Henry Nowak

Heard of him? Probably not, because there seems to be an almost complete news blackout about him. Basically the police handcuffed him and let him bleed out because they thought he may have said something racist - he didn't, it was a lie told by his murderer. Henry was 18.

The murderers brother should also go to prison/ Lying pos. Apparently he'd told - lied to - the police in advance when he called them that the white guy had attacked his brother.

And the mother. A mother of sons who hid a knife and left another mother’s son dying on the ground without calling an ambulance.

BeMellowAquaSquid · Yesterday 23:30

Someone sent me a petition to sign on Henry today but even then I couldn’t find out what I was signing for. It’s only through being on here I’ve fully understood. The police have failed so so miserably. Whilst not the same as the Sarah Everard incident in any way shape or form no lessons are ever learned by the people we are supposed to trust in. That hurts. His poor family it’s just unfathomable that something so avoidable has happened again.

The BBC showed the footage. I assume as the killer had been found guilty that it had happened some time ago.

I'd not heard of prior.

The footage is awful.
He's on the floor being treated like a criminal whilst he's dying.

What an awful thing to have happened. I can not imagine what his parents are going through.

It happened in Dec 2025. Henry was walking home from uni when he was attacked and killed by Digwa with one of his many weapons.

Yes. I believe she will be in court too. I don't know how the lying brother escaped.

I believe Digwa was reported in court as "speaking lovingly about his knives". All of his family knew exactly what they were telling lies to defend.

The judge's sentencing remarks are here, by the way:
Digwa Final Sentencing Remarks
It's truly a bizarre read- very much not in a good way.

Apparently the murderer’s family called Henry’s family and the judge racist. This was after the judge left the court. Security and police had to step in. So even after the son murdered, the mum hid the knife and the brother lied on the phone, they are still throwing the racist word around. The word racism no longer has the power it once did. Because it has been hijacked by the lawless to excuse and profit from their crimes. It has been overplayed and people just react with an eye roll. A shame for those who really have been a victim of racism.

Totally. The thing is that the more it is claimed so incoherently and clearly untruthfully, the less meaning it has. It's already happening.

NoDrums · Yesterday 23:39

Fizbosshoes · Yesterday 23:01

Has the brother been charged with anything?
The report i saw (bbc news at 10 this eve) had a recording of him calling the police saying they had been racially abused.

The footage is upsetting and horrific and it makes no sense that they didnt even attempt to look for or attend to any injuries while he lay dying (regardless of who the alleged attacker was)

Edited

No don’t think so.

I think some on the right were/are hoping to really stir things up with this case. There was a MN poster the other day advocating for a mob to descend on the relevant police station.

Lies. That was me and I DID NOT advocate a mob descend on the police station. Work on your comprehension skills if you have any.

Netcurtainnelly · Yesterday 23:41

Another waste of a young life . . We need people to learn how to walk away if someone says something we don't like or agree with. Nobody wants to and often it ends like this.
What started it somebody bumping into somebody on a pavement and saying something.
Until we can.lrarm to ignore people or diffuse conflict properly it will keep happening sadly.

FrayaMorstater · 30/05/2026 15:38

It happened 5 minutes from me. It’s terrible and the police have literal blood on their hands. The poor young man was telling them he’d been stabbed and they ignored him.

The police were absolutely completely out of order but let’s not forget it was the killer who actually stabbed and killed him and the brother and mother who tried to cover it up. Instead of calling an ambulance ffs.

Thanks, I hadn't seen that.

An excerpt from the Digwa Final Sentencing Remarks:

'You [Digwa] then showed a callous disregard for his wellbeing, knowing you had stabbed him to the chest. You continued to make films of Henry suffering, ignoring much of his desperation at having been stabbed. You told him that had not happened, no doubt to convince others who were nearby. Your attitude did not change even though Henry was clearly going downhill very fast. Your brother did much the same, although he may just have been accepting that which you had told him, rather than lying himself. You lied to him that you had been attacked, picking up on his question about whether it had been accompanied by racism by falsely claiming that Henry had called you a "Paki.” I am sure that Henry had said nothing racist. You are the only person to make that claim and it is completely at odds with his previous character

You joined your brother in relating these lies to the police. By then your mother and father were at the scene. Gurpreet explained that no weapons had been involved or were present. In fact, whilst he was talking to the call operator, you told your mother to take the murder weapon, sheath and belt away which she did. You did not tell your father what had really happened. Much of the time you just stood by as he, at least, tried to do something to help Henry'

The last time a mob descended on a police station was because of those two thugs who attacked the police at Manchester airport.Of course Andy Burnham rocked up to cheer them on 😡

AsItRains · Yesterday 23:50

EarlNeedsAHome · Yesterday 23:13

This case is absolutely undeniably horrific and very sad, but the posters that are trying to use this one case as evidence of a police force that actively discriminates against white people are completely deluded. Something terrible happened, and it's a tragedy. My heart is with his friends and family who are feeling this dreadful loss. Please don't make this into something it isn't though for political purposes. There are cruel and awful people in this world of every race, religion and gender.

'Henry told officers that he could not breathe nine times. He told them he had been stabbed four times. The response from one officer was "I don't think you have, mate".'

What is your explanation for the contrast in police behaviour between the man lying dying on the ground begging for help and their treatment of the attacker, standing, unhurt, surrounded by family, who aided and abetted him in murder?

Accusations of ‘racism’ have become a magical phrase that strips people in positions of authority of common sense and their ability to carry out their duties in a meaningful way. It isn’t solely the officers fault - it reflects a systemic problem in training that seems to prioritise feelings over actual acts of physical violence.

Hi. I can't remember the name of the poster now, but if it was you I wasn't the only person to make that interpretation. So maybe you need to write more clearly so people don't get the wrong impression? Apologies for having done so.

NoDrums · Yesterday 23:55

@rolloverbeethoven to your initial point about media coverage, SkyNews dedicated an entire TV channel to livestream the entire George Floyd murder trial. The feed ran live from 3pm to 11pm BST, Monday to Friday.

Like what many other posters have said regarding an observable materially lower amount of reporting of Henry Nowak’s murder, Sky did not live broadcast Henry Nowak's case statement today. BBC News didn’t either.

The point being made is the complete difference in treatment of this horrible, tragic event by local, British media, which speaks to a much greater problem in the UK today, namely differential treatment of British citizens. If white people are discriminated against, it is still racism. And it’s no more acceptable than racism against any other group of people. More people need to have the courage to say this, and also not be called far right for it. The UK is such a mess, it’s really depressing. And to be clear, I am not white.

The police handcuffed a man that had been accused of assault. Then (1 minute later) they realised he was more severely injured than first appeared, and reacted appropriately. They couldn't save him, but they didn't cause his death.

The judge has stated the facts. An investigation has started to determine whether the police acted correctly. What qualifies you to preempt the outcome of that?

They didn’t cause his death.

But they did cause him to die terrified, knowing no help was coming, not being listened to and in handcuffs.😔

How people are remotely defending these scumbag police officers, who are supposed to ‘serve and protect’, is beyond me.

Edited to add: it was more than a minute. But even a minute is too fucking long. He told them repeatedly he had been stabbed and couldn’t breathe.

How could any mother live with guilt of this magnitude? Is there any? It makes me so sad that mothers in particular are so enamoured by their own children that they will seemingly turn a blind eye to the loss of a life.

The mum had hidden the knife (taken it home I believe), the brother had told the police the white man had been racist and hurt them (his poor eye), they couldn't see the stab wounds. I'm certainly not protecting them - just stating facts.

He’s literally slurring his words, you can hear how much pain he’s in.

‘I dont think you have mate’ I hope those words fucking haunt him forever
