Nah. I wanna talk about the coracle people. Coming over here, nicking our tin, pricing us native Celts out of our roundhouses, overloading our shaman offices on a Monday morning. And they refuse to integrate.

As for the Romans. Don't get me started on them. That guy Bigus Orangas Turdas. What a knob he was.

What have the Romans ever done for us, eh.

Anyway, has he sorted out the Ukraine war yet. That reincarnation of Bigus Orangas Turdas ?

Perhaps talk about Trofim Lysenko whose agricultural experiments, supported by Stalin, led to mass starvation in the 20th century. Ukraine, the Stans and Mongolia/China. Millions died. Because bad science.

ETA and those who had to adopt the pseudo science practice were forced into it, even though they knew it wouldn't work.

The deep ploughing/close planting guy. I know about him.

But he was post coracle era.

You never disappoint @RedTagAlan. 😀

Something of the Kris Marshalls/Oli the wine lad off Saturday Kitchens about that gnome. I would genuinely vote for that gnome over Trump. Maybe that's what Melania though she was actually getting when she clicked "Add to Basket", all those bleurgh-filled years ago.

In gratitude for that cheering garden sprite; I shall cherish hopes that you won't be inundated with similar "other offers we think you might like" after searching out that particular hellspawned homunculus...

It was germ seed extraction for wheat and rice.

Lowering the tone a bit, as usual, I’ve seen this around a few times this week, but I don’t think I’ve seen it here. Well, it made me titter.

More winning for the art of the deal stable genius.

12 months after Australia started letting American beef into the country the numbers are in!
^^
230kg or 8000 USD worth one way, 4,2 billion USD the other. Think of what you will of beef, this is truly art of the deal levels stuff.

Wow!🤯 Farmers in the US are winning so hard with Trump.

What with the ICE raids, tariffs, cancellation of subsidies/contracts, war impacting the price of energy/fertiliser and bigly international deals.

Do you think they're sick of winning yet?

There was a US farmer interviewed on the BBC a few days ago - they were sick of it all, the high prices, cancellations, tariffs, everything. But still fervently supported Trump because "Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon".

As I've discovered with one of my friends who married an American and now lives there but came back for a recent visit, there is literally no reasoning with them. I did try, but it ended with an omnirant about "illegals", Biden's many and varied "crimes", MIGA ("Make Iran Great Again" - "let us pray for strikes tonight!!") and, finally, abortion clinics - where, apparently, 9 month old foetuses are being "aborted" whilst they are trying to crawl across the clinic floor to safety. I had to get the dog to dance on a table for scones by way of a distraction, lest anyone in the vicinity think I shared these "views". And she was once in the top set for maths at school and all A* in GCSEs; what a waste of a functioning brain.

I'd like to think that these people will be humbled and ashamed when it comes to light how much the Trumps have personally plundered the state and stock markets and violated the globe for their own ends to the lasting detriment of us all. But most will still venerate him and claim that he was "betrayed" by the weaklings around him, I suspect.

Fill the WH fighting cage with terminally-horny rampant mandrills liberally plied with Frosty Jacks, and make SCROTUS walk the plank slowly into the melee. What an anniversary fiesta for the eyes that would be. 🥳

@REP22

One thing we learnt while in Europe was that some Americans are uneducated, unthinking, arrogant and rude.

Overheard in Krakow- "how did the German soldiers live in those nice houses?" "The Jewish people gave them to them when they decided to move out".

In Krakow of all places.

I hate what he's doing to America. Fucking hate it.Angry

I have family in the US and since the days of Hoover tickets in the 80s, we have travelled back and forward. All of us and love it.

But now, we aren't going and some of my family in the US are afraid to leave. My mum and her sister fear they will never be together again.Sad

Meanwhile Americans, us and the rest of the world are weaker, poorer, deader because of Trump.

Why is he a fucking thing?

I haven't checked the news yet, but Kuwait is on high alert and gov't warnings are in place to stay indoors. So Eid was yesterday and today might be a not ceasefire day again.

More strikes by the US apparently. Iran says they fired at a US airbase. And Israel has ordered more of Lebanon be evacuated, as they have just started another campaign.

So what to say?

I mean obviously the USA was provoked by the Iranians having military things in Iran.

It's not a proper war is it. I can't see any Oscar winning films being made about it. Not US films anyway.

Another day in the USA, another headline that would collapse a Government in almost any other Western nation.

Exclusive: Justice Department launches a criminal investigation into Trump accuser E. Jean Carroll | CNN Politics

"The investigation is focused on whether Carroll committed perjury in testimony tied to her two civil lawsuits against the president – one alleging he sexually abused Carroll in a New York department store in the mid-1990s, and a second for defaming her when in 2019 he repeatedly denied the assault, said she wasn’t his type and claimed she made it up to boost sales of a book."

A comment on that

A President ordering the Justice Department to criminally investigate a woman who won a sexual assault lawsuit against him makes Watergate look like an unpaid parking ticket.

I have relatives that were pretty much maga/maha intil DOGE cuts meant the charity that provided services (therapy, respite, medical cover) for a disabled relative were no longer funded...

And Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche "... worked as one of Trump’s personal attorneys on the Carroll appeals (CNN)"

He has been recused from this case, but he is still Acting Attorney General.

And Trump has not paid anything he owes her.

This and the Iran strike during a religious holiday - I can’t do this any more. I’ve got to stop picking the scab and go cold turkey from all things political!

As an aside, I’ve completely lost any faith I might have had in TRIP US - they seem to have this innocent belief that all’s well that ends well, even with Trump and MAGA. They are far too positive for my liking! I just kept shouting at Katty Kay whilst listening to their latest podcast.

Leopards ate my face. It's only when magats are personally affected by Trump's actions that they have their 'Come to Jesus' moment.

Realistically, HOW can this war end?

Despite Trump saying that he doesn't care about the mid-terms, he has to play to a US audience while Iran has nothing to lose by continuing to resist. So we are left with the paradox of an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object.

Lets hope both sides have good negotiators, but then there's still the hurdle of Trump, waiting in the wings to upend any agreement.
