Women who consider themselves 100% straight: Would you rather have sex with a very physically unattractive man or a very physically attractive woman?

…personality aside (say, they are both equally nice and respectful people). Just interested to hear people’s responses after a colleague asked me this earlier. Her theory is I can’t be 100% straight cos I picked the woman. I think it’s bollocks. I’d enjoy neither but the man would gross me out way more

@PiglingBlandingsif he still looked like this.

With those alternatives, I'd just have sex on my own

Exactly that’s what vibrators are for.

Alwaysthelastone · 14/05/2026 09:47

The follow-up question was if you went to prison for the rest of your life would you get yourself a girlfriend? (This colleague is always asking ridiculous but often very entertaining “would you rather” questions - gets us through the day lol)
I’d probably aim to get the biggest, toughest woman in there to be my girlfriend so I’d have protection

@EvieBB if I asked would you rather have sex with a cat or a dog.? Which fits analogy.

Neither of course .........but I can still find them aesthetically pleasing to look at

Tambora · 14/05/2026 13:05

Neither. I'd much rather go without.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 14/05/2026 13:10

God I'd rather get a new job with different colleagues.

On the premise that it HAS to be one or the other, I would choose the man, because I'm not sexually attracted to women as a sex class.

In reality of course I wouldn't choose either.

This has really made me think about the nature of attraction and lack of it but ultimately I agree with you and I’d pick the man.

VikingLady · 14/05/2026 13:13

Well, if I’m not attracted to either then it’s just down to who would be a better experience, right? Women know women’s bodies, are generally more polite and caring people, better hygiene, and she would be less likely to chase her own pleasure and get off in 3 minutes whilst I’m simultaneously bored and frustrated and expect me to be grateful for the attention. So the woman.

Plus we could chat over a cuppa afterwards.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 14/05/2026 13:13

Most of the (surprising many) men I slept with back in the day were unattractive (well I didn’t fancy them anyway).

But now I would pick the woman

harriettenightingale · 14/05/2026 13:53

I’d be interested to see what would happen if straight men were polled this, if they would prefer a man or an unattractive woman.

KilkennyCats · 14/05/2026 13:56

Neither, obviously. I’d pick men every time and I wouldn’t pick one I wasn’t physically attracted to 🤷🏻‍♀️
Why would you assume any different?

StarryLo · 14/05/2026 13:58

Man

WhatATimeToBeAlive · 14/05/2026 14:02

I'd love to see this question put to men but the other way round! I bet it would be 100% the woman 🤔

Jk987 · 14/05/2026 14:03

Celibacy given that choice.

DoggusDomesticus · 14/05/2026 14:15

If I were being forced into having sex I didn't want to have, it'd be calling the police!

But if I must get into the spirit of the "game" then I'd choose the man. No idea what to do with women's bits. Yuck.

And I quite fancy Jackson Lamb!

UniquePinkSwan · 14/05/2026 14:22

Man

Backedoffhackedoff · 14/05/2026 14:24

neither

Malasana · 14/05/2026 14:26

That’s quite the inappropriate conversation to be having at work.

No, I have been around women all my life, at school, amazing friends, slept in the same bed, it's not happening. Some people are just very straight. Most people are not, though, IMO.

Fibrous · 14/05/2026 14:30

woman, and yeah I'd probably go lezza in prison. Sounds like a good way to pass some time.

EvangelicalAboutButteredToast · 14/05/2026 14:32

Is the physically unattractive man really good in bed?

AprilMizzel · 14/05/2026 14:34

Hard to think how those would be my only two choices.

I've only found a very few men sexually phycially attractive - in RL and media - and so far zero women - I can admire beauty and personality without feeling any sexual desire. The men it's not so much about looks or "being nice".

I saw an FBI male profilor - and I was prepared to eye role but think he wasn't wrong - he said women have a different list to men and intelligence - making them laugh is one of those - how they and others are treated - potential
doesn't have to be actual for money/succcess/resources phycial attratcivness is there but lower down.

Laiste · 14/05/2026 15:01

Man.

with a pillow case over his head

GreaterCassowary · 14/05/2026 17:38

Man for definite. I'm just not at all attracted to women.

EmailsaysOOO · 14/05/2026 17:48

A few years ago, back when the site Yahoo Answers had a weird category of questions for " Gender Studies" there were several posters - which were widely believed to be accounts all created by the same person, and he / they continually asked this sort of thing.

It's as if the aim is to prove that women who say they are straight are in fact, at heart physically attracted to other women. Which clearly isn't consistent with the meaning of heterosexuality. I hope Op you haven't migrated here to Mumsnet from that site.

It is going to drive us all up the wall if you start a concerted campaign to try and propagate your weird notions.
