A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙* *

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

@justasking111 i'm so sorry to hear about your friend

I've seen suspicions raised about how the waiting list have come down in England as well. People are saying that the NHS sent out letters asking "do you still need this procedure?" And people didn't get those letters, and got removed from the waiting list without knowing.

Post round my way is highly dubious. Luckily, I don't get much in the post.

SapphireCasino · Yesterday 20:26

I hope Reform do at least check that whoever they put up for MP isn't a former porn star and that kind of stuff

sorry if it makes me sound mean but that is not a great situation.

FatEndoftheWedge · Yesterday 20:26

I think that's the problem re NHS when suddenly procedures come under pressure but the actual systems have not been made better.

It's what puts staff under awful strain

@SapphireCasino yes 😂
So basic for anyone in politics to be clean.

And loved the injection of the stones on the thread earlier 😍

I seem to recall my brother (a GP) saying that diktat was issued to all UK surgeries, but I could be wrong.

I think it became apparent faster in Wales because of the size of the population. When I told my GP I was going private he smiled.

How do we feel on here about Farage's £5 million personal gift for campaigning for Brexit? I remember that there were many references to Starmer's glasses and suit freebies. Anyone?

That's because this thread is about Labour not working! The clue is in the title.

Your 'Anyone?' is rather pointed. What's your point?

Nothing to do with “Labour isn’t working” is it?

Oh, and 'we' don't think anything, as we aren't a hive mind.

Some are Reform members, some Reform supporters, some will vote Reform if they feel it's necessary to block Labour and some wouldn't touch Reform with a barge pole. I imagine you'll have a range of opinions, like elsewhere on MN.

Wrong thread. You need the other one

redange · Yesterday 21:02

Regarding Farage and £5 Million . If the state provided Nigel Farage with the Security he needs to avoid possible 'Assassination' you would have a clear case. However, Nigel 'Farage's security costs are in excess of £1million pounds a year due to the tier 1 security staff and 24 hour round the clock protection. Nigel Farage is not the normal MP who just requires 'special' locks on his doors but security that costs absolute fortunes to attain. Richard Tice explained this on Talk Radio today. With regards to the £1.4 Million House without a Mortgage well maybe he sold his last one and he is obviously a big earner. He earnt over a £1millon on Celebrity ..

SapphireCasino · Yesterday 21:10

@redange I was fine with it being for security

I was fine with it generally because you can gift money for whatever reason you like. He wasn't an MP at the time. Not my business.

But now he's come out and said it was for Brexit, I'm quite puzzled. He must know that's a total PR fail. And I don't know where it crosses over into murky water politically in terms of all the rules they have to follow.

I also know he doesn't say anything without really thinking it through so what is he up to I wonder?

I actually think he doesn't want to be prime minister. So is this the beginning of a scandal that will bring down Reform and he's achieved his goal of destroying Labour?

very strange times. Even just typing that sounds mad but politicians seem to be playing some form of 4D chess that goes over my head.

redange · Yesterday 21:19

Apparently Gary Neville fancies running for Manchester Mayor .. A man who is universally loathed by both City and Utd Fans ! How out of touch are Labour they really are the most clueless people of all time !

redange · Yesterday 21:23

Farage is not a paragon of virtue nor does he pretend to be unlike most of those who support those parties on the left of the political spectrum.
For, me if Farage was no longer able to be leader or the next 'Elected' Prime Minister, the answer would be Matt Goodwin who is rather special..

Who is angry at themselves? The assumption seems to be that if you don't like Farage then you must be a Labour supporter?

redange · Yesterday 21:26

This to suggest that Reform UK is now a big enough organisation to operate and succeed without Nigel Farage. Thus, it is quite plausible that Nigel Farage might stand down for a 2033 General Election and Matt Goodwin might become the leader...

This thread is more about Labour though, and how it’s not working.

Hallowedturf · Yesterday 21:27

How poetic if it turns out that Labour get stuck with the deadweight which is Starmer.

I don’t believe in karma, but I would be willing to make an exception in this case.

I find that the assumption is the other way around: don't like Labour? You must be a Reform voter. ETA: or a bot!

Which party do you support?

I thought the answer was Robert Jenrick

And Matt still has to find a seat.

I still find him very special lol - have you seen the stunning girlfriend though - but tbh I think he can't run again after writing that book?

I was wondering what his plan was actually. Clearly, the book was written before he ran. Clearly, he could not have published it if he'd got in.

So to a large extent, the fact that he published it says that is not really expecting to run again. At least that's the message I get from it. He will be off other pastures.

And to be honest, I still wonder about the money behind him.

This thread is about Labour not working, nothing else. I don't go on the gardening threads to talk about construction.

The SDP isn’t on my radar, but I found it interesting. I am always curious about new points of view.

James Murray is the new health secretary?? Wtf.
