Leopards ate my face. It's only when magats are personally affected by Trump's actions that they have their 'Come to Jesus' moment.

They won't

I think this pic is self explanatory. It is so so depressing what is happening and it just seems to get worse and worse in every way. His pathetic wrestling match on the front lawn that is costing millions to stage, his bigly bunker ballroom
All of it

This and the Iran strike during a religious holiday - I can’t do this any more. I’ve got to stop picking the scab and go cold turkey from all things political!

As an aside, I’ve completely lost any faith I might have had in TRIP US - they seem to have this innocent belief that all’s well that ends well, even with Trump and MAGA. They are far too positive for my liking! I just kept shouting at Katty Kay whilst listening to their latest podcast.

Ha ha, Reassure mode on.

As a species, we have never had it so good.

I was just posting on a thread about "garden centers cause cancer". Now I knew totally zero about garden centers causing cancer, and now thanks to published studies I know a tiny wee bit about it. They don't. Not to a statistically significant degree, as known at the moment. And that is not going to change for the worse.

Why mention that ? Ach, because now people worry over a 1 in 2 million chance. But just a few generations ago, it was 50-50 if you survived beyond the crib.

I don't find that depressing. I find it hilarious. It is even worse than Obama predicted at a correspondent's dinner. Att.

That stage thing looks like an interstellar gateway or something. The film "Contact" ?

Are our lizard overlords going to finally show up.

:-)

BustingBaoBun · 28/05/2026 11:34

I suppose I find the annihilation of the East Wing that had stood there for over a century depressing. The millions being spent on some gaudy ballroom, bunker and now this wrestling thingy. Apparently they had to take up most of the Front Lawn which will have to be replaced. Money no object!

DancingFerret · 28/05/2026 11:40

I watched Trump on TV last night saying the Iranians are on their knees and can't hold out much longer (paraphrased).

If their latest attack is anything to go by, thank goodness they're on their knees because otherwise they might be capable of bringing the entire world to a virtual standstill...🙄

Wouldn't be surprised if the front lawn to the White House was being sold off. Who wouldn't want a bit of history 😞

The "No Kings" movement announced a nationwide day of protests on June 14 — Flag Day and President Trump's 80th birthday — to counterprogram the UFC fight at the White House.

Well, threatening Oman now. He's drunk on power.

Apologies for the long cut 'n' paste but this seems like a believable summary of the Cuba situation. From Axios news letter.

The Trump administration is bracing for the potential collapse of Cuba's totalitarian government as early as this summer, and has war-gamed military response plans in case the island descends into chaos, U.S. officials tell Axios' Marc Caputo.

  • Why it matters: President Trump hasn't authorized an invasion and prefers a peaceful transition to a free Cuba. So the administration will keep pushing economic sanctions to try to strangle the regime in Havana in a slow-motion constriction.
"The best way to describe it is 'accelerationism,'" a senior administration official said, referring to hastening societal collapse.
  • "But we don't want to kill off the regime just yet. There's a method to this. It's in stages."
🔎 Zoom in: This methodical squeezing of Cuba's communist regime aims to buy time for Trump, engrossed in peace talks with Iran, to eventually focus on Cuba.
  • "Iran's not finished, and the president is not in a rush," another senior administration official said. "Trump wants to exhaust all the levers that he can. But at this point, there aren't as many levers as before."
  • A third senior administration official said: "We have a pretty deep toolbox, especially when it comes to sanctions and enforcing them. More is on the way."
The big picture: The Cuba operation aims to eliminate the wellspring of Latin American Marxist agitation and anti-U.S. activism, ever since Fidel and Raúl Castro led their successful revolution in 1959.
  • To bring Cuba to its knees this year, the administration first targeted the island's lifeline: Venezuela and its socialist leader, Nicolás Maduro, who kept Havana afloat with oil shipments that powered the country and gave it export revenue.
👀 Inside the room: Last month, U.S. Southern Command, which oversees military operations in the Caribbean, held a multiagency "tabletop" exercise to prepare for military action in Cuba, one of the senior administration officials said.
  • "Everything is on the table, but no invasion is planned or imminent," the official said. "When POTUS says go, we're ready for anything."
In the exercise, another source said, U.S. officials discussed Cuba's possession of drones and how to respond to possible unrest in the sweltering Cuban heat as spring turns to summer.
  • "It's going to be hot," the source said. "People won't have electricity. Food spoils without refrigeration. People get angry. They can take to the streets. And then what happens? I can't see the president doing nothing if there's repression."
  • Another source, a Trump adviser, disagreed: "The president does not want boots on the ground for more than 48 hours. It's a quagmire in the making. This could get messy."
One presidential adviser said the approach to Cuba is "classic Trump: Push your enemy off balance. It's pressure, watch the response, apply more pressure, watch the response, apply more pressure."
  • One of the officials said: "We have time. The regime doesn't."

Breaking news: Trump administration officials have pressed the Bureau of Engraving and Printing to design a $250 bill featuring the president’s portrait, in what would be the first appearance of a living person on U.S. currency in more than 150 years.

The CNN headline for the Oman threat is :

Trump’s ‘blow ‘em up’ threat to Oman means he’s now attacked or threatened 1 out of every 13 countries

Oman is at least the 15th country he has threatened to attack or attacked.

$250? Not many Americans will be seeing his ugly mug then. The way he's trashing his own country means fewer people will have the luxury of using such a high value note.

It means he fits more per suitcase when he leaves office. 2.5 x more then with $100 notes.

See, I am starting to get his thinking here.

$1 million in 100s fits into an airline carry on case. That, 40 liters volume. A 747-8 Jumbo, like the one Qatar "gifted", has a 120 thousand liter hold, so that's 3000 40 liter cases.

So at 100 buck notes thats 3000 million. 7500 million in 250 buck notes

Low key discussion of Canada explaining the "FO" part of FAFO

Wow. So they finally decided.

That's good, because the more customers they have, the more they can invest in development.

I wonder what the US will do to punish them ? Both Canada and Sweden.
