If you have a 50ish year old man in your life, what’s his favourite material possession?

My husband has a milestone birthday coming up and he’s quite difficult to buy for, so looking for some inspiration, please. I’m taking him away to celebrate, but did also want to get him some gifts.

When he hit his late 40's my DH re-discovered model railways, so I now buy him either a train set or a specific locomotive he wants. For his 50th, I got him an expensive diesel loco model that had programmable sounds and lights - now common but something that was rare back then and had only recently come into production. For his 60th, just bought him a train set in a different scale (size) as he was pontificating about starting to model different sizes. Now he has 4 different small layouts, in 3 different sizes. Very easy to buy stuff for him as he's happy with anything - different eras, different regions, different countries, different sizes, etc. We seem to have come to an agreement that I buy him the locos and coaches and he buys the scenery, buildings, kits etc as he's as happy making kits than he is running the trains. It's also given him a new interest in model electronics so he now also has an extensive electronic workbench making moving mechanical items (meccano meets servos/motors etc) and putting lighting/sounds into all the engines/coaches he has.

I also bought him a PittBall head razor a few years ago and he uses that every day

its his 60th next year and I have no idea what to get him as he pretty much has everything he wants 😂

DP is turning 50 soon. He loves his car and football. Already has season tickets and his car. He is not so subtle hinting now. Think he is aiming high hoping I win the lottery. It was F1 tickets paddock passes. I think I could manage weekend normal style passes and travel lodge. Fancy weekend away in Las Vegas.

his latest not so subtle hint was a watch. Which I think is in budget. He also wants a party at his favourite bar. Meal out at a nice restaurant. Plus not being in the uk.
