We are a kind and welcoming group supporting each other in our daily tasks to organize and declutter and stay on top of all that needs doing. We share our accomplishments and brain dump our to-do lists in a friendly chat over coffee manner. 😊☕️

I am very happy to hear that Baby is home and safe @Mumtobabyhavoc What a worry!

I have been wondering about @WideOpenBeaches and @Aria999 too 🙏

That's really sweet how they handled the plane situation @Peridot1 And you made me grin about losing your sunglasses on a drunken night out! I hope you are feeling less frazzled todayl

Today I have plans to tackle my freezer and menu plan. It is a habit I haven't yet been able to make stick. I have no excuse not to tackle it today as there is nothing in my diary for a change.

But first, another coffee and 20 mins with my book ( or how will I ever get through them all in my lifetime??)

Mumtobabyhavoc · 05/10/2026 07:55

Winter, after I posted, I posted on another thread and guess what?! My post was directly after @aria999 's! Such a bizarre coincidence. 🙀

Have got the dishwasher on.
Boiled some eggs for lunches.
Ate a few dark choc digestives and two pieces of toast with pbj. 😛
Watching Legally Blonde. 😁

Thanks for the kind words for Baby. 💛

I took the kids out late this afternoon to Burnaby Lake for a bit of a nature walk. I'd never been there before. Needed Google Maps to find it, but it gave me wonky directions and I realized it had me zig-zagging and on a longer route and finally to a dead end industrial area. 😵‍💫I finally figured it out and luckily wasn't too far away. It was worth the drive, though, and I'll definitely go back.

I love legally blonde @Mumtobabyhavoc !

I did an impromptu job last night, while panicking because I couldn't find my staff card (it was not hanging out with @watchPhone 's card alas, just hiding on my desk) I took everything off my bedside table, gave it a good wipe, and put all the random detritus either in the bin or where it actually belonged. So much nicer now!!

Peridot1 · 05/10/2026 09:48

Good task done @SingleThreadJoiner2.

@Mumtobabyhavoc - that looks lovely. Glad baby is ok.

I am still tackling the washing mountain. Almost done! Then I need to start the round of bed changing……

@WintersFrog - we are ok on freezer and menu plans as DH is obsessed. Although he tends to put lots in the freezers and then moan at me that the freezers are full…. I think we are due a freezer inventory and menu plans based on what we have.

Today’s list

  • last of DS’s washing - done just need to hang it up
  • two sweaters to wash
  • dishwasher and kitchen
  • change a bed
  • dust and vacuum bedroom
  • call about bed refund
  • book PT sessions
  • book skin check
  • book Dexa scan
  • put laundry away
  • fold laundry
  • walk
  • sort through tomatoes that DH picked

I think that will be enough for the day.

Have a great Monday all.

FourSeasonsLobelia · 05/10/2026 11:48

Glad baby havoc is okay!

im in and out of appointments all day today so probably not much by way of real work being done.

hope all are well!

watchPhone · 05/10/2026 13:48

hilariously in my Friday meeting when I was walking through why a project was going to be delayed yet again, SpiritDoggo was licking my feet and tickling me so I didn't sound too devastated 😄

I read Project Hail Mary over the weekend - which was a good read.

@Mumtobabyhavoc good news about BabyHavoc
Today

  • dropped off car for a service. Keeping fingers crossed that all is well, ready for MOT on Wednesday
  • wardrobe now in smaller bits ready to go to tip, I just need to brush up the mess where I was chopping it up
  • we have a 'situation' in work that is very tiresome to deal with but is taking up a lot of time - more of that today
  • I need to fill in some fine cracks in my bedroom. It has had one coat of a watered down emulsion base coat
  • I need to measure up the windows to see if the ebay curtains I found are big enough - it is a big old bay window.
  • we have builders next door and then massive roadworks on the nearest big junction - but the noise feels sooooo close so have a banging headache already this morning.
  • desk is full of dried up yoghurt! Guess that needs a clean
  • mulling over what to do next year in terms of holidays
  • need to do some finance admin
That's it for today, have a good one, SoE
FourSeasonsLobelia · 05/10/2026 16:44

Have you seen the film @watchPhone ? I saw it with DS1 and developed an unexpected crush on Ryan Gosling which I had up until then managed to avoid.

I finished my appointments earlier than anticipated so plan to prune the climbing rose at our entrance for ten minutes or so.

RunningKatie · 05/10/2026 18:49

Evening everyone, sorry been missing for a few days. Work is super busy, house is still in a state - builders still not finished the bathroom. Hoping Wednesday.
Lovely cleaner isn't coming until they are done which is understandable as it's chaos and dust covered mess.
3 weeks to half term, I suspect we'll be crawling there, so much to do. I'm going to make some lists.

Aria999 · 05/10/2026 22:53

Hello lovely people! Not sure why I dropped off the thread. 👋

Mumtobabyhavoc · 06/10/2026 05:54

Today was a blur.
Morning routine with breakfast, making Havoc's snack and lunch;
fold and put away dc's clean laundry;
get both dc out the door;
got to school just in time as kids were starting to go in;
off to Baby's school, which is parent participation;
home to vacuum, wash floors, clean bathroom, tidy, load of laundry on;
Get my mum's 1st IV going, make lunch;
short 1pm meeting;
Get my mum's 2nd IV going;
have a snack (tempura prawn taco);😛
off to get Havoc, Baby in tow;
quick meeting with teacher, Havoc and baby playing with friend;
off to school playground, which had a bunch of kids/parents, one of whom used to go to Havoc's pre-school, so chatted with the mum and we ended up staying until almost 5pm;
home, throw a load of laundry on;
make dinner which lasted 90 mins as Havoc ate and ate and ate (I guess, considering 2 hours extra play!!! 2 prawn tacos, spaghetti with a meatball, the thick whole wheat pita I love warmed with butter, yoghurt, a Perrier, milk and 2 chocolate Digestives);
hang up laundry;
get kids ready for bed;
help my mum;
get myself ready for bed;
finally get into bed.
And here i am at 10:15pm.
Total blur of a day.

Morning everyone. Hi @Aria999 !

busy days for you as always @Mumtobabyhavoc ❤️

today my Daily Project is to continue trimming our climbing rose at the entrance to the house. Plus a ten minute declutter of the hallway.

hope everyone has a great day!

WintersFrog · 06/10/2026 08:16

Hello @Aria999 I hope all is well with you and yours! @Mumtobabyhavoc I am tired just reading that!
Builders are a lot to cope with @RunningKatie but i am sure it'll be worth it 💕

Hugs to all!

Peaceful pottering day yesterday and another planned for today, just a few work bits to do but no need to leave the house. Am getting there with freezer. My past self did quite well putting batch cooked food in it. Current self had forgotten and was wondering where all the food tubs had gone. So a nice surprise 😊 DH will put frozen chips and ice lollies on top of my lovingly cooked meals. We hardly ever eat chips but he feels the need to have them in, just in case he's ever in charge of feeding littlest. He's quite hard to manage sometimes 😎 🤣

Roses round the door sound lovely @FourSeasonsLobelia I must weed the patio. It's looking quite disreputable at the moment.

Peridot1 · 06/10/2026 08:57

Morning all.

Hi @Aria999! Nice to see you and hope all is well with you.

@Mumtobabyhavoc - I’m not surprised the day was a blur!

I got the holiday and DS washing mountain finished yesterday. Plus some bedding. Almost done on my unpacking too. I always seem to leave the last bits. Just my toiletries bag to sort now I think.

Want to prepare a travel bag of things I always need like chargers and plugs etc.

Am out for a walk and lunch with a friend today. Need to strip spare bed where DS was sleeping and wash the bedding. Then I want to start sorting the linen cupboard which is a mess. I seem to have spare duvets for every bed in every room. Need to pop into town to pick something up for DS.

Have a great day all.

watchPhone · 06/10/2026 10:58

@FourSeasonsLobelia I did see the film, which piqued my interest in the book, I may read more now.

Today

  • shuffle furniture around bedroom so more walls can be painted
  • no training today as PT sick so may get to gym later
  • binge watched 4 episodes of Blue Lights - may do other two tonight (after the gym 😄)
  • Service on car completed with no additional work, now for MOT tomorrow - fingers crossed it passes
  • My finance list for next year was scary. (Home/Holiday/Personal). Need a lottery win or to keep the day job 😄
Short list but am getting distracted and annoyed by work emails, have a good one, SoE

Roses round the door sound lovely @FourSeasonsLobelia I must weed the patio. It's looking quite disreputable at the moment.

The roses are quite extraordinary in their hardiness. I planted them originally because I had ordered 2 roses from David Austin and they sent an extra one for reasons I can't recall and so I plonked it into a bare bit by the door. I was hacking today and commented to DH 'I feel like I'm trying to get into Sleeping Beauty's castle!'.

DH also plonks chips on my frozen tubs of food. He doesn't eat chips either!

FourSeasonsLobelia · 06/10/2026 11:10

Morning all!

I set my timer for 10 minutes for the fore-mentioned rose pruning and ended up finishing the job thanks to a robust saw in under 20 minutes. I also planted a cyclamen in a bare hanging basket. The entrance looks a mess and will until I get rid of the garden waste, and sadly it has also revealed some messy spots the roses hid nicely! So, a classic case of it will look worse before it looks better!

I'm about to do my hallway declutter.

I bought new bedding for DH and I, Similar to this. Our curtains are a pale gold and I felt like something nice for winter.

DH is fitting a new battery to my car. I also need to do some finance admin which I am putting off.

Hope everyone has a good day!

WintersFrog · 06/10/2026 12:37

Ooh i like that @FourSeasonsLobelia! Also the colour of the walls. My bedroom is quite beige and I am starting to think i need to do something about that

Peridot1 · 06/10/2026 16:44

Very nice @FourSeasonsLobelia.

I have just done an @petalpower trip out - needed tie on labels and decided I wanted a paper diary so did that, then Boots for nail varnish remover for me and a couple of things for DS, Waitrose for some bits for some soup I want to make and then the highlight was Robert Dyas for a new mop. The sheer excitement! Oh and I dropped off two bags to the charity clothing boxes in the car park.

I need to do something with my bedroom too @WintersFrog. Not planning anything until next year though! Did enough this year.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 06/10/2026 17:46

Loving the bold duvet ... It's giving villa and ocean breeze vibes. 😍

Also, very interested in the roses around the doorway. What is maintenance like? Are aphids an issue? I bet it's gorgeous. 🤩

Long drive home from school drop-iff just now. Lots of roadwork. No pressing chores, so thanking my past self for that. 😅
I do have a huge to-do list that I'm ignoring, though. 🙄

I’ve been looking to see what the rose is that I have around the door. My
memory was wrong and it isn’t a David Austin. It’s this one

https://www.thompson-morgan.com/p/rose-banksiae-lutea-rambling-rose/T68461TM?source=TMTN6682W&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=17679783043&gbraid=0AAAAAD_t6fozRXb-R1BBzWfA1oZPzsR6Y&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIpYuVsfqllwMVSJiDBx08cDZkEAQYASABEgJY8PD_BwE

they are right in the description when they say it is vigorous!!!

FourSeasonsLobelia · 06/10/2026 18:59

To answer your queries, @Mumtobabyhavoc .. I planted it directly into the earth. We have clay soil and I don’t really water it at all unless it’s very dry. No aphids to speak of at all. I have a lot of roses and they all get black spot, but not this climber. It’s almost indestructible I think!!!

Mumtobabyhavoc · 06/10/2026 19:13

I just AI'd that. Looks like you made a great choice! It really looks great. 😍
