What are you doing in this heat?

I went to the beach first thing for a swim, then took the dog for a walk. I then went round to a friend's for coffee.

It's now far too hot for me to be outside so I'm lying on the sofa watching Erin Brokavitch. DH is due home in a couple of hours, and hopefully it will be cooler then. I might go down to the beach for another swim, and maybe we'll have a BBQ for dinner.

It's too hot to do much this afternoon. What are you all doing?

Cleaned my car interior early, then we went to a lovely park with splash park for a couple of hours for our daughter and had slushies in the shade. Now in garden under canopy, washing’s out.

I’ve been saying “but it’s May” for the last 3 weeks as I’ve been wearing my winter coat, so I’m delighted to be saying “but it’s May” to 30 degree weather 😂

We went out at 8.30am this morning to Deal (Kent). Went for a lovely breakfast, wandered along the sea front, played Mini golf (had an ice lolly) then came back home via the Health Club where we had a swim. Home by 2pm. Hung a washing out and we’re chilling in our cool lounge (I’ve had a snooze). Heading back out at 7pm to Hythe for an evening stroll and fish and chips.

Sounds lovely.

Glad it's not just me!

I'm hoping it cools down enough that we can eat dinner outside.

Done a few loads of washing, cleaned the bathroom, dh and I went to the garden centre and to Tesco for a few bits. Really don’t feel like cooking anything for dinner!

I'm contemplating going back to the beach for another swim, but will have to wait for DH to come home as I have had a large glass of wine .....

Played an online game, booked a holiday, went to the gym and now I'm just sitting here browsing MN in the dark with a fan. It's like a dark cave in the house, right now.

It 28 degrees outside, but relatively cool in my house. I have been reading and done a little light house work downstairs. I listening to Romesh Ranganathan whilst doing it. Reading and relaxing for the rest of day for me.

As it's 32° here, I've moved my G&T forward to now. It's hitting the spot.

That sounds perfect!

It was 24 at 8am this morning at the beach, but 28 when I got home at lunch time. I think it's hotter now.

We've deep cleaned the sofas, using our carpet/upholstery cleaner machine thing. I wanted to do it on a day when it would all dry quickly!

Apart from that, just resting. I'm not a fan of this sort of heat.

Tomorrow, I have a dentist appointment, then I'm going to do pilates because they studio is beautifully air conditioned. Home after that, until I have to venture out to take DD to the hairdresser.

We're going to spend Wednesday around/in the pool at the gym! We shall pretend we are on holiday, reading books and relaxing.

Some friends we haven't seen for ages came to visit this morning so we went for a walk before it got too hot then came back to the cool house and had cold drinks (mostly water), strawberries and grapes then DD and I had some naan bread and salad and DS also had naan bread, then everyone has dispersed for this afternoon; I took DD to work, DH has gone off to the Tanfield railway (I think) with his friend and DS is away on the metro to see his friends in the shops.
I am revelling in having the house to myself, it hasn't happened for so long!
I've brought a bit of washing in and put it away, cleaned some of the bathroom - little toilet all done but bigger bathroom only toilet, sink and floor so far - I may do bath/shower/windowsills later, once floor is dry.
Not doing too much at once in this heat, staying in the cool house now.
So I've played a game of scrabble, read some of my book, checked my car insurance quote as it's up for renewal shortly, entered some competitions (well, two) and now mumsnetting.
I feel like i missed the last two bank holidays because of having to do various things so really appreciating this one.

Feeling sick and dizzy, so lying on the sofa. I hate the heat. If I was abroad near a pool or the sea I can tolerate it, but not here.
I got up at 6, did some hoovering, a couple of loads of washing, some light research for the school play that I'm helping to produce, and that's about it. Am supposed to be going to a garden party but can't face the thought of moving away from my aircon unit!

Reading, eating lots of ice cream and very little else - it’s been absolutely perfect!

Wow I have done hardly anything today.

Finished my book & a bit of planting.

However it’s still 32 here, sunbathing now.

It’s actually not too bad here, there’s a breeze going through the house and the fans are on.
We were out with the dogs before 6 this morning, I tidied up, hung out the washing then spent a couple of hours in my Shed doing embroidery.
We had chicken salad for lunch, DH and the dogs have spent most of the afternoon snoozing, I’ve finished my embroidery, it’s been very peaceful here.
I can’t tolerate the heat, tomorrow I have an optician appointment first thing and a hospital appointment for a minor op on my leg in the afternoon; I’m not looking forward to getting in the car.

What heat? Wish we had some 😪

Sitting knitting in the shade in the garden. There’s a lovely breeze and it’s very pleasant.

Stuck in a hospital! But the aircon is working well! Had to ask for an extra blanket last night!
