If you have a 50ish year old man in your life, what’s his favourite material possession?

My husband has a milestone birthday coming up and he’s quite difficult to buy for, so looking for some inspiration, please. I’m taking him away to celebrate, but did also want to get him some gifts.

Bicycles (plural). Bed.
Some men are into watches but it seems like a very niche interest so would avoid unless they've already a collector (and then it would have to be the right watch).
Have had some success with original art (woodcut illustrations sometimes) of a significant place or subject.

He is 60ish, and his best thing is his chainsaw sadly,

His golf clubs, bespoke and fitted to him, closely followed by all the golf shite thay goes with them,

Oh he also loves his ski boots that are custom moulded to his feet.

His car, his watch and an expensive leather hold-all that was a 50th birthday present. He also likes various artworks that we have bought over the years and his beer fridge, especially when stacked with his favourite lager from the Wye Valley Brewery!

Watches is a good one, mine has two tags, a Stirling timepiece ine and an apple one. Lots of men that age love watches.

His car, we're now both members of the car owners club (membership was his christmas present) and get to go on trips and to events.

He also likes watches and always gets compliments from other men about his Tudor, it wasn't too expensive either so its his every day watch.

In previous years I got him membership for Brooklands which he loved.

I bought my history loving DH a Nile Cruise for his 50th, naturally I tagged along 😆. He isn't in to 'stuff'.

Mine is 72 now but when he was 50 I bought him a lathe. That was, and is, his hobby.

We needed a crane and the roof of his workshop to be temporarily removed in order to winch it in.

For my 50th he bought me a diamond tennis bracelet. I reckon I earned it. (They were roughly equivalent in price).

I'm a bloke. And don't want gifts I haven't asked for, otherwise it's all pretending, or asking if there's a receipt, and all that. Maybe he is the same, dunno. I'm a bit over 50 but not so it makes a difference. The thing is with hobby stuff, you know what is good and what you want and what is a bit rubbish and there's no way you would know that.
