn’t know. A lot of what she says rings true for me.

Why do you think she did nothing when the auditors resigned due to likely fraud?

Dotheseasideshuffle · 01/06/2026 07:06

Having had a husband that gaslit and lied to me, including that his business was earning £50k a year when it was earning £0, yes I could believe her.

The fact she’s a politician makes me less inclined to do so.

NS was happy to create a sham marriage to a man , because the truth of her same-sex relationship would cost her votes. So she is more than capable of lying about her party’s finances.

It's not her fault that some people are homophobic.

£100k for one item of ‘transport’.

It was listed as motor vehicle not transport:

ShiftySquirrel · 01/06/2026 07:44

She shut down discussion about the party's finances when questioned, the auditors resigned and the accounts couldn't be signed off.
That to me says at the very least she was aware on some level. Why on earth would you not want to get to the bottom of it otherwise? Or she believed her husband's word over multiple other professionals.

She's also responded 'no comment' to some questions whilst supposedly helping the police. That doesn't show her in a good light.

A small charity I help with has been through this. When someone tries to hush it up, look carefully at their motivation.

It's not her fault that some people are homophobic.

But it is her fault that investigations were blocked.

Scotland has had loads of particularly lesbian politicians. Just saying

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 01/06/2026 08:51

She has told such ridiculous lies about this. She claims to never go in the kitchen of her home? Aye right. She claims not to have shut down questions about the finances despite being in video doing so. She claims not to have no “conscious memory” of seeing a massive fuck off campervan at her MIL’s? Aye right.

BeardofHagrid · 01/06/2026 09:03

Imagine stealing all that money and still looking like a hobgoblin from Middle Earth 😂 what a sad little life, Nicola.

Are you saying some separatists are homophobic? Surely not given the SNP and the separatists are constantly peddling how progressive and forward thinking they are.

Unionists had no problem with Ruth Davidson.

I imagine most of them came into politics later than NS did. And it doesn't mean that being out didn't cost them votes.

But Sturgeon only married Murrell in 2010. In 2011 Scottish Conservatives voted for Ruth Davidson as leader.

No-one should be posting homophobic comments - irrespective of what side of the political divide they sit on. You get a-holes across Scotland.

Speaking from personal experience I think it’s easy for someone running a business it’s all smoke and mirrors dividends loan to company repayments blah blah blah add is credit card guaranteed loans etc to make the business look more successful than it really is. But Peter Murrell must have been on PAYE and she was the leader of the SNP and had to sign off the accounts.

It's not me that is making the distinction between unionists and separatists. I am simply saying that being a lesbian isn't necessarily not a problem in politics. And we don't even know whether NS is a lesbian or not or even whether her marriage to PM really was a sham.

You edited your post and now mine doesn't make sense! @SirChenjins

It does make sense 😊 I edited mine because it looked like I was just honing in on one ''side'.

PhaedraTwo · 01/06/2026 09:33

Well we don't know the political persuasion of the persons posting abuse.

Still didn't stop Conservatives voting for Ruth Davidson as leader and the Conservatives having a resurgence in Scotland under her leadership. You're the one who said Sturgeon would lose votes if she came out, yet Scottish Conservatives gained votes under Ruth Davidson's leadership.

No I didn't. I said it was a possibility.

So you keep saying. I'm not sure what your point is beyond the conclusion that Sturgeon must have been worried that "there was a possibility" separatists are more likely to be homophobic than Unionists.

Didn't they gain votes under NS - but lose them under straight men?
