My husband has a milestone birthday coming up and he’s quite difficult to buy for, so looking for some inspiration, please. I’m taking him away to celebrate, but did also want to get him some gifts.

Probably his sports equipment- tennis rackets and golf clubs. He likes art too (contemporary/graphic design type stuff) and our friends bought him a piece of Arsenal-themed artwork for his 50th (It’s nicer than it sounds 😂)

For DH’s 50th I bought him an expensive electric guitar.

For his 70th, I booked and planned a completely surprise trip overseas involving the adult DC and GDC. I had to sort everything out inc. the pets without him having a clue about it.

I only told him about the trip 24hrs before we flew so he had time to decide what clothes to wear. Even the teenager who still lives at home was unaware of the trip, so it was a fun surprise for him too.

Must admit, I was amazed that no-one blabbed, especially the adult DC. They were brilliant. DH’s face when I told him was an image I’ll never forget. 😁

Turntable, records, vintage band T-shirts, a couple of cheap classic vehicles that always require tinkering with. My 55 year man is very analogue and not at all materialistic. His dream present would be time off for a road trip off the beaten track. He’s quite niche but I like him.

Bought mine a big, dock-off sword last birthday, a life-size replica of one that his character in World of Warcraft would wield.

For Father’s Day, I’ve bought him a second hand set of golf clubs (as I’m apparently going to add golf widow to WoW widow!), and I’ve git him a custom created video game.

At Christmas, I bought him an original Bakelite home phone.

Specialised tastes here though!

My head immediately went to my dad, and thinking what he likes, but then I realised that my husband is nearly 48. When did that happen?!

Anyway, probably his Meta glasses.
